  • wow! I've watched so many technically brilliant, but cold performances here on youtube, but this one was really telling something! I could hear you can feel the music so who cares about mistakes. It's like language - it's not so much the grammar, but the meaning that counts!

  • oops yes he did indeed. haha..

  • you need a bit more practice .

Du sollst noch ein bisschen üben.

    Kicsit még gyakorolj wazze.

  • hey @dt10825 it doesnt take good ears to recognize the mistake u made at 2:34

  • Well done! :)

  • Fantastic work Danny

  • good but you went too fast, and you lost control

  • this is too blody hard to play im gonah give up totalii if i dont have any insperation why i shouldnt! he done pretty good may have missed a few but its better than i can do! kudos to him <3 his pretty fit too ^_^ <3

  • Hot guy.

  • he tried...

  • 2:33 mistake

  • As another lover of this beautiful piece i would just like to say BRAVO!!! it was played very stylistically and with passion and intensity.... loved it! congratulation all the hard work was defiantly worth it!

  • so many misses......................

    but good

  • whatup bro its Vasu from NYC. keep up the great work wow 92,322 views!!!!

  • at the bottom of page 2, where it says "meno quasi lento"

what do those rectangular hollow notes above the solid normal notes mean? what am I supposed to do.... are those artificial harmonics or something using the bottom note as a base?

    thanks in advance

  • yeah, you have to create your own harmonic. Press down as hard as possible with the bottom finger and very lightly with top, move your bow quickly to.

    It's bloody difficult!!

  • artificial harmonics. not sure what your page 2 is but i'm pretty sure that's what you're looking at. you put your first finger firmly down and fourth as you would a harmonic on the box note.

  • Well he has to practise a lot, you musnt make even a little mistake by csardas because then it sounds unprofessional and bad like that.

A bit more practise and im sure it will be fine ;)

  • I try to play this piece at the harmonics part and i always fail. I need to know the perfect way to do it.

  • Enjoyed--one of the cleaner versions I have heard.

  • Ooopps! Somebody forgot the repeat at 2:34!! (and it wasn't the pianist)

  • haha youre right! good ears!

  • The piano is pretty loud but the duo is excellent!

  • Pięknie gra,jak zwykle popłaczę sobie...buu....dzięki:)

  • bah, he doesnt really project and his vibrato's more of a trill than anything

  • que?

  • The piano was too fast at 2.33

  • very nice, harmonic is perfect

  • i'm learning this piece at the moment as well

the false harmonic section was really good did you use a third finger for some of them?

  • :S Is there something wrong with the sound quality?

  • Good, but you can really pull it about more in smaller sections at the slow parts - that is, do a rit over two or three notes to emphasise them. Also vid is not synched with sound? Or is that just me?

  • Sound takes longer to travel to the microphone, especially if they're in a large stage. So thats why it looks like its not synched.

  • Can't hear it so well!

  • well? I can't hear a thing! (my speakers aren't loud though);)

  • terrific! i played an arrangement which had the beginning of this song, i lub it!!

  • great harmonics

  • I think you should play this without a pianist, because sometimes, she's faster than you and it sound a little weird!

    But good Job!!

  • um, no she's not

  • very good performance! im learning this piece now and im very bad but i suppose it will take time

just one question, is that intro the actual intro?? ive heard so many i dont know which one is the true on!

  • agreed.

  • i know he does a fantastic job musically (so does the pianist) but can i just say this guy is freaking HOT

  • i knooow!haha

  • looks like im playing too fast for the video to keep up..

    just playin.

  • i think you should slow your vibrato on this piece just a bit

    but you don't have to.

  • thanks for the suggestion :]

  • piękne

  • beautiful harmonics..!! =) best one i've heard so far..

  • Oh man, this song is hard as hell! We have to play it in my orchestra... you played very nicely though, I like the harmonics at 3:16. Also, who is the beautiful pianist? ^.^

  • take a wild guess

  • nice!!!!

  • well ur better than me at violin so i have nothing to criticize u about unlike all the other ppl....-_- good job

  • u rock

  • i cn pla this and i am sik at it lol

  • haha. shiiiiiiit..some of these ppl are pretty sick. come back to the states dan!!

  • wow this is better than ur praeludium danny but u should post ur introduction and tarantella up or the rondo

  • The gypsy bands are the BEST!

  • beautiful playing by both

very nice, very clear, very corny (as it should be)

  • nah i can playtis song at nw at my age~14+ nt difficult at all~~

  • why dont you put it up?

  • r u serious! you don't find this difficult!

  • just cuz u can play the notes doesn't mean u can play it as well as he does. i've seen 14 year olds play this piece. doesn't matter because they suck at it.

  • very

  • ASIANS!!! TOO DAMN GOOD!

  • it's more fun to see that 9 years old girl play it:] but this one is cool too:)

  • those harmonics are bluddy hard but he plays them awesomly

  • you play awesome! But the piano was too loud D:

  • OistrakhMilstein, ure a total idiot if you think you can tell a musician how he/she must play. if u think u have any right to say that to any musician like danny here, u dont have the right to call yourself a musician. awesome playing by the way.

  • love it. now i'm gonna scout for the sheet.

  • I would give U 6 stars, if I could...

  • I agree with BornofGod, hit it right on the nose there. I ve been playing the violin for about 10 years now and I'm just beginning to understand how to communicate the style of the songs through my playing.

Btw Danny plays this nicely. I remember my older brother playing this a couple years ago. It was a fun reminder.

  • BORNOFGOD, spot on

  • Wow, some people have no concept of 1:difficulty, 2:expression. To those out there bragging about how good you are...post a video on youtube for those of us who think you are arrogant curs, and to prove you are as good as you say you are. I for one think you are making it all up.

Good job Danny Takagi, very well done in gypsy style. 2 Thumbs up.

  • well maybe i progress faster than some people do. i dun know, i'd just like to tell you to please not say things that aren't true.

  • amazing technique, lacks feeling from the third movement.go on!

  • I agree, and that is a common factor to all asian players... I think they do not understand western music in its integrity... Well they think the opposite too.. That occidentals, when they try to play their music, never do as well as they do... Natural reciprocity???

  • ...

    i totally disagree

  • Wtf is up with the racism? Danny did a great job with this piece, and even if you think he didn't, don't make the reason, " because he's asian".. >>;

  • piano accompaniment way too loud; other than that, enjoyable

  • HAHaha u guys crack me up

  • which conversation, the one with me and the tyjoe guy or the maxim and rodri whatever person?

  • here's newsfor you, i'm ten and i played this piece two years ago

  • o ya well my freind who is 12 he is playing for USC already.

  • what's usc?

  • My freind he is only 12 years and can play this song better than Danny.

  • most asshols out there dont even know how to play violin.. well..i play too

    hah

  • why rush?!

  • its called accelerando.

  • on flute

  • a very pure sound, its not easy to do that

  • I don't get it. How do guys play with ties on? The hood of sweatshirt bothers me when I play. How can you stand a tie?

Very nice. I thought I caught a wrong note now and again, but maybe not.

  • That again, Roby Lakatos' version is also very good.

  • Dang. This is why I hate violin players. They're too talented.

  • This is a good version, but I think Dmitri Eremeev's version is one of the best version's on youtube.

  • mistake spotted at 2:33

  • Hey you! FUCK OFF already.

  • At least be a little grateful about that. He's trying to help.

  • you think i dont know when I make a mistake in my own playing? you think he's trying to be HELPFUL? no gratitude here.

  • i have the same feeling. it's much more difficult to play on stage than to comment. i wanna make friends with u. r u a music major?how can i keep in touch with u

  • alright, imagine for one second, that youre a musician playing a concert and afterwards some asshole (who happens to not have any videos of his own worthless musicianship, if it even exists) comes up to you not to say "great job", but "you messed up here." how would you feel? for any more retards out there who think telling a musician "oh you screwed up here" is regarded as a HELPFUL comment, go jump off a cliff.

  • Obviously, you don't know how to handle mistakes.

  • Well said :)

I have to play this next week and I am crapping my pants that I will mess up (which will probably cause me to!)! It isn't helpful hearing people bitching about mistakes - it is why I get so worried about messing up in the first place!

  • I was replying to danny btw (not artofmath - who doesn't seem to know what he is talking about)

  • thanks em. "artofmath" is a 14 year old who obviously needs to go to middle school and stay there. kids these days...

  • Your childish behavior towards your own mistakes imply a Kindergarten child. ;-P

  • excuse me?

  • agreed, HAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • Pretty good, but watch those b flats in the beginning. Still, your artificial harmonics are so much better than mine. I have my own vid of this song (but its NOT me playing) so you could check it out.

  • hey !

    Springbogen?

  • WOW!! You are amazing! My most favorite intrepretation of Czardas on YouTube! Vitrually perfect! And wow, beautiful harmonics. I only WISH I could play this piece with no flaws. Was it just me or is she too loud on the piano?

  • good work, Danny... but I think with huge amounts of certainty that I can play better than the girl on the piano... no offense, but... =(

  • thats great, but i dont think anyone cares. i dont.

  • hey i thought this was really good...the video was quiet thou...cudnt hear well dammit...im learning this piece (not on the violin)and am finding the slow sections harder than the faster sections....heh

  • hah wow, how long have you been playing violin? are you a music major? i like your suit

  • Your harmonics kick ass :P

  • thanks =]

  • to all u assholes out there...mind you that the violin is one of the hardest instrument to play.. i tried playing this piece for like 4 yrs now and my dad played this when he was about 10 yrs old. i still dnt get the piece after attempting to learn it for 4 yrs. it's hard especially if u don't have a teacher, this guy probably did and i congratulate you on a job well done.

  • Hi danny, I enjoyed your "interpretation" of Czardas a lot. keep uploading new songs!

have you played Vivaldi 4 season? (any season) I'd like to hear you play them (solo).

    cheers

  • Music is not math (sadly, because if it were, life would be a lot easier for musicians). It is a much more abstract discipline which allows room for interpretation.

  • thanks, i couldnt agree more.

  • how high is your hairline?

  • You are a pathetic piece of shit.

I saw you post your own playing a while ago, but were too

    chickenshit to allow ratings.

    Fuck off and die.

  • i always allow ratings. perhaps youre talking about chickenshit oistrakhmilstein, who doesnt know what music is all about. sadly, he disgraces those two great names.

  • yes, I was referring to that loser oistrakhmilstein, not you.

  • Somebody is jelous.

  • what does that have to do with music?

  • have you thought about playing it with a bass player like venegerov?

  • haha i'd love to.. looks so fun

  • music come from emotion. i think the way he plays this piece is what he feels is right and thats all that matters. sure u can play off the page and hit every not perfect, but that does not mean much. emotion is what brings a piece to life, not playing it exactly the way its written.

  • i 2nd that.

  • i like Praeludium and Allegro more. well, czardas is way easier than Kreisler's piece anyway.

  • lol wut a gangsta player

  • I think that guy challenging you is completely rude. The piece is played to the musician's interpretation of the music, therefore only the musician him/her self can decide whether the piece is being played 'correctly' or not.

  • exactly. thank youuu!

  • well dt10825, if you're not doing the sautille thats PRINTED on the page, you aren't really playing the piece correctly...

  • you can make SUGGESTIONS but you will never tell me what i should or should not be doing. any further comments regarding this will not be considered.

  • make sure you play sautille not legato on those notes!

  • what are you talkin about

  • sautille means bouncing the bow... You are supposed to play those fast sixteenth notes bounched, not legato!

  • i know what sautille means, im just sayin im not 'supposed' to do anything. i do what i please.

by the way, i AM playing it sautille.

  • no you're not... You're not bouncing the bow, you're keeping on the string, I can listen...

  • wow! this is rather special i reckon. its like my video, but... amazing. an i like how you kinda mess up a tiny bit around 2:30, gives me hope for my own playing :D nice one anyway.

  • My teacher gave me this piece to practice literally this morning. I love it already. Thank for this video for inspiration!

  • yooooooooo thanks, fun piece.

  • nice, i do miss playing violin now too, but its ok cause i still got my euphonium, prolly why i like the christian lindberg more just because its on trombone XD. But still an amazing job, kudos to you.

  • I thought it was great! But the video would have been better if the sound was louder. O_O Or maybe it's just me. I had my speakers turned up and I still had to strain my ear. :(

    Nonetheless, I like it. :D

  • thanks! yeah the video guy did some bad audio editing.. not like i needed any haha! i got some more videos comming

  • I love the fact that you don't have to use a shoulder rest, it looks more natural like those old masters. Although I have to admit I cannot play without one:P

  • really? why not? back when I still played my violin, I didn't use any shoulder rests. heh. *sigh* I really miss my violin. It's been 7 year. :(

  • Oops. I meant years.
