Is Roberta really that clueless after all these years? She said "it was not a fashion scene". OF COURSE IT WAS. Does she think it was some kind of coincidence that hundreds of people who converged on CB's every week all happened to like motorcycle jackets, 60's style sneakers, spiked hair, post-glam accessories (a little leopard skin, a dash of lame') and vintage clothes? Punk was a total revolution that included music, art, fashion and everything else. People are still dressing punk in 2009.
I think that collective sense of punk style you've described didn't happen early on at CBGB's and you only caught the first sentence of what she went on to elaborate before the German dubbing took over. She was comparing it to the English scene and she mentioned that in England it was a bigger fashion scene, which is very true.

Das Ende enthält Ausschnitte eines Ramones-Konzert und die dürfen auf Youtube nicht gezeigt werden, daher fehlt das Ende. *dastotaldämlichfindet*

Wow, Richard Robinson in the crowd.
"Rock Scene" was the official mag for the beginning time. The whole thing lasted a year or two. Lotta crappy bands and a few good ones.
Television were magic and incomparable.
