Urbanbella does cost an arm n leg. lol I'm not sure y natural salons feel that they have to be upscale.
Anyway, hair rules isn't heavy enuff 4 my hair. B/c my hair is sooo thick, I tend 2 gravitate towards heavier products b/c my hair soaks stuff right up. But I did like the softness n smell of my hair w/ HR. I may try locs whn I'm older.
went 2 Urbanbella salon n ATL & bought Hair Rules kink creme. Nice product but a while l8r went right back 2 my natural products, shea butter, aloe vera gel, vege glycerin & coconut oil. Not sure y.
my new saying is "if it ain't broke then why something else that might not work?!"-(original- I know!). How is Urbanbella- it opened after I left ATL. Why does it seem like natural salons cost an arm and a leg? That will be my next rant. Hair Rules was cool but I love my KCCC, my Oyins, my EO conditioner, and Karen's Body Beautiful conditioners- all of them are natural products. I feel like I don't need to do anymore searching- and it feels so great! but trying out products is fun!
Girl I am from Mobile and I grew up in NYC. You know how you contemplate should I or should I not leave a comment? Then I heard you mention the port city. Isn't amazing how many people don't realize that the Boom Boom started there? Well, I will miss your videos, yours and reneezoe's are the first one's to get encourage me about this hair thang. But do you. I'll be Home for Mardi Gras also.
hahhahaha! Hi homegirl!! I went to Murphy High before my family moved back to Cali. I try and go back every year for Mardi Gras- and to get my fill of crawfish! Congrats on the BC- thanks for the compliment and I'll be back to youtube soon. Definitely check me out on fotki curlieyogie.
I will miss your videos. I have been really inspired to try more natural products in my hair. Also, I'm going to start looking into yoga for beginners to get my mind, body and spirit in check for '09. You have really been a great inspiration in a lot of ways :)
that is so nice of you to say! i'm still around. the wonderful thing about yoga is that we are all beginners- constantly getting something new out of a posture (pose). Yoga has been a wonderful blessing in my life- constantly learning and growing! check out sadie nardini- she's a teacher at my studio and she has several vids here. Her book is fab! Thanks again for the kind words.
wow! I just found you tonite and now you are gone! I will check out your other blob on fotki because your hair is so pretty! I hope I can get my hair looking like something. I just did the big chop a few days ago. thanks for all the sharing!! ( ps. maybe you shouldn't worry about the shea butter because it's probably just too heavy for your type of hair)
I'm using the Aphogee line right now. Haven't tried the conditioner that dries hard on your head yet, but I'm using everything else. I'm researching how to twist my hair. I want to do 2 strand twists but need to know what to put on my hair to make it stay in place. Is your hair in 2 strand twists?
naw- for the last few days I've had it pulled back into a puff or bun. I think I'll rock this style for a couple of weeks. As you know I'm all about natural products now- I've been having great success with shea butter (I know! who would of thunk!) You may want to try that- a little goes a long way also flax seed gel would be good too.
You will be missed please come back to support your natural sistas in the not so far future. You were one of the 1st person I met on this site. You inspired me. I hope you achieve what you are looking for and may we see you soon.Peace
wish u all well on your hair journey and researches you were talking about, got inspired to do sth with my hair routines as well from your vids, all the best for year 2009 to u. and bear in mind, the natural the better the eco the better, thats my philosophy to live. inside and outside. never heard of tea as part of an improvement to hair before, it was you who told me about that :-)
that's why the internet is so great! you can get everything you could want- of course there's shipping charges and typically there's a week wait- but you can still get it. Shoot I have to order stuff all the time- but the best thing about the internet is the info it provides- did you really ask for all of that?
I love making hair stuff in my kitchen. I wish you much blessings and I know your going to have banging hair at the end of your natural quest. But you better be back in March!!!
OMG! I'm so sad you wont be doing Vids for a while, but I understand why. Stay in touch in between time.........The Bigger the Fro, the Bigger the Glow, Baby! LOL
hopefully by March I will have a regime. whether i achieve my goal or not i will do a vid in March to let you guys know the "good" and the "ugly"- lol
NOOOOOOO! Who will I exchange fotki addresses with now? Well, Ive enjoyed the ride, I understand you have to do what you have to do. When you find the magic potion, fill us in. Dont go away forever, you'll be missed. Good luck on your journey:-)Bless
yeah- she cracks me the heck up- I do my vids in t-shirts and my yoga clothes- she always looks so pulled together- like she's going to church! She's a sweetie.
:( but I can appreciate what you are doing and stand for...I too am looking for a "magic elixir" LOLOLOL...you look great and your hair looks great...I wish you well on your journey and look forward to seeing you again in the near future
I'm sure my kitchen will look like a meth lab! lol (ok maybe that wasn't so funny) Thanks for the support- I will still be out here looking at videos, getting information, and commenting and asking questions.
