I keep hearing this association of hell with gehenna, but I can't help thinking that it's over-weighting the case; the NT marks the move from writing in Hebrew into Greek, and the Greek concept of Tartarus is exactly how Christians envisage hell. I'm inclined to think that Jesus' mention of Gehenna is just a parable, likening Hell to being thrown out on the trash.

By the looks of things, with accordance to the video, religions use fear tactics to keep their congregation on a leash as per se, while manifesting false statement towards those that either oppose or refuse to obide to their faith or doctrines. This is great stuff. Very interesting. Whenever I see fascinating documentries like this which shed light on the historical and cultural origins of common ideas or motifs(?) which we seem to think we already understand, one of the first things that usually occurs to me is - "if only they'd taught this kind of stuff at school I would have understood so much more about the world!" Good to learn about it now though. Thanks for putting it up.

All though it's nice to hear hard rock as a documentary soundtrack, I find it a little unsuitable for this one. Mostly because it's pretty crappy rock, secondly because I think a character as eccentric as the devil deserves better.

And of course it gives some silly people a reason to cry about the demonic music that is rock/metal LoL.

All though the above mentioned association is probably why such music was applied.
