In an MSN article I read recently, some very good points were made regarding religion and "niceness" of people. In fact Denmark and Sweden, which are primarily atheist countries, have expansive welfare and health care services, have a strong commitment to social equality, and they murder and rape one another significantly less frequently than Americans do. Just something to think about.
Because of lack of religion and morals in Europe they think why bother have children, and have responsibility when I can have as much sex as a want, spread STD's, and have abortions if I get someone pregnant or get pregnant.(Then because they aren't replacing themselves, London will have an English minority in 10 years, and Italy as a country will have a native minority!) This is what lack of religion does!
And about Denmark and Sweden, Denmark already has a minority. Sweden is next up!
The start of religion formed values and morals, which everyone lives by and by which the code of law is based off of! Back in the 30s 40s and 50s the strength of religion united the country. It is religion which gives people the will to live! That is why the country was so successful! Additionally, libs/dems favor social programs (education included) that often benefit people of lower income and all races. I am not intolerant whatsoever to religion. I completely support anyone who wants to believe anything they want. Just don't expect me to buy into it.
Please do not say I am intolerant, when I am not. Just because I don't agree with you does not make me intolerant.
And I am not really "liberal." I am independent, and I think for myself. I agree with some Republican ideas, some Democrat, and many that neither party agrees with.

Catholicism isn't the only religion, if you didn't know. Also, Jesus wasn't the one who ruled the countries, nor was it the bible. Jesus gave the Christian CHURCH ALONE, it's morals and values he didn't tell people how to rule.

How about you though, how do you think this whole universe came to be? What do you think happens to you when you die and how the hell do you think people should live their lives? Knowing that they have less than 100 years to live and that they really serve no purpose here on earth other than have their carcass become fertilizer mixed in the ground.
Religion has started everyone's civilized being dating all the way back to the Sumerians! How can you not think or KNOW this?

Well, I only have a masters, not a PhD or anything. Accordingly, I have to rely on theories people smarter than me have to offer. As for now, it looks like the big bang is winning out. The big bang theory can be effectively proven up until a millionth of a second or so after the big bang.
I acknowledge that religion has been around a long time. Just because an idea has been around a long time doesn;t make it true.

I can't say I like Obama at all, being a classical liberal, or nowadays, a paleolibertarian I suppose. Nonetheless, McCain's a bloody idiot. People have pretty much already elected Obama though. In fact, the GOP did that for them the minute they didn't nominate Dr Ron Paul, who was really their only chance against Obama.

I think McCain was one of the worst choices... I agree. But Ron Paul would have been just has bad. Paul is a nut and he doesn't know what he is doing! He doesn't know how to run a government and in fact, he is almost a anarchist. Romney was the way to go from the beginning. He was a strong campaigner with strong values. If it wasn't for Huckaphony not playing fair, Romney would have won! But Huckaphony hated the fact that Romney was a mormon. I have trouble trusting Huckaphony because of that.

Paul's position is to run the government the way it was designed - according to its founding document.
I could cop out as you did by just telling you to read more history; instead I'll just say that it's only in this century where it's been normal to ignore any fiscal sanity and rely on the federal government to do everything it's illegal for it to do under our constitution.
