Adaritha sang this before Anita Baker. I like her version better...its soprano and sung with more passion especially the ending. Of course, Anita made it a hit but she was more known....This single and the album its on did not get the airplay....sad.....
@dmr55able Correction...This version received much air play in Washington, DC thanks to Melvin Lindsey, of 96.3 WHUR "The Original Quiet Storm". For those of us who are die hard fans of the "Quiet Storm", Miss Adaritha is one of our favorites. It may not have received air play on a national level, but in Washington, DC Adaritha Dyer is royalty!
848 views, this is a great Norman Connors songs, I don't know where he found the women to sing these songs from 1974 to 1980, they produced some of the sweetest love songs. Great times, good music. Hot afternoon delights, HMMM.
Now I know I wasn't trippin!; when Anita Baker's version came out, I couldn't figure why I knew most of the words, different arrangement. HOW I LOVE THIS ONE! MS. Adaritha, You Bring ME Joy!!!
@wlsn11359 That's my girl! I've worked with her for over 10 years and counting, spent thousands of miles on the road with her... :) I've worked with Norman Connors too, we even were roommates in Harlem for a while when he moved back east from Hollywood around 2003..... :)
@wlsn11359 Thanks, you're too kind! Norman called me about 1 month ago, he's writing a book that he's shopping around.... his memoirs! :) He sure has got some good stories....
@kasponya I'm sure he has some great stories. Afterall, he is the "Maestro", and the Captain of the "Starship"! Please keep me posted when he gets a publisher. He has a following with all of us "Quiet Storm" fans.
