  • @AllThingsHarlem

What the police are doing is police brutaility and violates your amendment rights and civil liberties given to you under the constiution. I am fighting to change the laws, I believe this is completely unacceptable and America is seriouslly int he drain if the drug policy is we are still arresting people for Marijuana there are drugs that are much more harmful we should regulate and legalize marijuana like alcohol and other drugs that are legal.

  • mate if they dont legalize weed aka marijuana in the next couple of years , I wont have no fate in humanity ... i mEAN THIS IS BULLSHIT .. cuffing a man for smoking a joint ..what is the world coming to ..fucking pathetic..

  • Officers working in HARLEM and other HIGH CRIME AREAS in the city arre perceived as being racist and hostile so to prove to those who are quick to judge like the one recording the officer showed that he was acting within lawful guidelines. In many cases good arrests are made as a result of a small offense violated. the man is arrsted for Criminal Poss. of Marijuana a Misdemeanor offense. If no other charge and if no Active warrant he will be released from pct in 2hrs with a desk appe. ticket.

  • When common-sense and common justice become UNcommon, the Nation is doing DOWN. Look at the incredible irony and hypocrisy here -- While TRILLIONS are being, have been, systematically looted on Wall Street where people have lost their pensions and life-savings, losing their homes, saddled with unpayable public debt by the most unprincipled financial gangsters & political cons, half-a-city-away people are being preyed-on by a corrupt police-and-law bureaucracy over petty bullshit. INCREDIBLE ...

  • good for that man

  • god , im happy my hometown is the netherlands

out her on the streets u can u smoke walk by

atleast they will point u to move to a spot wher

its silence a park ' or some spot at the water.

  • fuckn pig

  • That footage is just sad. I hope you find a way for your community to tell your police force what YOU find acceptable and what you don't. These are your tax dollars being used, so you have a big say!

  • Sir it is a UNLAWFUL possession of marijuana. The police were justified in every possible way to arrest that man

  • @joedinaadi Given the video footage which did not show the "perp" immediately prior to the police encounter, and without hearing the police officer and the perp's testimony as to how the police recovered the joint, it is gross speculation to claim that the police were justified in every possible way to arrest that man.

  • Usually the arrest is justified only if the cannabis is burning or open to public view. Most of the 50,000 cannabis arrests that happen each year in NYC are the result of illegal stop and frisks that end up being an "empty your pockets" scenario with police then claiming that the cannabis produced is in "open view" justifying the arrest. But if you look at the basis for the initial stop it's usually complete bullshit.

  • First you said 23 bullets then 21 which one was it. And yes sit

  • i like that video. good job jazz ;)

  • These stupid cops make their jobs dangerous everyday.

  • Did that cop really hold up that joint to show he was accomplishing something. I am white and spent pretty much my whole teenage years playing cat and mouse with the Gestapo NYPD. They caught me a few times. Always illegally searched(every single time). One time they even took my car keys out of my pocket unlocked my car searched found two bags of pot and i spent the night in central bookings. The NYPD is completely out of control!!!!

  • yeah "Record this too".... LMAO!!!! even he had to be a little bit embarrassed for holding up that roach but then again he was probably proud of himself..

they really need to get rid of that law anyways... it was based off of racism since the law was put in place back in the 1930's . and they only made it illegal because minorities smoked it. to think even today so many black people go to jail for weed in 2011. based off a law that was created during the time of Jim Crow. Can you believe that?

  • i live in the Netherlands and its legal here . and its pretty easy to get even if you are under 18 ;) im 16 and i've expierienced it . how is it in the US? is it easy to get? what are the charges for having/smoking it? i'd like to know

    sorry for my bad english

  • UPM, look it up? Its not decriminalized so what r u talkin about, its a violation, = to a parking ticket. CPM is a misdemeanor, smoking in public. U blame the cops, they dont make the law, just enforce it. As for racism, did u not c the big black cop? Cmon? Really?

  • nice vid, completely agree with you....whats the song?

  • For the Record, this person was probably charged with something else. Having Burning Marihuanna in a public place is a misdemeanor and you can be arrested for it. Possession, and having a rolled joint/cigarette is two separate things

  • If you don't like it do your part to change the law. Don't criticize the "LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER" for doing just that, enforcing the laws you don't agree with. Whether the police had a quota to fill or not. They could not fill it unless people broke the law. Consumption of drugs in a public place, come on!

  • of course the stupid ass thug wants to harass the police. weed is illigal, dumbass. they'd like to be out catching murderers but instead they have to deal with this asshole

  • Ok first off.... don't do drugs ya fucking morons.. pretty simple don't u think?.... second off, notice the host of this ghetto-IGNANT fucking video, is recording only the WHITE officer and not the colored.. coincidence maybe?...fuck nooo this man has no education about drugs.. stick to the 9-5 u idiot and go record your people and how bad of a name they give themselves.. oh wait to latee this video is outtt!!!

  • @JackMeholf1234

you say "dont do drugs" so please think about these words you say next time when you smoke a ciggarete or drink some booze(alcohol)

and think how a stupid naive hypocrite person you are!

    THANKS

  • AND SORRY FOR THE TYPOS

  • PEOPLE WANNA KEEP BULLSHITING WALKING IN THE STREET SOMKING THINKING THEY NOT GONNA GET CAOUGHT....AND THE BOY FUCKING UP HIS OWN LIFE ALL BY HIM SELF BY SOMKING THE COPS JUST DOING WHAT THEY GOTTA DO. NO ONE GOES TO YOUR JOB AND TEELS YOU WHAT TO DO SO LET EM WORK....IF YOU DONT DO DUM SHIT THEN YOU GOT NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT GO ABOUT YOUR DAY JUST KNOW IF YOU DO DUM STUPID SHIT SONNER OR LATER YOU WILL GET LOCKED UP AT THE END OF THE DAY IT IS WHAT IT IS SORRY TO SAY MY BROTHA

  • FUCK PIGS go find a fuckin meth lab pussys

  • Get that crackhead off the street. Who bought this nigger a computer anyway.

  • the man in this video, if he had been white, would the creator of this video still feel the same?

  • Let me set the record straight. Marijuana is a drug. It makes you high. Over the years it has changed. It comes from the earth, BUT things are added to it like angel dust, Coke, etc. Now when that person is going nuts out or gets into a car and kills you or a loved one don't complain that we these drugs need to be taken off the streets. Marijuana does intoxicate. I've tried it and it fucks you. People that hate cops have no idea what it is like to be one. You don't help by harassing them either

  • whoever the guy is recording this is a savage perp

  • Instead of negatively stereotyping the people that are protecting you and your family , how about you bring your concerns to your local politicians like say umm... Charlie Rangel

  • Marijuana is illegal and police have a job to do . Are they supposed to turn a blind eye because YOU feel its wrong. Relax the cops in harlem to the best they can given the circumstances. They fight crime w/ absolutely no help from the community . Before you make these videos you should look in the mirror and realize if nyc and its residents didnt want these laws enforced , voters would do away w/ them .. But they dont .. Instead of making videos that negatively stereotype the people that are p

  • Italian Mobsters with badges... thats all..

  • I COULD NEVER AGREE WITH SOMEONE MORE.....THIS MAN WITH THE VIDEO TAPE IS SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT GOD DAMN GUY THAT FOLLOWS THE COPS AND ARGUES FOR NO REASON

THIS GUY IS JUST TELLING FACTS AND BEING REAL AS SHIT WHILE MAINTAINING HIS SINCE OF KNOWLEDGE AND PEACE...

    WELL SPOKEN MAN

  • Great work NYPD! Keep us safe!

  • @taino4281, nigga shut ya ass up. that was probly u that arrest the dude for the little joint

  • Comment removed

  • That's some messed up statistics man ! seriously, the police are focussing on the wrong area it seems !

  • Land of the free?

  • The police are only part of the problem; there are the courts and the legislators who pass these laws telling people what they can and can't put in their bodies. It is the lawmakers that criminalize behavior they don't like. And, it is robots like you that accept their bullshit without question. You're a follower. You lack a mind of your own.

  • @AllThingsHarlem Hell yeah! You know what's up.

  • @AllThingsHarlem I do agree that the NYPD has gotten out of control. But I'm afraid this bullshit won't end until both Bloomberg and Kelly leave. Kelly obviously doesn't believe in community policing. He's of the "military" style (strong arm) policing. I recently watched a video "An Afternoon with the NYPD", that displays completely outrageous behavior from the NYPD. But it really does differ from borough to borough and from precinct to precinct. Here in Queens.

  • @AllThingsHarlem we have the best officers. I get the sense that harassment occurs mainly in brooklyn and the bronx. The police officers in manhattan aren't that great either. After having watched several videos of "Critical Mass" cyclists being assaulted, I quickly lost respect for officers in manhattan. This needs to become a federal matter, otherwise the problems here in the NYPD will never be properly investigated. NYC now, is like how LA was 20 years ago before the riots.

  • well dont blame the police, they are doing their job. no matter how small the quantity, marijuana is still illegal and it should be enforced. if you dont like the laws to be enforced, dont break them. better yet, moved the fuck out to where ever the hell you came from....

  • In conclusion, Captains and higher Ranked officers are forgetting the true essence of police work. ENFORCING THE PETTY STUFF IS GOOD; HOWEVER, THATS A POLICE OFFICERS DISCRETION TO ENFORCE NOT A CAPTAINS, BLOOMBERG OR KELLYS DISCRETION BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN THE FRONT LINE. Because of the quotas, REAL COPS (Transit, Housing, precincts) don't allow them to do their job, think or even act for themselves. The higher ranks are just hurting the relationship b/w cops and the community.

  • @A1exDaGreat I share your analysis of the problem but I hear nothing from you on the solution. Should we silently consent to having an institution that is carried by our tax dollars define its mission, and control us with fear and intimadation so that they can please their masters? What is the solution?

  • @AllThingsHarlem, sad enough to say, there is no solution.

  • You see high ranked officers and Police Plaza have these meetings with different precincts. Its like they seat down in a round table and discuss each precincts activity; therefore, its like a precinct competition. Who ever keeps winning the most, the more Captains for each precincts gets promoted.

  • So who do we blame for all this, well your friendly neighborhood spiderman Commissioner Kelly and sitting down all day high ranked officers in police plaza. You see people may not know this but Kelly may one day run for Bloombergs spot. Kelly and Bloomberg are very close. When kelly comes to take over Bloombergs spot, Bloomberg will help kelly with his finance to get in bloomys position. Not only that, Captains of the NYPD get promoted based on police officers performance.

  • We all know NYPD has quotas. The sad part about it is that we are blaming the wrong people ( Transit, Housing, and precinct cops) who happen to be the back bone of the NYPD. Police supervisors with the blue shirt and gold shields are pressured by their supervisors for higher numbers; therefore, higher ranked officers are also told the same thing. So now this creates tension with the community. Police Officers has to enforce the small stuff in order to make arrest and keep the numbers high.

  • Now, lets get to the good part. Why was he arrested? How did the Officers find the pot. Was the person arrested fit a description of a criminal? There are so many things that could had happened before this video. People video tape things and say what they only see; therefore, I can't say something in fact if all the facts aren't there.

  • Cops don't care about weed. Most cops care more about guns and other weapons. In reality, if your ignorant ass would have not filmed the arrest, cops could have let him go. Im not mentioning no names but I seen it happen so much when cops find weed and just lets them go. Also, depending on the amount, if its a small bag they can just issue you a ticket. if your an asshole yapping your mouth they will bring you in. The real question you should be asking is WHY WAS HE STOPPED IN THE 1st PLACE?

  • despicable- we let them do this?-- what can we do?

  • it's also funny that the hateful racist old schwarzer running the camera is speaking as if the two pieces of shit that were shot because of their own doing trying to kill each other like the saveages they are a little while back are victims of the police... what backward views, that's why your "community" is a pile of dog shit... but it's ok, all those beautiful new condos that arent section 8 popping up everywhere, you'll be pushed out soon enough!:)

  • in nys posessing less that 7/8 of an Oz. is criminal posession of marihuana, which is a PL violation you can recieve a criminal court summons for in lieu of an arrest... but... if you are seen smoking it than it is a misdemeanor, not a violation, which you must be arrested for, and no summons can be issued. if you don't like it, than don't break the law in public you fucking savage animals. you should smoke it within the confines of your shitty bed bug infested project apartments.

  • @yankeed1 "There is in all of us a strong disposition to believe that anything lawful is also legitimate. This belief is so widespread that many persons have erroneously held that things are “just” because the law makes them so." ~ Frederic Bastiat

Isn't freedom of speech grand?! I thought I recognized this diatribe. When you look pass the attempted employment of emotions; to cloud the conversation with potential disrespectful exchanges. It becomes clear as you observe

  • @EuphoricImpact the rally made to yankeed1's target audience that we are dealing with a neurosis. A possible genetic or learned pathology? This aggressive, corrosive attack is a mere backflow of Reagan's ideology. When he said, "We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions." I always enjoyed the fact his

  • @EuphoricImpact speech writers substituted society for government. I know the purpose for this action is varied however, the main one is equating the two concepts.

Indeed there is personal responsibility that has to be taken into consideration. Draconian law or not we must know the score! But that avoids the main philosophical issue. Is it appropriate for the government or its agencies to determine if a substance is or is not appropriate for consumption? Also, is the

  • @EuphoricImpact government addressing the corporate entity or the individual; when making reference to the expected submission to legal dictates?

The "law breaker" did not appear to be a cruelly rapacious person. Now there can be a case made that your racist mockery was a mere composition of poor forecasting, and incorrect descriptive foolery. It would be interesting if you had a vested interest in attempting to create a rift in the discussion? Perhaps you were a

  • @EuphoricImpact member of a certain lobby group, hate group or police officer, etc..

Until Orwellian tactics (refer to 1984) are resolved we have a possible problem.

The reference to "shitty bed bug infested project apartments"....is this real time observation or is this mislabeling, assumption, stereotyping, prejudicial assessment and race baiting?

Another question you may entertain is, has your verbal violence become your own reason?

  • i live in ny and wana be in the NYPD....but i agree a joint shouldnt be enuff to take a person to jail...who knows tho mayb he gave the cops a hard time when they rolled up or mayb he didnt have ID or mayb he had a warrant..its sad

  • @astoriazfinest13 or mayber the police were trying to fill quota's and look good for their boss. You saw how proud the one officer held the joint like it was a big accomplishment. Check out information on police quotas, search NYPD Police Tapes by from the Village Voice and Jim Hoffer's Channel 7 Eyewitness news piece on the issue. Message us if you need the links.

  • good job NYPD keep us safe!

  • The legislators in upstate New York are battling changes to drug sentencing laws. It is my understanding it is because it would reduce their voting power. These legislators need the prisoners to count as residents. How pathetic...all American needs change from this rule of law.

  • say it is a bogus concept that anyone can tell you it is illegal to put something in your body. I am not stating there should not be legal consequences for poor decisions that lead to damages or death.

I was doing some research in responding to another YT video entitled, "Blacks: Ignore The Stats and Bury Their Heads." You should look into that video. Anyway I found out that [by reading the works of Frosty Wooldridge, "War On Drugs - Parts 1-5 New Jim Crow - Slavery]

  • @EuphoricImpact Thanks for the info.

  • @EuphoricImpact Thanks for the info. We at allthingsharlem have been intensely covering police community relations in Harlem and we have found with all of these stop frisk that the frisk clearly indicates that the target is drugs. In this video they grab the man by his throat and his jaw to make sure he doesn't swallow the contraband---which clearly could not be a knife or gun.

  • drug offenses than in the past quarter century." This quote is found in his article entitled, "Failed Drug War Now Targets Whites." But this article does not address sentencing.

Though this is an interesting fact it is still alarming that anyone would be jailed for this. One point he does make in the article is that when white Americans are busted it, normally, is done without fanfare. Something to think about. But without compounding the issue with color...I want to

  • leave with a criminal record at best and serious jail time on average.

It use to be that minorities tend to busted more often for possession and trafficking. However, Earl Ofari Hutchinson on April 19th 2009 reported for the Huffington Post that,..." the Sentencing Project, a Washington DC based criminal justice reform group, found in its annual report on imprisonment that more whites are going to jail for drugs, and that blacks are being jailed at a slower rate for

  • I think the laws need to be reformed concerning this plant. It is my understanding that 25 grams or less (first and second offense) in NY is a fine ranging between $100-200. There is not suppose to be incarceration for the 1st and 2nd offense. It is the draconian laws and the doors that they open that are alarming. Also as a student of legal procedures (a hobby) it amazes me the double standards that exist. The affluent break the rules and have a slap on the wrist. Others

  • They are avoiding real crime, cause that's dangerous. That's why the world is what it is. No one wants to be a real hero. Just look like one.
