  • This is how the Waterfront is going to look in 30 years.

  • just been to jersey and we had a look at pontins. It looks to be in even worse state now with all the wire fences, all the chalets are either boarded up or smashed windows and mindless graffiti everywhere

  • I worked at pontins Jersey 81 and 82 Best 2 summers ive ever had. Chalet parties. cider, Staff were amazing God i wish i could go back in time. If anyone worked with me then drop me an e-mail, im not on facebook { too old} Charlie Mcpake. Cha_mcpake@hotmail.co.uk

  • excellent film , how did you get so much access -

as a child who grew up in 70's 80's pontins and butlins for a week in school summer hols were the highlight of my year, ive seen similar film from the morcambe park.... a bit creepy and sad

  • A few years ago you could just walk in, unfortunately now its all boarded up with security I believe. It was a great derelict place, actually very peaceful and disturbing at the same time.

  • Great film and soundtrack to boot: Thanx:

  • Was there yesterday, loads of blankets put together now, plus there's a load of leather belts n nasty shit. oh n there is definitely smack heads & homeless there.

  • ill educated? i'm from jcg my dear...

  • :'( if this ever happened to Butlins Bognor... i would go there, sit down, and cry.

  • this is a cool vid man i used to go and see the place wen it was abandoned when iused to live in jersey pretty cool place

  • amazing video... i work for pontins in Camber... i couldnt imagine that site going the same way as the one in your video... Thanks for the insight...

  • I went there about 1990 with my mum and it was a brilliant place, the food was gorgeous, jersey royal spuds everyday with meals and gorgeous channel island milk which I have had a weakness for ever since. So sad to see holiday centres left to rot like that.

  • I always find it very sad to see buildings that have fallen into disrepair, and see it as a reminder of the fact that everything dies.

  • Thanks for keeping the dream alive

  • Beautifully made film. The abandoned grand piano struck me the most as many, many years ago I was a Pontins resident pianist on the Northern Circuit.

  • Thank you, I have been meaning to revisit the site, but have yet to get round to it. It is all boarded up now, but it was one of the most surreal yet relaxing places I have been to. But then I guess I'm a little odd!

  • This is Brilliant - expertly done with (and I usually hate rap) a superbly appropriate soundtrack - Love it!

  • PASSED IT JUST THIS SUNDAY ON WAY FOR BREKKY AT THE CAFE THERE, SO SAD TO SEE IT IN THIS STATE. IT COULD BE FAB IF RESTORED

  • Great video.I worked for Pontins as a musician in many of the camps around Britain and lived in Jersey for a few years where I met my wife. She worked there before we met.

  • This clip is so sad.

I have worked as a Manager for Pontins for 2.5 yrs and we have closed 2 more parks in that time. Its so sad. All of this is because of the person that owns the Land these sites sit on! Not actually Pontins. ;0(

  • myself and my now wife both worked there the final season before it closed as bluecoats and it holds many happy memories for us including where i proposed to her it brought her to tears as we watched it, how come they didnt knock it down as we thought was happening.what a shame , and a waste off beauty.

  • please keep this video on youtube; it is great for sentimental purposes, for all those who have memories of this place. thank you v. much

  • I was taken to this camp by my parents in 1960. I well remember the hike up and down the steps to get to Plemont Bay (arguably the best beach on Jersey). Nice to come across this video, for sentimental reasons, but sad to see the camp in such a state.....

  • How sad and Blackpool will go the same way :(

  • thanks for posting once again, kinda missed this vid. think it is inevitable it will be pulled down quite soon, cannot believe the security guards are not stopping the vandals. they should have done something with this place, if i had the cash i would certainly buy it for emotional reasons.

  • Is this place easy to get into cause I really want to take some photo's in here I love Pontins I go to the one in Brean :) xxx

  • I can't believe how awful it looks now. I went there in 1985 aged 9 and had a great time. In 2005 I met my husband only to discover he was at pontins the same time as me. We even have a photo of us and the other kids (good old crocodile club!!!) upstairs in the games room.... remember those 2 big snooker tables? It holds many memories and you don't expect to marry someone you met there by chance 20 years ago!

    Great footage, thank-you x

  • i love pontins, it's like Jerseys version of Chernobyl

  • That's so true - awesome.

  • when did it shut down?

  • I think about ten years ago now.

  • Glad i followed the link from ....

Love the video but alas a shame that another place left to rot.

I am glad through the group I can see what has become of the Family camps that have been closed and abandoned. Keep up the reports

  • Excellent video!!!

  • Superb video, stayed there 30 years ago.

    Shame about the place.

  • excellent video, cheers

  • Fantastic video! Haunting & very moving of a place that has so many happy memories to people who holidayed there! I visted it back in 2008, and it was very spooky! I all ways felt as if some one was looking over my shoulder? Took many photo's of the place, and it still haunts me when I look at them!

Thanks for getting this back up again!

  • Great video..Love the comparison shots..Well done matey!
