@tickyul the human species is not so diverse that we are so different from each other. Countless studies have shown the health benefits of a vegan diet, in fact the United Nations recommend the diet based on health and environmental reasons. You know that when something as big as the UN make a claim like that, there's a mountain of evidence behind it.
The important thing is to get proper nutrition and eat the right food, eating only vegan junk food, for example, is obviously no good.
Low carbs diets may be useful for those who have been out of balance because of a high REFINED carbs and sugars. But avoiding carbs is just nonsense. The reason people have problem with carbs is that they lack the proper nutrients (B vitamins, minerals, enzymes) to utilize them properly. Lack of sleep and excess stress is a problem too. Getting the proper nutrition and getting your carbs from whole nutritent rich source is the solution, not atkins and other crazy diet that get you into ketosis.
Very interesting. I think I'll want to watch this. I wonder what other kinds of issues raw foods can help repair. Maybe a good start would be to have one fully raw meal every day. I guess I kind of do that for breakfast with fruits (well a banana, an apple) and a handful of raw almonds.
Doctors do actually prescribe healthy diets for patients, but because they only have 15 minutes per patient, they dont go into it in detail. doctors put a patient on a diet plan but it is too difficuolt for the patient so the patient does not follow through. then, they get sick and have to rely on western medicine. Its up to each person to follow through on his or her diet. documentaries like this help motivate, but how long will that motivation last??
Doctors and pharmacuiticle industry don't and will never promote natural health food for medicine they will go out of business if everyone realizes eating living food is the answer to all preventable diseases, illness and sickness.
Doctors study pathology (death) pharmacology (death) How would they know anything about life! Sadly they are some of the most ignorant people on the planet, but there ego's tell the otherwise.

Natural or not, I feel best when my diet is mainly composed of cooked animal. I believe that it has become very trendy for people to consider meat as bad and unhealthy, I feel nothing is further from the truth. Meat has a list of health benefits that make just about every other food (except eggs) look pretty weak in comparison. From the high quality absorbable amino acid profile to the very absorbable iron it contains, meat is a great food.
@Stonewalljackson7 Uh, my opinion is wrong? So, you mean that I do not feel good when I eat a diet high in meat, as I have stated? Or do you mean to suggest that meat is not a good food? If you have read anything about nutrition you would know that the biological availabilty of nutrients in animal products is so much greater than blechy plant foods. Also, the actual level of various nutrients is mch higher in meat/eggs.
@tickyul Maybe meat does make you feel good, but it is probably just in your mind. Liquor makes you feel good too, but that doesn't mean its good for you. I've read tons about nutrition. Which nutrients are you talking about? the saturated fat, sodium or cholesterol. Nutrient availability isnt higher in meat, and even if it was it would'nt make any difference cause you can get more than enough from plants.
@Stonewalljackson7 Uh, that is kinda a crummy comparison, equating the effects of food to alcohol. sodium is not high in meat or eggs as long as your do not add any. Lots of meat is actually higher in other fats besides saturated, saturated in my book is not bad when eating a low carb diet. Do I have to go over the vast superiority of meat in supplying the body with b vitamins, iron, taurine, d vit, a vit, efa's.....should I go on?
@tickyul vitamin d needs are easily met with 15 minutes exposure to the sun daily. Almost all vitamins requirements can be easily met with a plant based diet. Meat is too high in protein, particularly methionine. Protein restriction, especially Methionine restriction is believe to be as effective in prolonging life as calorie restriction. very small amounts of meat wouldn't be harmful, but there is NO need for it.
@Stonewalljackson7 Yes, but the sun cannot always be relied upon for Vit d. And I am not a advocate
of tons of protein, a bias towards a higher fat diet is optimal in my opinion. Man and animals have selected the fatty parts of animals as the best thing to feed on, muscle is not prime eating. I think a good guideline is your lean bodyweight (total weight minus fat) in grams is a good goal for protein consumption.
@tickyul Meat is far from being the best source of b vitamins. Same thing with iron, it depend which type of meat. Iron from meat is also damaging to the digestive tract. Taurine is usually not essential, if you fing you are lacking taurine I would rather recommend taking supplements instead of meat. The only animal product thaht is a source of vit D and EFA is fish. EFA are far more concentrated in plant (flax, hemp, etc..) sacha inchi oil is 90% EFA. Vit D is found mushroom and fortified food.
@tickyul It's more reliable and safer to get your vitamin D from the sun (or tanning salon) and or supplements. The sun should be your first choice. Vitamin A is higlhly toxic if too much is taken, that's why I recommend getting it from beta-carotene, when your body made enought you'll stop converting it. Beta-carotene is not toxic.
@XNinjaSebX If you are eating regular amounts of organ meats you are not going to get sick, maybe if you go crazy with the supplements yeah, regular food......highly unlikely.
@kylextown24 Care to expand on your top of the line reply? Do you mean that I will be sickly like those high carb eatin type 2 diabetics? All of my health markers are excellent. I ate 3 meals today, 3 large meals and was never really dissatisfied with any of them, no real hunger. Eggs, meat, pork rinds....yummo.
@tickyul Where do you find you vitamin C and E, fibers, vitamin K essential sugars (mannose, glucose, galactose, xylose, fucose, N-acetylglusosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine and N-acetylneuraminic acid), potassium, magnesium, folate, thiamin, copper, manganese, GLA, tryptophan, leucine, riboflavin, vitamin B6, chromium, silicon as well as all the other antioxydant, antifungal, anticancer, antimicrobial, immune-boosting, adaptogenic, detoxifying, and other protectives compounds only found in plants?
@XNinjaSebX Uh, where did you hear me coming out AGAINST plant food. Most Atkins type diets include plants as the main form of what little carbs there are in these diets. And, I hate to tell you, there is no need to eat carbohydrates in your diet....it is nice to do, but not neccessary. Protein can easily be converted to Glucose for whatever carbs are needed in the body. Also, the more Keto adapted you are, the less you rely on carbs.
@tickyul ''There is no need to eat cabohydrates'' This is just wrong. Maybe glucose is not essential ( it can be made by breaking down fats and protein which take much more time, energy, enzymes. nutrients and leave you with alot of toxins) you probably haven't heard of essential sugars haven't you? Why take the risk of going into ketosis when you can get what you need in it's purest form... that's just ridiculous. Atkins and other carb phobic diet are not suitable for highly active people.
@XNinjaSebX What risks are there from going into Ketosis, it is a perfectly natural state. The danger is KETOACIDOSIS, a highly unlikely state except..... for type 1 and sometimes type 2 diabetics. And if you are participating in very endurance intensive exercise, fat is a great fuel. If you need the explosiveness of carbs, eat some fruit or veggies in youir diet, that is hardly a problem, 20 grams carbs is THE ATKINS STARTING POINT FOR CARB INTAKE. Essential Sugars.......hahaha.
I WONDER what happened to the native american who quit during the 30 day raw diet. I hope he's still alive. He looked very sickly including his family members. There were two cousins of his that came to pick him up at the tree for life in Arizona and both were also morbidly obese and I am sure were also suffering from diabetes. Buy the VIDEO folks! it's awsome or check out your local library. I got mine from a library and this video is awsome. I had my mom try it and her blood sugar is now nrmal
@wahabakbar I think with his case they needed to do a slower detox diet with him.. He was in a world of ill health and the sudden change was too much for his body. I've recently found the Mini Beet Protocol outlined by Robert von Sarbacher. go to robertvon . com and also search his name on oneradionetwork . com
@extremecatfighting how do you do it?? I'd like to try it, but I have no idea where to start. Like, I'm at college now and all they serve is fast-food type stuff. And I hate it. How did you do it??
You argue that food is simply for nutrients. What's the point in chefs going to school? Food is also an art. That's like saying sex is only for reproduction.
I'm not against raw food diets, with enough creativity they can be as awesome as any other diet. Just not too fond of your argument.
I plan on going 70% raw or higher this summer...it is just WAY too cold to eat like that right now...that is why they are in Arizona....I also cannot give up egg whites....protein is a good friend of mine.....any suggestions from raw foodies as per excellent raw sources of protein besides nut milks???
@limbicious I have read that a pound of broccoli has as much protein as a pound of steak. Also, we don't need the amount of protein that most Americans seem to think is necessary and consume.
@limbicious Spirulina, chlorella, blue green algae, hemps seeds, quinoa, flax seeds, maca, bee pollen, goji berries, incan berries, mullberries, nuts ans seeds, legumes. Greens are rich in amino acids, they usually contain all essential amino acids. Powdered greens and grass (alfafa, barley grass, wheatgrass etc..)
Spirulina and hemp are my two favorite. Spiruline is the most concentrated source of protein (50-70%) and hemps has edestin which is the protein that look most to human proteins.
@Anaissiana2 Well, in the video, they were talking about how the one guy with type 1, his blood sugar went up. And they said he ate an apple. I wasn't sure if some fruits that are higher in sugar are off limits. I know they are natural sugars and your body can digest them easier then refined, but wasn't sure if you should wait until you get your sugars under control. Thanks for any help!
for those of you who aurgue that ''raw'' dosent taste as good, mabye you should think about your priorities.food is for fuel and nutrients, not for pleasure.
Noobhter although I do agree with you that food is for fuel any dummy could figure that out but food is also meant to be enjoyed, not to be dreaded every time you eat.
@cyberboy81 you eat to live not live to eat...are you more concerned about pleasing you taste buds or being very healthy...it comes down to that choice
You forget ENZYMES!!! It's the KEY! Huge difference between eating Live Food and Dead Food. Yes, you will have some minerals left in your food - but, not Vitamins and Enzymes!
Woody says, amazing the power of the food. CORRECT, Now let's ALL STOP MONSANTO and the Codex Alimentarius Law before they kill most of us. Look it up, search it, it's the most evil thing against all natural laws and against humanity and the planet's food sources, LOOK IT UP, Codex Alimentarius.
the people that were dropping out seem anxious which is understandable seeing as many obese people are addicted to the pleasure and numbing effect that overeating produces. I haven't watched the doc yet, but would like to, but it seems it would be really helpful if councelling had been provided to help them get through the psychological "withdrawal" period. Excited to watch this doc, thanks for sharing.
I'm vegetarian who eats minimal dairy. I don't think I could go 100% raw but lunchtimes are always salads and I have energy to spare. I think I'd miss a nice hot curry too much. :)
a cure would mean you could eat a lot of junk and your glucose levels wouldn't skyrocket. they are only controlling it with diet. I have diabetes, i have it under control thru diet and exercise, no need for raw food, but if I eat junk, my glucose levels will go thru the roof. Please learn before you type.
Fiona 333, pretty much everything you've written is a complete nonsense. Educate yourself please, preferably from other sources than your industry sponsored TV.
These people, who shove their face with junk food day in and day out don't need a doctor, they need a nutritionist, or a dose of holistic medicine. They also need a good smack in the face for being old enough to know better.
There's a slew of diseases and sicknesses out there that can be cured by one's diet. Don't look to your health care provider, look to yourself for help.
You are right. Cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses have been curable for over 50 years. Simply by what we eat. Why don't people understand what you are is what you eat. If you put cheap octane in a Mercedes (or any luxury car of choice), it will run. But it will not run long and your engine will overheat and be severely damaged. We understand that but not our own bodies?
Wolfe is not 100 % raw vegan - he admits that he eat ants. Besides, none of our societitys in history has ever been raw vegan or oure fruitarians. And also; people are getting healed from diabetis, etc on a raw paleo diet as well,,,check the inuits for example. Bright, white teeth, no caries, etc...they've been eating like that for decades :)
do they really think American physicians "don't make the connection" regarding raw food= health or is it that the American docs LIKE TO BE RICH ON PEOPLE'S TREATMENTS FOR ILLNESS? Scary thought!
Mr. yahssi I do medical billing for doctors and unfortunately your second statements are true they just want to be rich and definitely I know it for sure, they dont give a damn about patients health
i love to work out now and even though i still love my food, i just make sure i know my limitations. i want to go raw though. i love a challenge. i love fruits and veggies.. not fond of meat. so i think i can do it. letting go of cheese will be hard. lol. i love fish. i think i might keep that in. might go 90% raw. i will just do what i can. i am so excited to do this for myself.
man people need to just suck it up and DO IT! i have been there.. i know what it's like to put food before all and be on the edge of 300 pounds! i was 276 pounds at my heaviest. i haven't started raw yet, but would LOVE to try it. i've managed to get down to 185 ON MY OWN and have type 2 diabetes now. thanks to how stupid i used to be. lol. food isn't everything. it's actually a CHORE.
Are there workshop classes available to teach us this new way of eating. I would attend classes to educate myself. I'd have to unlearn all my bad habits. Learning which foods have the necessary proteins, vitamins etc. for a balanced diet would be necessary. Learning food preparation, menus and gardening/purchasing by qualified teachers would be a great idea. This would be a challenging transition but with the right resources and support I'd do it. I'd need structure not just a book.
Great Video, My only comment is, I am American living here in the UK, I would say that the people here...EAT JUST AS MUCH JUNK FOOD AS AMERICANS... and the amount of alcohol that is consumed here...is quit frankly disturbing...I think people here as a whole have just as much fat issues as America does....CANT BLAME AMERICA FOR EVERYTHING..!!! EAT RAW.....
If any of you can't recognize the potential, reality, & value of "live" fresh foods as opposed to dead, processed, refined/contaminated foods littered with garbage ingredients that pollute & infect your entire body & effectively turn your circulatory system into a river of free radicals, poisons, & waste your body can't efficiently remove w/o help from you, just as you helped contaminate it.. Then those individuals are fooling themselves & will never know good health, happiness, and longevity.
Like most things you hear about, I thought this movie may be somewhat full of hype and a little too good to be true. However, instead of naysaying it, I decided to try it for myself. I am VERY happy with my results: I completely CURED my type 2 diabetes and vastly improved my overall health after a few months of eating an 80% living food diet. My astonished doctor asked me what new drugs I was on. I told him: cabbage and kale! :) If anyone is as skeptical as I was, I say just try it!
@involutionary You have not "cured" your diabetes, there is no cure, you have controlled it, if you don't believe it, start eating junk again and see how fast your blood sugar goes up. Please don't mislead people
You can believe it if you want to or not, but all disease is cureable. 100% curable. The bodies natural state is health.
You don't believe in raw foods, but you haven't tried them yourself so you don't have proof. I have cured my heart disease (slow and fast heart, skipped beats, etc...) and asthma.
Why do I believe any disease is cureable? I just feel in my heart it is, combined with seeing solid proof that it's true.
You probably don't know what it's like to have a disease that is a death sentence, and wanting so badly to live. To be on the edge of death, in that crushing darkness and fear.
You may be, though, in the future, who knows? At that point you'll definitely want to try anything, to read everything. You don't have to believe everything you read, but you will at that point have to believe what you feel and see with your eyes.
It humbles a person to go through life and death, startling them awake from such a shallow reality of feeling horrible and believing it's normal, and there is no cure, and there is evil out there that'll "get you" and kill your body.
There is a lot more to life than trying to live the dream by following every law your taught by modern society, living with your diseases and never once having a second thought of "wait, why is it this way?".
Is what I feel and see with my eyes to be solid proof real? That's up to me.
And after feeling the effects of experimenting with eating cooked foods, and then eating raw foods I would have to conclude that raw foods have an effect of vitality on the physical body.
And, they just happen to come straight from the ground of the earth. Mother earth is meant to feed all humans.
Don't you think maybe, just MAYBE this is how it's meant to be?
The problem is that we all have been conditioned to believe that solution to health problems cannot be as simple as diet. It must require drugs, big institutions, and esoteric expertise. To think that the average person can take control of their health by simply changing what they put into their body is too hard for us to believe.
Maybe we will one day wake up and see how the drug, food, and health industry has deceived us.
Do some research into how raw plant based food affect the red blood cells and the cellular structure of Chlorophyll in comparison to human blood.
In other words, get the gym junkie personal trainer mentality out of your head and do the fucking research instead of living on the same beliefs you have had since birth.
Your crystal gripping, tree hugging, sun-baked Aussie brain (just assuming the first 2 based on your profile) is showing just how feeble it is: "the cellular structure of Chlorophyll" doesn't exist, considering that chlorophyll is a macro-molecule and not a cell.
Perhaps when you pull your head out of your ass and go to school like I have (Biology degree, Anthropology degree, starting my PhD soon) we can talk for real.
This isn't even a coherent sentence. Finding the cure for what? What am I supposed to spread?
I'm just trying to insert a bit of rationality into all this raw-food/vegan hype.
I don't think I'm cool. I'm trying to let you know that I've put a great deal of effort in learning the skills one needs to DO science and to think CRITICALLY about the world.
The first comment I made on this stupid video, all I was trying to say is that it doesn't satisfactorily rule out other life-style changes than not eating animal products which can have significant health benefits that they did! If they get better after reducing processed sugars, white bread and starchy foods, fatty foods, and meat, how are you so sure its the meat that was making them sick?
But when people make stupid comments I feel compelled to respond. And I'm responding to YOU!
Just read your profile and your a self absorbed text book twat that reads something once and base it as truth your entire life, and you are 21 which makes you think you know more than anyone else which is going to blind you even further, so you will have to wait until your brain matures at 31.
Eat a dick blade004. I looked at your profile and I can tell you're a total true believer.
I don't think your 31 yr old brain is mature, I think its rotten.
I'm not a gym rat, but I am a proud skeptic. I don't think there's anything wrong w/ veganism, I just don't think its the panacea you lot try to make it out to be.
For the record you started the ad hominem attacks, but I'll finish them. Also for the record, that dick you should eat is made of MEAT!
I think the whole point of the video mate is that the average person (as these people are) consumes excessive amounts of meat, so by cutting out any antagonists that may contribute to poor health for the 30 day period they were able to improve their health to that of a non-diabetic level.
Their Subsequent diet thereafter would most likely incorporate meat but in much lower doses. I myself do not eat red meat due to hemochromatosis but i eat chicken and fish.
Don't worry mowriter, I'm normally a pretty calm guy, but when some moron tries to cuss me out on this site I take the opportunity to blow off a little steam. Normally I'd get my ass kicked, but on youtube
Of course a person subsisting largely or even regularly on the fast food diet will improve their health by switching to this diet. And it is relatively common for people to lose the symptoms of Type II Diabetes due to a positive change in lifestyle.
My original problem with this video is the one still have. There are multiple variables to this change and I don't see how you can make the argument that it was the veganism (no animal products) that helped.
They're also getting rid of white bread, deep fried starches, and high fructose corn syrup in desserts and especially sodas. I believe that these are all "vegan" foods too in that they do not contain animal products. It is these foods which are responsible for Diabetes, not meat. It would be safe to say that eliminating meat will reduce bad cholesterol to safe levels, but a reasonable person can acheive this by eating a small, but historically normal amount of meat.
As I see it there are arguments for veganism. One is bullshit, one is uneccessary, and one is a legitimate criticism.
That animals have their right to life and should not be killed or used for food, even humanely, is bullshit (in my opinion). I agree that cruelty to animals in food production is a big problem, but one which can be dealt with. I think it is uneccessary to eliminate meat for health reasons because a healthy diet may include reasonable portions of animal products.
There is absolutely no reason to eat meat for nutritional purposes, i think THAT is the point that you are missing. Do you know that the combination of sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and almonds actually gives you a complete protein- all 7 amino acids. Which is more than i can say for meat AND it comes without all the toxcity in meat- hormones, antibiotics etc. which you inevitably ingest when you eat dead flesh.
Actually, there are 8 amino acids which our body cannot synthesize. I also think you don't know what toxicity means.
I think you are incorrect in saying that there is "absolutely no reason to eat meat". Animal protein is a very efficient (nutritionally speaking, not environmentally) source of a variety of vitamins and minerals in addition to a complete protein.
Omnivory and its consequences led our species to dominate this planet. I think its pretentious as hell to sneer at it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Some people are allergic to nuts. Eating a lot of nuts makes them ill. Maybe you can get enough protein on a raw diet, but not everyone can. Toxicity is just as much of a problem in raw vegetables. They can have bacteria that can only be killed by cooking. Being a vegetarian is great, eating all raw food not so good.
I love how the man in the middle at 8:10 was kicking so high. ha
But seriously I love this diet, but it is not practical. The price for these foods would be more expensive if it is organic. There will be a shorter shelf life so one would have to buy food more frequently
It is a fine diet, but it has to be approached cautiously. Too much fiber in the early stages can produce stomach cramps. Overall I think the benefits are worth the money and trouble. The bottom line is "you decide" your diet.
When I went vegan a few years back I bought a lot of that propaganda you are still weighed down by, and I was convinced I needed to use all kinds of vitamin supplements and protein shakes, whatever. Now my diet couldn't be simpler, cheaper, or healthier. I have saved so much money not eating meat and dairy products, as well as all the processed commercial food, I spend more on books and arts now. I am not 100 percent raw, but it couldn't be easier or better to go 90%.
we love our convenience, but we're paying for it in chemical exposure to our bodies. More frequent food purchases equates a little closer to our original method of hunting and gathering (barely).
Rhetorical question: what's more expensive? Buying clean? Or the cost of catastrophic illness that results from decades of toxins in the body?
VariedInterest- What type of diet do you eat and at what price do you pay for it. I am not calling you a liar, I would just like to know. Recently my brother talked about buying very inexpensive produce at farmer joe's,manhattan, and stew lenards. The prices there amazed me compared to a&p or fine fare
Mowriter- You got me with the catastrophic illness. Cancer, high blood pressure, the list goes on. Its funny I think about money compared to my health in the future.. Good points overall.
raw food is the best for you hands down.... and yes you get protein on a raw food diet... people are brainwashed nowadays with the whole food pyramid and stuff like that!!!
oh and also to the two squabbling down there; tt247jer" you obviously like your fast food and fried things and just haven't given raw foods a try, if you try to eat something that you think is nasty or bad then it will probably taste like that and "carybe9393", you seem to be indicating that raw foods aren't supposed to be good, and that they are just to put in our mouths, and although your point is right about the nutritional aspect you seem to think food can't be healthy and good
I am sixteen years old and am a vegan and let me tell you that most everything they said is true and you get many benefits from it but what I disagree with is that it has to be raw, true there is more nutrition in a raw carrot versus a boiled/cooked carrot but the cooking "over 118 degrees for over a minute makes food lose MOST of it's nutrition and mineral content" seems to be an exaggerated comment, I cook much of my food and have some raw stuff aka. salads and it still is quite healthy
I actually enjoy a lot of vegetarian and vegan food, but it would be difficult for me to do this raw food thing because I can't stand the taste of raw tomatoes, lol. I've always hated them, for some reason.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
but don't vebetarians kill plants? And yes, eating is about survivial but it's also supposed to be an enjoyable experience. Thats why nature created fruits that taste good to humans and animals, so we want to eat them.
did you know just like you can get brainwashed by TV your taste-buds get brainwashed by junk food. veggies taste bad only because of your withdrawal from junk, once you've been on it for a while, or at least vegetarian diet, your sense of smell, taste.. cravings change completely. just try it for like 7 days, what have you got to lose?
Applauds. It is really difficult for some people to handle such drastic changes to their lifestyles. It makes me feel like we are improving our lifestyles when movies like these come out. Is it straight to DVD or movie theater release? if it comes to theaters, it should have a disclaimer that says "put down the popcorn and Whoppers(TM).
my question is this because ive ate nothing but veggies and soy and my blood sugar still ends up being high because everything has its own natural sugar. Never once did they classify the diabetics being type 1 or 2. If they were type 2 then yes their bodies could reverse diabetes. Ive been a diabetic for 15 years diagnosed as a teenager that exercised played football and basketball and ate right. Im not sure they meant type 1????
First off soy isn't that good for you especially on a constant basis look it up it's a controversial topic! Second if you pay attention to the video the patients are type 2 and type 1...watch it over. There are many toxins in our diet and environment that can contribute to diabetes, but that isn't the whole story stress is also harmful to us and can raise blood sugar, try to treat yourself through your diet, your environment, and your emotions/stress level. Good luck
It's not that doctors don't see the link between good food and health. The problem is it's overshadowed by the link between keeping people sick and keeping the money rolling in!

From the high quality absorbable amino acid profile to the very absorbable iron it contains, meat is a great food.
tickyul 1 year ago
@tickyul wrong, meat is a terrible food, too much protein, and high in fat, not too mention the hormones, and antibiotics usually found in beef.
Stonewalljackson7 1 year ago
@Stonewalljackson7 Uh, my opinion is wrong? So, you mean that I do not feel good when I eat a diet high in meat, as I have stated? Or do you mean to suggest that meat is not a good food? If you have read anything about nutrition you would know that the biological availabilty of nutrients in animal products is so much greater than blechy plant foods. Also, the actual level of various nutrients is mch higher in meat/eggs.
tickyul 1 year ago
@tickyul Maybe meat does make you feel good, but it is probably just in your mind. Liquor makes you feel good too, but that doesn't mean its good for you. I've read tons about nutrition. Which nutrients are you talking about? the saturated fat, sodium or cholesterol. Nutrient availability isnt higher in meat, and even if it was it would'nt make any difference cause you can get more than enough from plants.
Stonewalljackson7 1 year ago 2
@Stonewalljackson7 Uh, that is kinda a crummy comparison, equating the effects of food to alcohol. sodium is not high in meat or eggs as long as your do not add any. Lots of meat is actually higher in other fats besides saturated, saturated in my book is not bad when eating a low carb diet. Do I have to go over the vast superiority of meat in supplying the body with b vitamins, iron, taurine, d vit, a vit, efa's.....should I go on?
tickyul 1 year ago
@tickyul vitamin d needs are easily met with 15 minutes exposure to the sun daily. Almost all vitamins requirements can be easily met with a plant based diet. Meat is too high in protein, particularly methionine. Protein restriction, especially Methionine restriction is believe to be as effective in prolonging life as calorie restriction. very small amounts of meat wouldn't be harmful, but there is NO need for it.
Stonewalljackson7 1 year ago
@Stonewalljackson7 Yes, but the sun cannot always be relied upon for Vit d. And I am not a advocate
of tons of protein, a bias towards a higher fat diet is optimal in my opinion. Man and animals have selected the fatty parts of animals as the best thing to feed on, muscle is not prime eating. I think a good guideline is your lean bodyweight (total weight minus fat) in grams is a good goal for protein consumption.

tickyul 1 year ago
@tickyul Meat is far from being the best source of b vitamins. Same thing with iron, it depend which type of meat. Iron from meat is also damaging to the digestive tract. Taurine is usually not essential, if you fing you are lacking taurine I would rather recommend taking supplements instead of meat. The only animal product thaht is a source of vit D and EFA is fish. EFA are far more concentrated in plant (flax, hemp, etc..) sacha inchi oil is 90% EFA. Vit D is found mushroom and fortified food.
XNinjaSebX 1 year ago 2
@tickyul It's more reliable and safer to get your vitamin D from the sun (or tanning salon) and or supplements. The sun should be your first choice. Vitamin A is higlhly toxic if too much is taken, that's why I recommend getting it from beta-carotene, when your body made enought you'll stop converting it. Beta-carotene is not toxic.
XNinjaSebX 1 year ago 4
@XNinjaSebX If you are eating regular amounts of organ meats you are not going to get sick, maybe if you go crazy with the supplements yeah, regular food......highly unlikely.

@kylextown24 Care to expand on your top of the line reply? Do you mean that I will be sickly like those high carb eatin type 2 diabetics? All of my health markers are excellent. I ate 3 meals today, 3 large meals and was never really dissatisfied with any of them, no real hunger. Eggs, meat, pork rinds....yummo.
tickyul 1 year ago
XNinjaSebX 1 year ago 4
@XNinjaSebX Uh, where did you hear me coming out AGAINST plant food. Most Atkins type diets include plants as the main form of what little carbs there are in these diets. And, I hate to tell you, there is no need to eat carbohydrates in your diet....it is nice to do, but not neccessary. Protein can easily be converted to Glucose for whatever carbs are needed in the body. Also, the more Keto adapted you are, the less you rely on carbs.
tickyul 11 months ago
@tickyul ''There is no need to eat cabohydrates'' This is just wrong. Maybe glucose is not essential ( it can be made by breaking down fats and protein which take much more time, energy, enzymes. nutrients and leave you with alot of toxins) you probably haven't heard of essential sugars haven't you? Why take the risk of going into ketosis when you can get what you need in it's purest form... that's just ridiculous. Atkins and other carb phobic diet are not suitable for highly active people.
XNinjaSebX 11 months ago 3
@XNinjaSebX What risks are there from going into Ketosis, it is a perfectly natural state. The danger is KETOACIDOSIS, a highly unlikely state except..... for type 1 and sometimes type 2 diabetics. And if you are participating in very endurance intensive exercise, fat is a great fuel. If you need the explosiveness of carbs, eat some fruit or veggies in youir diet, that is hardly a problem, 20 grams carbs is THE ATKINS STARTING POINT FOR CARB INTAKE. Essential Sugars.......hahaha.

@limbicious I have read that a pound of broccoli has as much protein as a pound of steak. Also, we don't need the amount of protein that most Americans seem to think is necessary and consume.

wackpdot1 1 year ago
@limbicious Spirulina, chlorella, blue green algae, hemps seeds, quinoa, flax seeds, maca, bee pollen, goji berries, incan berries, mullberries, nuts ans seeds, legumes. Greens are rich in amino acids, they usually contain all essential amino acids. Powdered greens and grass (alfafa, barley grass, wheatgrass etc..)
Spirulina and hemp are my two favorite. Spiruline is the most concentrated source of protein (50-70%) and hemps has edestin which is the protein that look most to human proteins.

You are right. Cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses have been curable for over 50 years. Simply by what we eat. Why don't people understand what you are is what you eat.

Diabetes is caused by Parasites, almost every disease is. No medical practitioners are taught this, but it is the truth.
The natural state of the body is 100% health. It's how it's meant to be. We are meant to live satisfying healthy lives. Disease is unnatural.
The body itself gives us so much every second. It works for us every moment of our lives.
MarkHansAvon 2 years ago
Mark, quit smoking crack, its starting to affect your mind.
Stonewalljackson7 2 years ago
You can believe it if you want to or not, but all disease is cureable. 100% curable. The bodies natural state is health.
You don't believe in raw foods, but you haven't tried them yourself so you don't have proof. I have cured my heart disease (slow and fast heart, skipped beats, etc...) and asthma.
Why do I believe any disease is cureable? I just feel in my heart it is, combined with seeing solid proof that it's true.
MarkHansAvon 2 years ago 5
You probably don't know what it's like to have a disease that is a death sentence, and wanting so badly to live. To be on the edge of death, in that crushing darkness and fear.
You may be, though, in the future, who knows? At that point you'll definitely want to try anything, to read everything. You don't have to believe everything you read, but you will at that point have to believe what you feel and see with your eyes.
MarkHansAvon 2 years ago
yes I know what is is to be given a death sentence, fortunately the doctor was wrong.
Stonewalljackson7 2 years ago
It humbles a person to go through life and death, startling them awake from such a shallow reality of feeling horrible and believing it's normal, and there is no cure, and there is evil out there that'll "get you" and kill your body.
There is a lot more to life than trying to live the dream by following every law your taught by modern society, living with your diseases and never once having a second thought of "wait, why is it this way?".
MarkHansAvon 2 years ago 2
So, maybe I am smoking crack. x_x'
MarkHansAvon 2 years ago
I attempt to eat raw foods when possible, in reality most foods have to be eaten cooked. Cooking reduces some nutrients but not a lot.

I myself do not eat red meat due to hemochromatosis but i eat chicken and fish.

mct0818 2 years ago
In response to your questions:
Of course a person subsisting largely or even regularly on the fast food diet will improve their health by switching to this diet. And it is relatively common for people to lose the symptoms of Type II Diabetes due to a positive change in lifestyle.
My original problem with this video is the one still have. There are multiple variables to this change and I don't see how you can make the argument that it was the veganism (no animal products) that helped.
mct0818 2 years ago
They're also getting rid of white bread, deep fried starches, and high fructose corn syrup in desserts and especially sodas. I believe that these are all "vegan" foods too in that they do not contain animal products. It is these foods which are responsible for Diabetes, not meat. It would be safe to say that eliminating meat will reduce bad cholesterol to safe levels, but a reasonable person can acheive this by eating a small, but historically normal amount of meat.
mct0818 2 years ago

NatalyaIC 2 years ago
Actually, there are 8 amino acids which our body cannot synthesize. I also think you don't know what toxicity means.
I think you are incorrect in saying that there is "absolutely no reason to eat meat". Animal protein is a very efficient (nutritionally speaking, not environmentally) source of a variety of vitamins and minerals in addition to a complete protein.
Omnivory and its consequences led our species to dominate this planet. I think its pretentious as hell to sneer at it.

Have you tried a mostly raw diet fion333 ?????

I love how the man in the middle at 8:10 was kicking so high. ha
But seriously I love this diet, but it is not practical. The price for these foods would be more expensive if it is organic. There will be a shorter shelf life so one would have to buy food more frequently
It is a fine diet, but it has to be approached cautiously. Too much fiber in the early stages can produce stomach cramps. Overall I think the benefits are worth the money and trouble. The bottom line is "you decide" your diet.

Man, that is a big load!

Xep: Couple of points and a rhetorical question.
we love our convenience, but we're paying for it in chemical exposure to our bodies. More frequent food purchases equates a little closer to our original method of hunting and gathering (barely).
Rhetorical question: what's more expensive? Buying clean? Or the cost of catastrophic illness that results from decades of toxins in the body?
mowriter 2 years ago 2
VariedInterest- What type of diet do you eat and at what price do you pay for it. I am not calling you a liar, I would just like to know. Recently my brother talked about buying very inexpensive produce at farmer joe's,manhattan, and stew lenards. The prices there amazed me compared to a&p or fine fare
Mowriter- You got me with the catastrophic illness. Cancer, high blood pressure, the list goes on. Its funny I think about money compared to my health in the future.. Good points overall.

oh and also to the two squabbling down there; tt247jer" you obviously like your fast food and fried things and just haven't given raw foods a try, if you try to eat something that you think is nasty or bad then it will probably taste like that and "carybe9393", you seem to be indicating that raw foods aren't supposed to be good, and that they are just to put in our mouths, and although your point is right about the nutritional aspect you seem to think food can't be healthy and good
Megaman54321 3 years ago
I am sixteen years old and am a vegan and let me tell you that most everything they said is true and you get many benefits from it but what I disagree with is that it has to be raw, true there is more nutrition in a raw carrot versus a boiled/cooked carrot but the cooking "over 118 degrees for over a minute makes food lose MOST of it's nutrition and mineral content" seems to be an exaggerated comment, I cook much of my food and have some raw stuff aka. salads and it still is quite healthy
Megaman54321 3 years ago
I actually enjoy a lot of vegetarian and vegan food, but it would be difficult for me to do this raw food thing because I can't stand the taste of raw tomatoes, lol. I've always hated them, for some reason.

Well go get fat and unhealthy then couse it's your choice.

Sry, but food isn't supposed to be about enjoying the act of eating
It's to replace the nutrients and vitamins that our body needs to "work"
And it's because of it that a lot of people becomes vegetarian...
Because WE SHOULDN'T KILL SOMETHING CUZ IT TASTES GOOD...

but don't vebetarians kill plants? And yes, eating is about survivial but it's also supposed to be an enjoyable experience. Thats why nature created fruits that taste good to humans and animals, so we want to eat them.

did you know just like you can get brainwashed by TV your taste-buds get brainwashed by junk food. veggies taste bad only because of your withdrawal from junk, once you've been on it for a while, or at least vegetarian diet, your sense of smell, taste.. cravings change completely. just try it for like 7 days, what have you got to lose?

So when is this movie coming out I have been waiting for a while now.
soc5 3 years ago

BennieGiant 3 years ago 3
First off soy isn't that good for you especially on a constant basis look it up it's a controversial topic! Second if you pay attention to the video the patients are type 2 and type 1...watch it over. There are many toxins in our diet and environment that can contribute to diabetes, but that isn't the whole story stress is also harmful to us and can raise blood sugar, try to treat yourself through your diet, your environment, and your emotions/stress level. Good luck

It's not that doctors don't see the link between good food and health. The problem is it's overshadowed by the link between keeping people sick and keeping the money rolling in!
