Thanks for putting this up Im getting the software because I really want to put some of my hand drawn things up but I'm really freaked out on the whole Photoshop thing ._. but thanks for putting it up
THANK YOU! This is the FIRST and ONLY tutorial I've found that actually really explains every step you're doing. You are going a little fast but it's do-able. I've finally learnt to color on the computer after months because I couldn't find a good tutorial. THANKS SO MUCH! It's not even as hard as I thought it would be. One question though: do you have to make a new layer for everything you're coloring? (shirt, skin, hair....) or can you do it with just one layer as well?
@xSpyroForce Thanks so much. <3 It really is easy after you practice for a bit. I use different layers for everything so the colors don't overlap. You can use 1 layer, but it would be alot more difficult. Hope that helps! <3
@o0DeathnoteluveR0o On the menu bar at the top go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Gradient. Make sure you set the mode to multiply so it doesn't overlap your original color. Use the "Angle" option to choose where your gradient is coming from. Does that help?
Cute, I use a similar program called manga studio, i never thought of using a blur-like tool to soften my shading, making it blend better, great video! and i like how you shade hair, your dodging is simple but it works so well, simple is definitely the way to go, i always tend to go overboard with burning and dodging lol
People, you need you experiment with all the tools in your photoshop. Most of us manga-color experts learned our own unique style that way: EXPERIENMENT!

Well, I thought this was very helpful, Because all I needed to know was what tools to use and some helpful tips ^^ thanks very much, I appreciate it :D
You're still not "Teaching" anything, Here I cannot watch how a tool is used, or even how it works, I cannot learn functions, or even correlate what changes were made by what. If you're going to "label" it a tutorial, than record it, and break it into how many separate videos it takes. Otherwise it isn't a tutorial, its a damn waste of my time.
I hate these stupid videos. How is this a tutorial when its running this fast? You're not helping or teaching anyone.. just having us watch you color. Gosh, annoying people.
@Katnipkity READ the instructions, if I were to slow it down, this video would of been 45 minutes to an hour long. If you don't want to do that, then go out and buy yourself "Photoshop for Dummies".
I find it hard moving the lasso tool using my mouse do you have any techniques or ideas
maimelo12 3 days ago
@maimelo12 I don't use a mouse. I use a tablet. An Adesso Widescreen Media Graphics Tablet to be exact. Its really smooth and doesn't glitch at all.

Excuse me, how do people DRAW their sketches so good in photoshop, i mean they use a graphic tablet? is it that any good?
TheXeeded 1 month ago
@TheXeeded Yeah, people use graphic tablets. Its almost equivalent to drawing on paper
turtlemancreator1012 3 weeks ago
@TheXeeded I draw them in my sketchbook, then scan them. Then I upload the picture to photoshop, and pretty much trace it with black.
