  • Who was that saying "Stay tuned for 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman...' NEXT!"?

  • Thanks for this... unlike many markets, it is really difficult to find older news clips from Augusta, where I grew up...

  • Those graphics were TERRIBLE for 1995 standards

  • @JMDogg Yes but it was 1995...

  • One more note: This is from 1/8/95.

  • @FutureNewsAnchor My bad. Correcting the description now. Thank you for catching that.

  • Wait... this was '95, and yet, they aired an AFV repeat from 1992 at 7:30 on that Sunday night. By this point, the Saget AFV was already in syndication. I thought that they didn't show episodes from that far back in 1995.

  • @FutureNewsAnchor Yes this was 1995. On the VHS, there were two episodes of AFV, there was the new episode (1995) which aired at the time you said, and there was another episode that aired from a previous season immediately following (1992). I'm not quite sure what is up with the time schedule, because after those two episodes there would naturally be at least a couple of more hours of ABC Network programs (especially Lois and Clark which was announced was coming at the end of the second).

  • @baseballplaaya07 There'd be three more hours of ABC Sunday left after the second AFV episode (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and the ABC Sunday Night Movie.) ABC would air an older episode of Funniest Videos at 7:30 on Sundays after the all-new episode at 7:00. I would imagine that the rerun would have been from Season 6, not from a few years earlier, ESPECIALLY considering that Saget episodes were in syndication.

  • @baseballplaaya07 I wonder if somebody at ABC played the wrong tape. I'm going to investigate this.

  • @FutureNewsAnchor Unless WJBF pre-empted shows or aired them out of order at the time.

  • The package is not Newsleader (as the NMSA seems to have identified it as)...it's Newsmusic Central's Prime News. These are particularly jazzy cuts of this REALLY awesome package. (Did I mention it was really awesome?)

  • @raymieX Hey, do you happen to know when WJBF started using it? I'll update the NMSA to reflect it. It's funny because I don't know of any other station using the Prime News package using cuts like this, or at least on NMSA...

  • @baseballplaaya07 No (I live in Arizona and have most of my life): try WOIO and WSBT on the NMSA. I have not heard the first cut before with the prominent sax (it reminds me of WMAR's Counterpoint open with lots of sax). Second cut seems new. Third cut is like WSBT, sample 2.

  • @raymieX Thanks. I'll update the NMSA. I want to say that it was used from 1994-1997 or 1998, since the package doesn't go back further than 1993, and that's mainly when most other stations began to use it. I know for a fact WJBF began using Counterpoint in 1998. Thanks for your help!
