  • the decoration of the monastery of Asis (Umbria, Italy) is way better than the Sistine Chapel, i've seen both.

  • Jersey shore brought me here

  • I can imagine what it smells like

  • Shit I would have gone insane if I had to paint that.

  • This documentary is soooo good. It's disjointed, but very educational.

  • nudity is not a sin

  • "stick with me...I've worked it all out..."

Really? YOU worked it all out?

    What a douche.

  • It is not nudity, because when people have no sin, that is all right and natural. And couples never should feel guilt to do that in paradise too.

-I am imaging if we can have all good glass ceiling, then will get more free energy .

  • why is there nudity in supposedly "God's" chapel?

  • @bungie1209 I'm curious, were you born in clothes?

  • @toxifox no, but God gave me clothes to wear and cover myself. I am not a baby, nor are the characters drawn by Michelangelo in this Chapel: nude adults.

  • @bungie1209 God gave you clothes? Personally? Or you bought them from a store that has them manufactured across the pacific in that magical place called CHINA? Get a grip.

  • @toxifox so if i buy something from downtown China its me buying it and it isn't coming from God? So does God only deliver Holy books and tablets to mankind? Oh yeh you believe God walked on earth and was a man, so he must not be All powerful and Omniscient... You should get a grip.

God gave mankind clothes because God ALSO gave us something called: here it is .... MODESTY. something the western world clearly lacks.

  • His imagination is so real and great, nobody till now can compare with him, he was blessed to almost 90 years. :) So amazing artist . They do not have any camera that time too. All from his own imagination. I wish I can have ceiling so high and beautiful like the chapel too. :) How he paint them on there?

  • the system is bikonvex, bilateral and bilabial creating.

    did you know that?

  • Damn that ceiling is huge. No wonder michelangelo didn't paint a thing for over 30 years after he finished the ceiling..he was like "Me?Paint? fuck that shit"

  • @youcef lol

  • i thought you werent allowed cameras..

  • This guy is a Michael Moore Clone, gives it away in his demeanor, plus he wears an ear ring, and says Damn in this show.

and then he visits Waco Texas and the crazy Branch Davidians cult, says how sad it all is that they went through what they did. nothing said about them using 50cal guns at the cops and killing several of the cops.

    one two three, liberallllllllllllllllllllllll

  • That was so cool to see! i cant wait to go back

  • when i visited it,it was full with ppl,i couldnt even admire it properly

  • damn i wish i could draw:(

  • he actually didn't lay down to paint. he stood, and painted above his head. In a letter he wrote to a friend he drew a picture of how he had to paint and he talked about how much he hated it. Because of 4 years of standing like that, he ended up with sight problems, back problems, and a lot more. Because of how bitter he was for being forced to do the chapel, thus the special secrets he put in his work secretly mocking the pope.

  • @roflmorrgg , lol when i was in vatican city, the guy who spoke about the history behind sistine chapel... well, was pretty much what you said :)

  • It must be hard to lay down an paint at the same time

  • A true genius in every sense of the word.

  • how did micalangelo get up to the ceiling to paint it?

  • Scaffolding...

  • A Cherry picker.

  • Scaffolding.daaaaaa

  • He borrowed the hydraulic risers from KISS

  • LoL. Smart ass, wise one. I'm still LMAO. HEHEHE. I got tears now. Thanks

  • @painxtreme hahahahaha!

  • @painxtreme best comment ever

  • @painxtreme I actually have been there, and no film can do it justice. First, if laid flat, it is the size of a football pitch, it is 65 ft from the floor, which makes one wonder how he could sort out the curvature and foreshortening so close to a colossal piece to be seen from far below, so perfectly.

That's just some logistics, as an Artist myself, I cannot imagine, even were I to paint everyday for the rest of my life, let alone 4 years, I could never fill a football pitch with paintings.

  • Cool. :)

  • I love these paintings!

  • he speaks fine English. The word is daunting (AKA: intimidating), or in German, entmutigen.

  • epic fail

  • It's DAUNTING. which means, seemingly impossible.
