  • The Teen Titans referenced this song in one of their episodes. Someone told me what the reference meant. That's how I got here :D

  • i have a banana but i´m not telling where it is! :-D

  • When I was a child (born 1945) several of Spike's records were resident in our home. I played them so often that I memorised them. Since then, I have managed to collect virtually all of Spike Jones band songs and musical pieces. And don't be misled: it takes a very good band to play so badly while still keeping the tune and cadence. And this was an excellent orchestra.

  • My mother used to sing this to me when she'd do the laundry. "Oh yes we have no babies."

  • i was searching for yes - we have heaven

    and this appeared

  • This is funny :D!

  • .... So where do i get bananas?

  • i think xylophones add a special comedic twist to things.... not sure what it is, but it just makes things funnier. lol. wish we had this kinda comedy nowadays.

  • holy moly so glad i found this! Check out the cover of this from carnival in coal! it's a little bit diffrent...

  • wow

can you imagine saudi person listen to this !

  • there is a question on my homework that references this

  • Great I first heard the name on a Just William tape!

  • omg . here we go again for hours on youtube chasing spike jones . Hehe. thanks

  • Totally marvelous! There is not now and there probably will never be anything like that Spike Jones gang again. Ha-Ha-He-He Bravo Spike and company.

Thanks for posting this hilarious performance. (Nothing hurts when you are laughing,) Eddie in New York

  • Back then you couldnt go into a fruitshop without risking getting this song as an answer

  • Too cool. When I was a kid I discovered my parent's Spike Jones records, along with some Beethoven records. I had it all! The family get-togethers were pretty musical and my uncle Walter would play the washboard (seen here with Spike). Thanks for the upload. Gotta send it to the family kids.

  • This song makes feel very nervous and I don't know why. Maybe it's the tempo of the music, maybe I have an irrational fear of banana shortages? I'm sure there is a scientific term for this.

  • I know this is overused but I HAVE TO! The two people have bananas....>.> Sorry I had to get that outa my system..sowwy :3

  • Incredible, humor about WWII rationing.

  • @foreilly1958 This song is from 1922 and WWII started with the invasion of Poland in 1939; the great depression started in 1929 so we can't blame that neither, it is suggested that the Panama disease started in early 1900 and reached its higher peak in the 50's and affected the banana production areas worldwide being the main cause of the shortage of bananas in the US; but who knows...

  • @12alar1132078oktia It could just be a random song about a lack of bananas...

  • DANG DANG DOOOOOOod

  • Marge: {Oh, that's sweet Homer. Our son _is_ growing up, isn't he.}

Homer: {No, it's not that. Didn't you hear? They have no bananas!

     They have no bananas today...[walks off crying]}

  • I'm 22 yo and "Sabrina" brought me here...

  • "a bagel, thats a doughnut dipped in cement" ?!?!?!?

  • Bananas: STINK.

    hahahahah

  • I learned this song from the book "Kane and Abel" by Jeffrey Archer.

    Am I alone?

  • @hommieJMC Great Book Sir. Great Book.

  • bananas

    queen of moo

  • that one person must have a banana up his butt

  • Please roll me up whatever this guys been smokin!

  • My Dad has a tendency to randomly start singing the chorus... now I know where it comes from!

  • Yes! We have no bananas!!

  • These guys were the masters of inspired lunacy. These numbers demanded the precision of a circus band with a trapeze act. Think it's easy? Anyone want to try? This is a first magnitude example of the comic possibilities in music.

  • The tragedy behind this is that I forgot to go shopping and yes, I have no bananas. I want one, though.

  • how cute the song is~~~yes we have no bananas today~~~:)

  • My great grandfather produced this album, way back in the day.
