At the same time, Iranian Jews for the most part get along well with their Muslim neighbors, most of whom are also disgusted with there. I lived amongst Iranian Jews in the USA and in Israel. They're all proud of their Iranian heritage but they HATE the regime. They all have Muslim Iranian friends too. And of course, they're all Zionist, & the ones in Israel proudly serve Israel. (Israel has an Iran-born ex-president and an Iranian-born head of the joint chiefs of staff.)
The Jewish community in Iran has a few government-appointed spokesmen who kiss the regime's ass, like Uncle Toms.(I appreciate that they are in a difficult position.) They HAVE to denounce Israel,Zionism, etc. in order to survive & for the shrunken Jewish community that remains in Iran to survive. But it's HILARIOUS that idiot Westerners like you take the canned statements of the spokesmen of Iran's Jews at face value like it means they approve of the government there.
Let's be clear-the majority of Jews who've stayed in Iran are either elderly (too old to contemplate moving)or have a lot of assets, homes, money tied up & are afraid to lose it all. They're not staying b/c they love the ayatollahs! The truth is most Iranian Jews gladly gave up their fortunes to get the hell out of Iran post-1979, but the remainder are afraid. They can stay & practise Judaism, but are under constant surveillance,as long as they keep quiet about politics, they're OK for the most part
The Iranian Jewish community is today down to about 20,000 from about 150,000+ that they had at the start of the 1979 Khomeini revolution. The majority have left for the US,UK,and of course,Israel(where Iranian Jews have been migrating to for 100s of years.)Now,a lot of Jews of Iranian heritage do incdeed have pride in Farsi language, music, culture, etc. but they have no love for the despotic Islamist regime.
