It is from the concept album of the same name by the multi national group Esperanto: Rock Orchestra. Try searching youtube for 'esperanto last tango'. The album is about a rapist and the original (English) lyrics are about the aftermath of the rape and (I think) the suicideof the rapist
In fact having looked it up on the net he is killed by a car in the end, not suicide Last Tango (lyrics and music: Vincent - Libert - Meakin) For all the years he tried They said he wasn't right They left him in the night To win a bitter fight He knew they couldn't know They'd never seen his show And in a final throe He wrote his last tango The Vartan song has the same music and the same title but bears little relationship otherwise with the original
buttermilk's channel, that her's idol. I'm starting to like her even though I don't understand the song. She has the talents and beauty. I'm from the Philippines. :=)
I'm going to share this video to her.I'm sure she had seen it but I would like her to know that I LOVE this video! Thank you!
Superbe choreographie, tres risquee cette "chute". J'adore l'attitude tres detachee, les danseurs sont super. J'avais jamais entendu la version anglaise. Merci bien de ce video, MorganeMarie! :o)
Last Tango in Paris or Last Tango in Monte-Carlo? I actually got see Sylvie Vartan at the Hôtel de Paris in Monte-Carlo on September 29, 2006, where she hosted a gala on behalf of the underprivileged children of Bulgaria, her homeland (and mine too!). Sylvie Vartan put on an awsome performance that night, one that I would never forget, and best of all, it was for a very good cause! The world needs a lot more people like Sylvie Vartan!!!
And this, in turn, in this form, was covered by Louise English and Hill's Angels in the "Chez When" segment of the March 12, 1986 "Benny Hill Show." (Where they all wore red dresses.) One question: Who did the English translation of Jean-Michel Rivat's French lyrics?
It's on the A&E DVD "Complete & Unadulterated: The Hill's Angels Years - Set 6: 1986-1989." The very first show in that entire final set. If you're asking about the performance on "TBHS," that is.

how strange what they have done to the lyrics - very neutralised as the original song was very disturbing

Scotrelf: Why was the original French version disturbing?
