I saw them the day before (I think) in S.F. It was my first concert, and I'd never heard of Dissection or At The Gates. I went to see Morbid Angel!! Anyway, Dissection came out wearing spikes and eyeliner and I thought to myself "oh no, this is gonna SUCK!" Then "At the Fathomless Depths" came on, followed by the brutal "Night's Blood". I was instantly mesmerized. Such an amazing performance! Literally changed my life and was hands down the best concert I've ever been to.

Is that gig in Stockholm or is it one from Gothenborg. They were on tour and performed in several towns. If this video was made in Stockholm, than I was there. They were touring with Dismember, I think. This was my first death metal gig I was 13. I was just a kid.

I usually dont care about what genre bands play aslong as it gives me the feeling im after. But since you seem to be one of thoes who think that the name of the genre really matter.. Correct, dissection did not sound like traditionall black metal, but nor did they sound like traditionall death either.. the first songs were kinda thrashy and a bit more extreme black, and by black i mean Venom's trash/black. But the sound is at the same time a bit heavy.. Let just call it Metal, with dark vibes.
