Phil doesn't even have the Cowboys From Hell tattoo that he got on the side of his head, I don't know which side from the CFH tour that they released with Rob Halford and Exodus and shit. I'm tryin to find the local show from Halloween 2010 to show my dude but it was on the West Bank with Eyehategod and idfk. PEACE PANTERA BITCHES
What a waste Fat City has become. All the great places gone, no longer showcasing great acts such as this. Fat City was a mecca for original rock music. Now it is a mecca for Mexican culture. Fat City could be such a great entertainment capitol of Metairie, but the government has plans to turn it into some Disney-style shopping oasis. Why? We have a Walmart. What do we need another shopping area for?
Every time the guy with the camera starts zooming in and out real fast the video and audio start fucking up. Hopefully he picked up on that cue to stop that shit because his VHS camcorder was obviously too cheap even in its time.
Reminds me of the days when Fat City was a veritable mecca of hotbed musical talent. A lot of great bands came out of there. Now they want to turn it into a Norman Rockwell Mayberry Disney Doodle, a shopper's dream come true. Just ask poor old Uncle Larry, being run out of business by the quiet zone people. Sorry, but we liked it dirty and raw, like the batture's alluvial soil of the river's ridge. Who Dat Nation, baaaaybeeee!
I agree brother! Once they closed out The Last Stop, Dinos and zeps, it all went down hill...It's a shame that was the hot bed of music in the 70's, 80's and 90's, then poof it's gone. Here comes mickey Mouse and starbucks lol
@thundertyrant dude this is some amazing footage you got here. too bad you didnt put these vids up on youtube earlier before katrina hit. :( but amazing how dimebag and phil changed their looks within 19 months. i think its hard to find any videos between may 20th 1989 to your vid here december 28 1990. thanks for uploading this.
wow,its like a scene from the cowboys, physco holiday vid id gave my right nut to have been at this.listing to them since 1990 im 30 now still love this band. never got to see em for sum reason,.i had tick to my first pantera show ireland..reinventing steel tour, and the twin towers happend, they were stuck in ireland for week gig cancelled, never got to see em, sad times and not just because of pantera, but twin towers eswell.. bin laden wot a CUNT,
lol i read the text and there was (only 40 tapes survived out of 200-300 that I had of local gigs). I readed that first that only 40 people people survived out of 200-300 people from that gig . btw srry for my bad english
Mannn i wish i were you...I born so late. I wish to see soon Down 'cause that would be the closest that i will ever to something of Pantera (don't name Hell Yeah 'cause i don't like them)
see who gives a shit about niggas and hip hop my friends all the fans of metal HXC and rock are more than hip hop gangstas...and we have clubs like hell angels... those people are very powerfull... (sorry for my english)
NOLA used to have a GREAT underground metal scene. The highlight was around this time when metal, as we now know it today was in its infantcy. Anyone from NOLA remember the "Day of Rock and Roll" concerts? "Tips"? "The Warehouse"? I'll go way back, "The Riverboat President"? That's when NOLA was fucking awesome. Now its full of niggers and bums and all the cool places are gone and alot of good people are gone. I don't go there that often anymore because of the crime. Niggers ruin everything
Yeah, I'm livin there now, the punk scene supposedly is good down here, but it's bands that can't afford to aadvertise
Other than that now that the good bands either moved up north or left Louisiana there's almost no metal scene here
We have like 6 good metal bands (Demuredin, Marais Noir, Legions of Hoar Frost, Volatile, Ritual Killer, and Catholicon), but a ton (like almost over 20) of fuckin metalfail (metalcore) bands
Woah this is really weird....my all time favorite band playing in my hometown exactly one day after i was born(12/27/1990)...tell me i wasnt destined to love pantera from the begining lol
This is fucking epic metal for the ages! great footage and sorry about what happened to all your tapes! i would go nuts if i had all those tapes and they got destroyed
