@CanadianWorkDivers Thanks man yeah my dad built her back in 82-83 and they lengthened and widened her in 89 This was the only Fish tug he built while he was at Kanter's so this is a Kanter built boat. He also helped Marvin Berry build the Mi Marr Lynn back when he was fishing.
@ShabogamoLakeRider Yeah dude he built her but not by himself lol. He was a fisherman for 14 yrs and then he started building boats at Kanter Yachts he was there since day 1 and the L.R. Jackson was one of the boats they built. He's retired now after 32 yrs and 291 boats all built out of either steel or aluminum and ranging anywhere from 55-100 feet in length. Thanks for posting! @SouthPortlandKK its a commercial fishing boat that operates in the great lakes...mostly ontario wisconsin and michigan.....they use trawling and gilnetting usually for yellow perch
@greatwhite1222 This boat is in Ontario Port Stanley to be exact and she is mainly used for gill netting now but does on occasion go trawling. in this video she was only setup for gill netting and it is only recently that she has had her trawl winches and tow bars re installed. but like I said she mainly gill nets and trawls when the demand is there for it. :)
@Nuclearrc awesome....i love these boats....im from east coast canada...my father and many generations of men in my family are snow crab, lobster and swordfisherman,i used to work on my uncles lobster boat before i was forced to move to toronto lol...ive been talking to peggy scruton of scruton marine about getting a job on a fish tug,,ive met with a few captians and one of them considered taking me on one of the trips next year when im 15...hopefully it works out...and great vid =)
