lion eats ape. ape gets clever. ape invents impenatrable glass walled prisons and sticks lions inside. ape puts its young inches away just for the fuck of it.
She simply finds and interest in him, I don't think she'd want to eat a human considering she hasn't been raised in an environment where humans are on the food chain, considering we're on the top, if she was to harm, it would be from being playful, as lions bite and scratch each other as a game, or terrtitory.
@xoKaylumxKillox well in society we are deffinitly the top. But in the animal kingdom, we wouldn't be higher then a lion. Compare their bodies to ours. We do not have claws/sharp teeth or speed. They have all of that.
Fascinated by their son only because he looks like a meal to her... there is nothing "playful" about that lioness' behavior, especially when she is trying to size up the baby's head with her jaws and aggressively clawing at the glass.
Cute baby boy though, and magnificent lioness! He was definitely fascinated with her in a curious manner... she was not, however.
@Spetsop I stand corrected, you are probably very right about this....and on hindsight, I would teach the child to stand back and be a bit fearful/respectful, otherwise a dog or who knows what may approach him in his yard, and no glass between them....
Wow. The baby is in his own works the lioness is like..."I can see it, I just can't quite wrap my mouth around it! Entertaining but makes me a bit nervous.
A Zoo is, unfortunately a horrible prison for most of the animals. The Elephants generally do well. The snakes and turtles are ok. The rest suffer beyond your imaginaiton but... without the zoo they would be dead. Point BEING? Feed the damn kid to the Lion. There are 7 billion humans, we can make another in just a few months, and there are FEW lions left. Parents should be Happy to Feed the Child to the Lion to Assure Lion Heaven.
@RisePatriot Ummm... Yeah... how exactly would feeding an innocent kid to a lion at the zoo help the lion population? Haha? It would only satisfy the Lions hunger and make its desire to live freely in the wild worse... It wouldnt help in any way at all to increase the Lion population.
IT WANTS OUT!!! it dosent like getting antagonized by people banging on the glass and also getting lights flashes in its eyes every 5 seconds. makes me sick!
Its a cat.. a huge cat... it sees something moving, it wants to pounce on it, even if it doesn't think of it as food. My cat doesn't try to eat his toys, but he sure enjoys chasing and mauling them. The instinct to hunt goes beyond hunger. She may not have shown agression, but don't delude yourself that she would have taken care of the baby.
@Balint2424242 I agree. I know lions have killed people before, but i really beleive this female lion knew that this is a baby, she wanted to play, not hurt the child.
@TheGetterdone I hope you're being sarcastic, because I'm pretty sure this lion would've killed that kid. lions take on weak prey, and they don't care if it's only a ''baby'' or not.
@NZpower018 her body language doesn't suggest she's trying to attack, it looks more like she knows it's a baby and her motherly instinct is kicking in. if she wanted to eat it i think she'd have been acting more aggressive, but here it seems like she's almost playful. her claws aren't even out.
@SharpiesxD well, I'd LOVE to agree with you, and wish you were right, but no... nature is a bitch like I said. Lions don't adopt human babies, but they EAT babies and children. even though the lioness in this video doesn't have her claws out, doesn't mean she isn't trying to kill the kid. She maybe knows she won't even have to use her claws to kill such a weak prey. like I said, nature is a merciless cruel and unfair bitch.
@NZpower018 i'm not saying she would adopt it, i'm saying she looks more playful than hungry. and even if she didn't need her claws she'd still use them, it's an instinct to use their claws. and wild animals, like lions etc, have protected baby humans/ adopted other species of animals as babies. + she's most likely not a wild animal so she's more curious than anything as to seeing a baby human, because she's obviously used to humans as they feed/take care of her.
@SharpiesxD you say wild animals like lions have protected human babies... can you give me one piece of valid information on that? I DO know about these stories of wild animals adopting the young of other species, and in some cases even humans (feral children). but I've NEVER heared about a lion protecting a human baby before. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this. And i'm afraid a lion will ALWAYS be a lion, either born in captivity or the wild.
@NZpower018 I was not trying to be sarcastic. You are right in whay you say. There was in the news not long ago, a 500 lb Bengal tiger escaped from its cage at a zoo. He walked face to face with a 6 year old girl whos mother was a few feet from her daughter. The tiger and little girl looked at each other, the tiger walked away letting the mother get her child and leave. Nature can be brutal, but it has its gentle moments.
@TheGetterdone well, let me tell you WHY that tiger didn't attack that little girl. Probally because the little girl didn't run away or turn her back to the tiger, concidering tigers usally only sneak at people from behind to kill them, OR if they start running. I'm pretty sure if that little girl would've done either both of these, she'd be DEAD by now. Tigers don't know mercy. They are selfish predators, just like lions.
I never would have thought that a lion trying to eat a baby would be adorable, but you nailed it. Especially when it sounds like he's saying om nom nom nom nom! What I learned on the internet today. Lions think human children look tasty.
It makes sense that a toddler wouldn't be particularly frightened. There's not much of a case for "innate" fear of lions, at least not in small children, so it only makes sense that kids who aren't taught about why lions are dangerous would just see lions as giant kittens.
Oh my god lol...some people are really ignorant of the fact that that lion itself couldn't even break the glass in between them. It would take some serious dedication and team work for them to try to break that, and i don't see that happening over a baby. Get over yourselves! You people have most likely not even been to a zoo.
@jazziscool123 you heard of mothers lifting cars up to save their kids trapped underneath? Sure it's a rumour, but it doesn't surprise me if it's true. Same thing applies with lions. Push anyone or anything enough, and you can't predict just what it could be capable of.
Agreed, looking at this it does show you what it takes to amuse people and in fact if you put anything live and vulnerable in front of a lion(ess) in most if not all cases the lion(ess) will do what it knows best. Whoever think that this lioness is not trying to eat the baby is plain crazy. It is wild animal and will always be wild animal. That is why having wild animals as pets never work. Book stories about wild animals adopting Mawgli is a fiction.
Incorrect, I was just listening to an interview with Ron Magill, director of Zoo Miami and a man who has studied animals in the wild worldwide, and he was asked about this very video and confirmed that the lioness was undoubtedly trying to eat the baby. The lioness views the baby as small and unable to flee/defend itself which makes it an easy meal. To think that it isn't after seeing this is ridiculous
ok.. to everyone out there that thinks the lioness wants to eat the baby... NO she doesnt.. lionesses have such a strong drive to mother cubs they will sometimes take other cubs, or even turn on their male counter parts if other males come into the picture. this lioness could act that way with any human.. the reason she acts like this towards the baby is because she recognizes him as a "cub" if she wanted to eat him, she would be stalking. and staring off from a distance.
I still dont believe these things r right, these animals shud b in open preserves, and people shud take the time and patience to see them in their natural habitat, and to wait for them to trust us enough to come close to us (in Jeeps ofcourse), for there to b and understanding between man and animal. Not box them up where we want them just for us to appreciate in the way we want. Man thinks he can control everything, man is wrong, after a while nature always bites bk to put man in his place.
I don't think the lion wanted to eat the baby. I think she thought it was cute and she wanted to pet it with her paw and pick it up by the scruff of its neck and carry it around like she would a cub. Unfortunately, if she did that with a human baby it would likely die, but I don't think she was being aggressive.
Lets all laugh at the stupid lion trapped in captivity, then go and get ice cream and celebrate our freedom. I wish the glass wasn't there. The parents would have something to laugh about then.
Yes these evil public zoos and there evil evil ways and how evilly they try to educate the public about these animals. You do realize that were the fate of these species left up solely to the ranchers and bush peoples that these animals would likely already be extinct?
@rekke41 You've clearly never been to the Masai Mara, where the people are in cages and the animals get the space they deserve. "zoo" is often used as a derogative term - for a reason.
Irrelevant, the Maasai Mara National Refuge or game preserve, exists because of A) big game hunts and B) tourism. Take those two things away and it's all pasture land, with herders killing every big cat wild dog and hyena they see on sight. Public zoo's help fuel the tourism industry that support places like the Maasai Mara, besides let's not forget captive breeding and reintroduction programs that are supported by zoos all over the first world.
@rekke41 Wow, you really have no idea what you're talking about. Search "Olare Orok Conservancy," then put your head back into the sand. I'm not wasting any more time talking to ignorance.
Oh stick it you light weight of a pseudo intellectual, why is there a conservancy there? Perhaps because of the money tourism brings in, thus creating an interest in creating these preserves. and preserving these animals. Take away the tourism and guess what? That nifty little conservancy wouldn't exist and the herders would go back to killing these animals on sight. I have no problem with correcting you self important popinjay.
Glass wouldn't be such a problem for the lion if it didn't eat so many cupcakes. Try hitting the gym once and a while fatty and then maybe the 4 inch glass wouldn't be such a problem for you. HAHA!
I think it puts things into perfect perspective LION+BABY÷GLASS makes a happy baby. LION+BABY÷NOTHING makes lunch.

ok.. to everyone out there that thinks the lioness wants to eat the baby...

RaikenXion 1 month ago
@RaikenXion I agree but the problem with that idea is that poachers are also on the prowel in their natural habitat.

@kLance2000
Yes these evil public zoos and there evil evil ways and how evilly they try to educate the public about these animals. You do realize that were the fate of these species left up solely to the ranchers and bush peoples that these animals would likely already be extinct?
rekke41 2 months ago
@rekke41 You've clearly never been to the Masai Mara, where the people are in cages and the animals get the space they deserve. "zoo" is often used as a derogative term - for a reason.
kLance2000 2 months ago
@kLance2000
Irrelevant, the Maasai Mara National Refuge or game preserve, exists because of A) big game hunts and B) tourism. Take those two things away and it's all pasture land, with herders killing every big cat wild dog and hyena they see on sight. Public zoo's help fuel the tourism industry that support places like the Maasai Mara, besides let's not forget captive breeding and reintroduction programs that are supported by zoos all over the first world.
rekke41 2 months ago
@rekke41 Wow, you really have no idea what you're talking about. Search "Olare Orok Conservancy," then put your head back into the sand. I'm not wasting any more time talking to ignorance.
kLance2000 2 months ago
@kLance2000

HAHA!
