I am well aware that Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church are a pariah in America, however, what he has to say to this country is dire in it's importance. I believe God has raised him up tp remind this Godless nation that He is Sovereign and His will, shall be done as proposed in Isaiah 46:9-11. John Rankin is no match for this man who knows the word of God thoughroughly. He is a disgrace to the name of Christ with his liberal sounding acceptance of an unrepentant homosexual.
Are we to judge those outside the church, Seventh, or within? How is it that we condemn homosexuality without, yet cannot even deal with our own rampant sexual immorality within? Why do we hear Fred Phelps constantly condemning the lost, yet never hear any word from him to the church, urging them to repent of their own crimes? Is he not aware that those without Christ are SLAVES to their sinful nature? That only those who are IN Christ have a true choice? Why then doesn't he seek to free them?
if people cant even admit what fred phelps has been saying what on earth are they going to repent for? if you knew anything about his ministry youd know he is seeking to set them free (all tho i admit it is in a very strange way) in providing them with an understanding that what they do is a SIN and will be punished. the whole plan of salvation basically starts on the reason for salvation. quit whining and listen to the debate...(idk if your even listening)
All you ever hear from Fred Phelps is, "You're doomed, you evildoer!" You don't get the whole story from him. he is so busy condemning that he completely forgets the other part of the message: that while the wages of sin is Death (a part he's got down pat), the GIFT of GOD is LIFE ETERNAL THROUGH CHRIST JESUS! He is so busy spreading hate, that he completely forgets about the LOVE of God, that God LOVES enough that He sent Jesus to die while we were still dead in our sins!
@ConnellxSilverfur if men don't see their need of a Saviour, there is no need to give them the good news of the gospel. blast 'em w/ the 10 cannons of the Law 'till they realize they're in trouble
@filoIII Man knows in the very depths of his soul that he is sinful. The law has been written on his heart. All people like Phelps do is harden their hearts and their ears against the message of redemption, and fail to preach redemption at all.
Why would we want to listen to a man who froths at the mouth, raves and rants like a lunatic.
One who we know beat the crap out of his kids when they were young? Sorry, this guy gets a huge XXXXX from all of us other than some people who think that verbal, physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual abuse is fine.
He is total nutcase and he would be teaching people to come to Christ not giving up on people if he were SANE.

We are to judge those within the church if they are guilty of the said crimes.
But that is not the Christians's only mandate from God.
We are to evangelise the lost too. That is also part of our job description. When you evangelise the lost, especially those who are proud of their sin, we are to tell them that they are already under the judgment of God. We give them the law, so that it may put a holy dread of God within them. Then, when the law has done it's work, we proclaim the Gospel.
The law was intended to do one thing: to show Man's sinfulness in light of God's holiness, and to point to the need for a Savior. When Christ came, He fulfilled the law! The "law" of Moses is no longer required, and Paul urged that the church not require the gentiles to follow it, because the law was already written ON THEIR HEARTS! This is one of the most powerful evidences of the existence of God, and of God's love! Read "Eternity in Their Hearts" by Dr. Don Richardson. You'll see what I mean.
Right on! Fred is enslaved in his own weird hell cult version of God believing he is a demigod, that what is called partly insane and he is it. Scary guy.
Phelps isn't comfortable with someone other than himself talking.
