That was an awesome game. It had a great Shoot & Treasure Hunter feeling. I also liked all these easter eggs like the Disco, racing games, Stargate references, as well as the Multiplayer part you could unlock new maps and chars for.
The soundtrack was great. I loved the SS Anubis theme and the one you hear at the beginning of this video.
I'm definetly with it that a revival on Wii or something would be profitable.

Never could beat this boss....had to get a friend to do it for me. After that, I had no trouble with the rest of the game. Bit of a poor show making the hardest boss in the game number 2.
that was when i was 7 and then i got tot eh asteroid and traversed my way through till i got to the mizar again and that took me another few days. It's ok if you took a while. It was a long game and if your young like i was it's even longer.
I got this game when I was 8 and finished the first boss, then I got to the second boss and i didn't knew how to kill it and I stopped playing. Then when I got 14 I started to play again and it was so easy for me. When I got to this boss I killed those two so fast I did't expected that! Then, after the first fight with Mizar i couldn't find one part of that stupid space ship and I stopped playing it again. With 18 I restarted the game and finished it very fast! It took me less than one week xD

I did that and went to mizars palace and i got the last spaceship part

@Jesse110 Lots of people were unaware you got the last spaceship part after collecting all the tribal bears in every level. once you got all the Tribals you had to return to the pyramid in Mizars Palace and talk to Jeff several times. Then you get taken to the final stage, the Asteroid.

@TheArchitectOfLies There are still games out there that do new things. Assasins Creed comes to mind, one of the few newer games that gives you your moneys worth. I do miss the N64 though, I was 9 when it came out and back in 1996 I had never seen anything like it.
if your still having trouble with the game, i beat if a few times, to get the earplugs you need to get the best score possible on the Floyd mission on the SS Anubis cargo ship, then get the earplugs to the bear who will give you a ship part, then when you rescue all the tribals talk to the guy near the ship in Mizars palace, he will give u a ship part. once you collect all the ship parts you will blast off to the final level wear you battle Mizar(whose harder then the mantises :P ) good luck

Simply a breakthrough game. It really did never get the respect it fully deserved. I personally think this is one of the best adventure games Ive ever played in my life.
That was probably one of the most grueling and attrition based boss battles I've ever played. Took me a while to beat them. By the end of the battle (as I'm sure you noticed) you are short of ammo and you dont have much to deal with them. I was using the plasma shotgun as a last resort when I beat the last one. Doesn't let you get a breather there!

I remember I was in 6th grade and could never beat these guys, and then 2 years later played again and beat them easily. 5 years later and the thing I remember most is the machine gun noise :)

That was probably one of the most grueling and attrition based boss battles I've ever played. Took me a while to beat them. By the end of the battle (as I'm sure you noticed) you are short of ammo and you dont have much to deal with them. I was using the plasma shotgun as a last resort when I beat the last one. Doesn't let you get a breather there!

but i remember that i had not many shots for the bigger weapons.. even harder ahaha
i know i'll probably beat it easily today but i should practice a bit and... get the game lol

God I loved this game so much, the graphics were stunning for its time. Now Microsoft, if you are watching, please bring this to Live Arcade! Though i do miss Rare being a Nintendo affilliate :(

I remember this was so much pain in the ass! Finnaly i beat it with my brothers help, as he was Floyd. He couldn't be floyd otherwise, cause he always killed the bears :(

OMG i loved this game used to play it all the time! lol nice job killing the praying mantis it was also the hardest boss for me. I usually save the red gun for last :)

I beat this boss with relative ease (and that was years ago, I'm only 16 now, I think I was 9 or 10 at the time). The one boss I still can't beat today is the second Mizar fight.

i beat this boss on my haha account on my own.
first boss i have ever beaten in 8 years
i am only 11.
took pistol to take on the arms of both and machine gun for the tails and for the head, trirocket and homing missle.
took about 6 minutes.

When I first played this game, these guys gave me nightmares. They were incredibly hard, and it was VERY easy to run out of ammo against them.

MATT this is probably the hardest boss Ive ever beat in this game. I agree with the people who hate this boss. It took me countless attempts 2 beat these guys. (i unfortunantly never completed this game so I hope it will b available 4 virtual console)
