he dies in order to give the people who are fighting voldemort the same protection his mother gave him when voldemort tried to kill him. because he died to save them out of love everyone fighting at that time were protected from voldemort. thats why he died.

It's funny how strict security is, because I'm reading the story right now. I'm not sure how they got it. Perhaps they hacked into an editor's email, or the editor spilled it to someone. Who knows? The same happened with Star Wars episode III. Someone released the entire script before the movie was released.
