  • Yeah..Jeff was taken away from us too soon..Jeff with David Sanborn on sax..(Midnight Music on NBC)1987..too good

  • Introduce it as a Bob Dylan song... play Jimi's lines...

  • The ending where they jam in unison is face melting. I just picked up my eyebrows off the floor.

  • THANK GOD FOR YOU TUBE ;-)

  • If Jimmy could hear this his heart would leap with joy. A rock/jazz fusion of his masterpiece.

  • @docholein1 Bob Dylan wrote this.

  • @Element404 Bob Dylan may have wrote it but it was Jimi's masterpiece

  • @guitarguy7894 Great song. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece though.

  • @Element404 just because you wouldnt doesnt mean others wouldnt, i think it is a masterpiece. The guitar is very haunting, especially in the solo. It so different from dylans version, a totally new song.

  • I have to agree. Two genius level musicans but the combination does not work with this song. With respect.

  • @someofem Jeff Healey should have been a bit louder....... his rythem seems kind off too because of it i believe...

  • very sloppy and choppy but i enjoyed this

  • Lets face it. You can't just do Stanley Jordan type tapping at an instant. His songs are well composed and aren't just something he just comes up with randomly.

It's like expecting an orchestra to jam.

  • @lyndsayiu5 More like Stanley is great at his thing (two-handed tapping like a piano player), but he is not good at playing regular guitar in a situation like this. His talent is very specialized and only really works on it's own. That's the problem with that style.

  • THE BEST!!

  • Stanley can rock hard, but in this particular performance, he did not, for whatever reason. Still, he remains an absolute genius and master musician, just not on htis night.

  • Awesome!

  • The two tappin monster Masters ever!

  • Great footage of two of the greats.

  • @Thegroovetet Weel, one of the Legends and another guy who was OK.

  • this dude is a killer like a charlie parker on sax but him totaly different this is a gift from god

  • what a feast

  • guys??? , it's not out of tune , it's an effect called "Flanger" or very very much "Chorus" . both effects alike

many blueseman add chorus to their tone ...

  • Stanley Jordan is my all-time favorite guitarist and jazz musician, but this is terrible -- has to be the worst performance by him I have ever heard.

  • @richcapo I have to agree with you. Stanley Jordan is an amazing musician, but you can't tell by this performance - lol.

  • @LUckybones25 what are you talking about?!?!?!?!?!? stanley's licks are amazing here!!!!!! he is transitioning between jazz and rock guitar within the same performance, that shows outstanding musicianship!!!

  • @IAMJOHNNYTHEFOX I'm quite aware of Stanley's musical prowess... I just didn't really "get" this performance, because I know how amazing he really is. Just my opinion of course ;)

  • Jeff could play jazz too id like to hear these guys go at it

  • For a jam, this is 5 star man.

  • in the last part you can really see the guitarists talking to each other.. both of them have great "ears" cool vid!

  • very cool!!

  • stanley doesnt look like a "crazy tapper' in this video :(

  • jeff healey is truley an inspiration to me and many others, agreed stanley isnt the top of the game on this one but jeff healoey at any point is always going to be an incredible and inspirational guitarist to all. RIP Jeff

  • Wicked. Stanley isn't playing his normal piano-style!

  • If I had auditioned like that, they would have shown me the door. Pure jobbies!

  • who r U???

  • That interplay at the end is WAY COOL peeps! Too cool for school.

  • why stanley plays so bad?

  • michael hedges does the best cover of this tune, dont know if its on youtube, but i really reocommend it. but stanley jordan's playing and tone isnt doing it for me

  • I still prefer Hendrix's

  • cant argue

  • how did he manage to tune the guitar like that during the song hes really something ...

  • if you hold the body or in this case the neck to your ear you can hear it really clear. By striking two strings at the same time you can hear how they ring together and tune them that way. Jeff obviously couldnt see a LED tuner, and his ear was well trained, so this worked for him.

  • when its out of tune you can hear a vibration in the sound waves, the further out of tune, the longer the waves. as you tune it the vibrations get smaller and eventually disappear when your tuned

  • isnt being out of tune, those wider waves called dissonant, and the disapearence of the waves, being in tune, being consonant?

  • they could be playing fifths though and that would be out of tune but still sound fine, its like the halfway point

  • Stanley is still raw!!

  • thaks a lot man!! I can't believe what these two guys are doing with the guitar!! Man!! wooouo

    RIP Jeff!!

  • THANKS!!

    RIP angel eyes..
