Trent Reznor duing a concert would be to compliment the crowd for being a great audience or to quickly introduce the names of the performers on stage. All the rest of the entire NIN show would be nonstop music. NIN could go 3 hours+ on stage without even taking one break. Even if someone threw something at the band on stage, they'd just make a quick reaction and then keep performing whatever song they were playing!!! Often times they break their own instruments, anyway, so who cares?!!

Trent Reznor duing a concert would be to compliment the crowd for being a great audience or to quickly introduce the names of the performers on stage. All the rest of the entire NIN show would be nonstop music. NIN could go 3 hours+ on stage without even taking one break. Even if someone threw something at the band on stage, they'd just make a quick reaction and then keep performing whatever song they were playing!!! Often times they break their own instruments, anyway, so who cares?!!

I'm not really a Metallica fan (never really was), but I know how accessible their music can be which may have drawn in some fans. Just from a "neutral" point of view: a cardinal sin in performing in concert is when there's too much "commentary" in between songs. Fans want to hear music, not needless commentary or jokes.
