  • i dont know how to fix it. i have 1x graphic card gtx 560 ti, good pc parts i7 all, still i have 200+++ Fps and the game is unsmooth or hacking, bluring. i havent overcklocked my cpu tho. anny advice how to fix it ? i have tried to lower, higger setting, ressulution, tryed changing stuffz in nvidia Controlpanel and shit.

  • Micro stuttering is my worse enemy. I have only experienced it on first person shooters.

  • fuck this guy is fuckin useless

  • micro stuttering are usually relate to physics effect and ai animation which these are mostly cpu demand. what gpu had done in game is just texture, pixel, polygon, shader and geometry lighting. that is why nvidia attempt to publish the physx and cuda because they know processor had reach to it's limitation on threading, ipc and flout point performance(flops) which these are very important in ai simulation and physics environment in game.

  • The lack of a detailed answer is because the cause behind micro stuttering is still a mystery. People have some ideas as to what causes it but they haven't been able to pinpoint the issue for SURE (otherwise ati and nvidia would've found a solution by now).

Micro stuttering is still a problem even with the latest cards & drivers. Benchmarks keep showing crossfire/sli as amazing setups with great value for your money...but they never mention how many issues can pop up with multi-gpu setups.

  • The GTX 295 has issues with Micro Stuttering!

  • Who`s he smiling at? He`s always look at and smiling at someone at the start! Must be the sexy lady who works nearby!

Anyway, I remember getting micostutters in IL2, used to drive me crazy, but since several upgrades and 5 years I can`t remember getting microstutters any more. Guess it`s all getting better.

  • I had a 9800GX2, which was a dual GPU/PCB videocard. The microstuttering completely destroyed my gaming experience in graphics intensive games such as Crysis in which my card already had a hard time to get 30 FPS stable. I am so glad I got the GTX285 single GPU later on, it's so much more better and smoother (especially at low FPS). I will never EVER go dual-GPU again (whether it's ATI or NVIDIA) untill this problem has been officially solved.

  • What is micro stuttering? Always wondered..

  • @ItsjustagameNUB Microstuttering in a video game differentiates itself from just plain low frame rate. Microstuttering is a short sharp halt in the game for some milliseconds. It often has a regular frequency. Sometimes every 10 seconds. so that means 6 per minute. The tiniest, yet noticeable stop in the framerate. I have my own theory with SLI. Its the texture ram buffering in the bus between the cards.

  • @breebw hmmm IDK sounds like you got them mixed up. Stuttering usually occurs when there is too much data being called and loaded and the PC setup cannot handle it. So if your system has low RAM or VRAM or even a slow HD then stuttering will happen.

Micro-Stuttering appears to be an actual bug related to graphics synchronization in the Game engine, possibly made more noticeable by certain graphics drivers and/or chips.

  • From what he says, a 295 would spell "fail" wrong.

  • if you have 2 cards powerful enough to provide a frame rate higher then the Refresh rate of your monitor then you wont notice micro stutter, so a monitor with 60hz will need a frame rate of 60+ to make micro stutter not noticeable. although it is still happening

  • the only time i see it is when some1 has a bad connection on multiplayer

  • So what is "Micro Stuttering" then? Some kind of artifact?

  • watch?v=rKa2NZVVxVk&NR=1

    should explain it.

  • a sort of lag, because the 2 video card sometimes have problems wich each other. It is not a problem with all cards. It depends on the game you're running.

  • the overhead between multiple Gpu's, AKA microstutter is only noticeable if you have an rare kind of super fast perception

  • i have it with my 2 4890's while playing far cry 2. a constant microstuttering while having 90-100 fps

  • No, u dont. U only get microstuttering, if the minimum fps reaches regions, in which the game gets laggy. For example when play with average 35 frames, the minimum fps might go down to something like 20 fps, only then u get microstuttering. Whith 90 - 100 fps average, your frames may drop to 50 fps or something like that, but theres no way you get stuttering from that.....

  • i'm playing at 90-100 fps (shown by fraps) but the game isn't running 100% smooth. it stutters in small jumps, not much but big enough to be noticed every now and then.

  • You dont get frame drop with microstutter thats why benchmark results arnt affected.

You can definatly get stutter at high fps, infact i dont even call it micrto stutter cus others have said it doesnt exist so whatever is called, At high oe low frames x2 and 295 are affected by it especially its like small frame skips or you could call it lag what ever it is its there and its noticable in nearly everygame ive tested with, and thats a wide range. The one that suffers the least is cod 4

  • far cry 2 is the worst for micro stuttering,

    Even on ONE gpu.

  • If its on a one gpu its more likely that its from fdps(frame drops per second). With duel cards its deffinately micro stuttering.

  • It's got nothing to do with the FPS. It doesn't happen with single cards but only with duel cards. There fore it's a duel card problem. It could be a bottle neck between the connections of the two cards. Maybe a slow bus speed connecting the two cards causing the two cards to be out of sinc. Check to make sure both cards are well connected and connected properly. Also see if you can buy a cable with a faster bus and bigger band width to connect the two cards.

  • i know that, i just said that because i'm sure it wasn't my fps causing the stuttering.

  • I for one think there is no big gains with a two card solution unless it's a one card solution with two processors on it. Thats something i haven't seen since 3DFX went out of buisness. BTW Nvidia owns 3DFX's tech so i wounldn't be suprised if Nvidia comes out with a single card duel processor solution in the future.

  • i don't agree.

there is quite a big performance difference when i disable crossfire (depending on the game offcourse). it doesn't always half the performance but an fps drop of 50 is normal.

  • That is hog wash. I've seen many bench mark tests eg. Tom's Hardware site which post only marginal gains with a two card solution. I noticed only maybe a 20 fps gain in only some of the tests. The reason why yuo don't get twice the fps with a two card solution is mainly because these two card solutions are not true SLI. I had a VooDoo5 5500 with twin chips in SLI back when 3DFX was around which had true SLI and gave me twice the fps not like the cards of today.

  • i never trust benchmark tests.

and i'm not so sure about that, i get more then 150-200 fps on l4d with crossfire enabled where i only get 80-100 fps without cf.

  • You mean like the 9800GTX that came out a couple years ago?

  • Yes the 900 series of cards had issues.

  • i have it with my 285 in cutscenes and 3dmark06

  • 2x295? Gimmie some of that D:

  • He's a freaking rich Richard! :D

  • I feel like I am being spammed with videos lately...

  • I love it. I'm learning a ton with these videos!

  • Me too my entire subs thing is full of these vids. Compile these 1 min vids into a big 5 or 10 mins would be better for us but maybe not for you If its about revenue thats generated from the views?

Obviously 2000 views for each of ten vids

is more money paid to you rather than one 10 min vid with 2000 views.

  • wats micro shuttering.

  • I have never had it but its when half the screen kind of lags behind the other half. and it can be very jumpy (stuttering)

  • thanks much. ;p

  • I heard the GTX295 has lots problems with micro stuttering.

    Sounds like it is true.

Someone I know has 3 GTX280s and doesnt have a problem with it.

  • Try it and you shall see.

  • im having microstuttering with my single gtx295 in css. 299 fps though :D

  • 2x gtx 295 [cough] microstuttering hell!!!

  • Wow that was a really quick response.

    Thanks!

  • Smarties, you really are a smarty pants.

  • in a good way*

  • Wow did you remake the whole video just because a small mistake?

  • I love these videos.

  • rodney can u help me? i got budget 500$

and i wounder iff i should go whit 2 280 1gb in sli or can i use 3 9800gt in tri-sli and 1 other 9800gt as physic each one has 1gb ? Thankz

  • go with whatevers cheaper, you seriously don't need that much gpu power other than if you're playing at 2560X1600 or crysis at best settings.

spend $300 then spend the extra 200 on a sound card or something (your ears WILL thank you)

  • Go with the 280s

  • What FPS games do you play?

    I play cod4, cs:s and cs 1.6

  • Thanks for caring, I rarely see reuploads becuase of 1 mistake(many use annotations to correct it).

So, you like FPS games ? What about some Left 4 Dead on Steam, post an announcement on your group when you can play and maybe some fans will connect ... who agrees :D ?

  • I think he made a mistake... it's Micro Stuttering, not Micro Shuttering... he probably corrected it and re-uploaded

thanks for caring Mr. Reynolds! :D

  • You're welcome ;)

  • what is micro stuttering? o.o

  • GOOGLE IT!

  • Comment removed

  • Because I made a mistake in the first one and I don't want to mislead people. So I corrected it and re-uploaded.

  • reup ?

  • cool
