Great day out Desasta, just came over from Magpie's version LOL. Thanks for a look around that poor old church. That hammy is a fabulous find from that large field, beautiful condition and beautifully photographed in the field. Thanks for showing! Another fabulous day out in a beautiful location, GL and HH mate.
@NQExplorers Yeah we hunt in the same places to cover the larger grounds just to make sure we don't miss anything, its good having someone else there when hunting, you get to share what you have found at the end of the dig, its all interesting stuff, thanks for watching matey!
@Vespasian12345 I was using UKDFD to record my finds but they seem to have disappeared, hope the site comes back soon, it holds all my records, i have tried contacting my FLO on the PAS site regarding a few of my finds but i never get a reply, thanks for watching
@desasta UKDFD will be back up soon they are presently migrating to new server, all the old records will still be there. good luck with your FLO - mine is completely swamped due to budget and departmental cuts!
@ExiledOzi Thanks for the info, im glad its not gone for good, its a great site and very helpful, FLO just emailed me and he's got the same problem but we are getting there, thanks matey
what a great place to detect on, shame about the idiots that had been allowed on there .. glad they didn't find that hammered .. well done desasta .. GL & HH
@TinaGsx1400 It's a shame i know, I wonder how many other places they have been and done the same thing, im glad i rescued the hammy though ; ) thanks for watching
@GemQ1 Thanks! its people like them that make it difficult for people like to gain permission to save just a small part of local history, every item i find has a story to tell about what went on in the area all those years ago, thanks for watching
What a terrific place to hunt, and a halfgroat for your first hammy LOL it doesnt get much better than that! welcome to the hammered club.
if you bump into the other idiot remind them of the detecting code of conduct, you remove all junk not throw it back down a hole, thats one of the most disrespectful things u could do to other detectorists and the landowner.
Looks a great spot there, keep looking no site is ever really worked out completely! HH
@ExiledOzi I was pretty mad when i found all the spots where the junk had been left behind, i found bits of iron and even a modern axe head just resting there against a tree, but given the state of the place and the neglect for and area that dates to the 1200's im not surprised they didn't feel the need to take the junk with them, the place has been used as a dumping ground for years, its such a shame.
Great video and a really stunning site to hunt! Hey I found your video channel with the assistance of @Farenheit1100's great list of suggested channels! Keep the great videos coming and think about writing an article for Temerity Magazine.
hello my friend great area to search , and nice coin , might be a good idea to line and pin the area, to thoroughly search it, look forward to your next video
@OLDGOLD1100 Thanks matey! i was over the moon when i found it! im looking forward to going back there one day when its dried out a bit.. lol, thanks for your comments
Congratulations on your first hammy, especially as it's from your new piece of land. The buckles are great finds too, and with the weather being cold, perhaps you should take that coal home with you. That chapel is really nice, but it's a shame that it's being left to go to ruin. It obviously has a lot of history to it. Have you traced the footpath leading to it? Got to be finds somewhere along its length. Great video and hunt, shame about the boggy ground. GL & HH :D
@fluoridekid I think the site would be a great place to hunt during the summer time, at the moment the place is very very wet and isolated, the cold windy weather makes it quite a harsh place to be, the old church has a history leading back to the 1200's so there should be more finds there yet, thanks for watching
Well done on your Hammered. It's a wonderful feeling isn't it. First person to touch that coin since it was lost some 400 years ago. Good luck and keep them coming...
@stevej41 Yeah its a great feeling! i had to calm myself down before making the video lol, its pretty rare to find a hammered around these parts so its an extra special find for me, i always wonder who owned the items before me and what sort of people they were, it all makes the hobby worth while, thanks for watching
@SuperJammygit Its a really nice place but difficult with all the iron signals, for some reason the place seems to have a large amount of coal which gave the same reading as the hammered coin, so i spent most of the time digging those signals, who knows maybe there's a few more hammy's to come yet! thanks for watching
It's a crowned rose and a crowned thistle,1604-1625,James 1st half groat, the reverse should say 'TUEATUR UNITA DEUS' ( may god guard these united kingdoms) nice find, well done mate!!!
