  • i love this song

  • Kirk is truly a inspiration

  • The power of God supports this testimony..Kirk is such a blessing..He hasnt hidden his failures even as Christian. Kirk has been quite transparent..Thus he is showing us how Christ Jesus is not a fare weather friend, He is always with us when we walk faithfully as a Christian and when we stumble (as a Christian)..Sorry to have to say this, but some Christians turn their noses up at you when you screw up, but not Jesus, He picks us up and dusts us down (this is being real)..God bless Kirk x

  • This song isn't just for men; some of us sisters need to let it go. GOD has been dealing with me about letting it go, as well. If you are a sister or brother (in CHRIST, as well as black. GOD invented colors and race, so...) pray that GOD strengthens you to let it go. It ain't easy, but its worth it. Its a struggle, but JESUS carried a cross up a hill. GIVE HIM YOUR STRUGGLE. I'm preaching to myself, as well. JESUS IS LORD!

  • AWESOME GOD THANK YOU IN JESUS NAME <3

  • There's a lot of confession in this song. It makes me silent every time I hear it.

  • two people must have missed the like button

  • Damn!Kirk went in on this one..absolutely luv this!!xx

  • This right here.. Right now.. This is what's up in my life.. Three sons.. all can relate to this song.. to this testimony.. "If your mama's still living, treat her right".. the pain was preparation for their destiny!! Babies.. Let it Go!

    Thanks so much for posting..

  • James Corden stole this song for the FIFA song!!!!

This one is soooooooo much better :L

  • I <3 this song and I <3 <3 <3 <3 Toby Mac!!

  • This is amazing ..

  • Muito Bom!!!

  • Don't get me wrong I think this was an unbelievable performance, but I wish Sonny could have been there....

  • love it ps preach this stuff jesus freaks

  • love it ps tell everyone

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG AND KIRK FRANKLIN. Regardless of the "holier than though" folks, his ministry is more than a blessing and encouragement to me. TAKE IT SERIOUSTHE DEMONS IN A MAN'S (WOMAN'S) MIND. I pray that one day, I will have the strength to LIVE out my testimony. GOD BLESS and LET IT OUT. Letting go may not be easy, but more than worth it.

I was blessed to give birth to a man-child and I pray that he continues to be the man of God he is.....

  • @HisGirl333

Hollywood is creeping into the church, infact it is taking over the Church. God have mercy on us.

  • @rokafela1 what is so "Hollywood" about sharing your testimony with the world to give them encouragement, showing that God can bring you out of anything?...if that's Hollywood than give me ALL of it!

  • @xBOMBFASHIONx GIVE ME THAT 2!!!

  • @xBOMBFASHIONx Wow.

  • @rokafela1

Is it wrong that a man is able to express himself through song? Is it wrong that that confession is appreciated by those at the Gospel awards, and those who hear it after here on Youtube? Is it wrong to praise your brother for the hard work that goes in to making the audience something good? Is it wrong because the lyrics are influential--maybe even necessary? Did he write this for publicity? Well, have you heard him say anything self-centered besides his prayers for family?

  • @Hodgestic

If you really analyzed what i said then you would have discovered that i am not against individuals, but systems that try to put down Christ and all that He stands for. The devil is attacking Christs church through different ways, and holywood is one of them. The devil wants to dilute Christianity with the world. And he is using holywood as his tool. error plus truth is still error. There is a great controversy going on between Christ and Satan for the souls of men.

  • @rokafela1

Whoa whoa! What you said? How is it that a person can "assume" you are talking about systems and not individuals when you simply write "Hollywood is [taking over] the church?" If I took the time to "analyze" as you would say, we'd be misquoting everybody anytime. Instead, I take your comment for what it appears to be to everyone else. That is not to blame me; it is to blame the person misunderstood. You wrote a statement that all responders misread because you didn't clarify.

  • @rokafela1

Now if we use your definition of what you MEANT to say, what does that even mean? How does that have any correlation to what HisGirl was saying or Kirk Franklin's testimony through performance?

I agree that Hollywood is a tool of the Devil, but it's also a tool for God. Governments and organizations of any kind including just people are vessels that can be used for both good and evil. BUT, I fail to see how it has anything to do with what HisGirl said.

  • This is a brilliant song! Unfortunately, songs like this won't get much play on either Contemporary Christian or Black Gospel radio because its sound doesn't fit neatly within those formats. Sadly, some narrow minds operate those formats!

  • wow i can't even express what im feeling right now

  • i luv this song with a pasion

  • so real and heart felt knowing that it's all real

  • GOOSE BUMPS!!! GOTTA LOVE KIRK!!! GOD BLESS HIM AND ALL OF YOU!!!

  • yes this my testimony

  • i thought he was small

  • This video always is my reminder about my life.......... what is important and what I need to do. Thank you for releasing this video for it is my dose of vitamin C when I feel so low.......... God Bless Kirk Franklin and the gift God gave him and God Bless Toby Mac for he too is using his gift - God Bless both of them for there is no racial divide, there is no color, there is no racism in God's Love and Kirk and Toby are setting examples and leading the way for America, let's follow their lead

  • I am giving birth to a baby boy. I feel the weight of responsibility to pour everything I can into him as a mother. I cannot teach him to be a man - God and his father will do that - but I can surely influence him. A lot. May all of us mothers realize our roles in the Lord regarding our sons. And may all of the fathers realize how CRITICAL it is to make Jesus Lord and live as the Men he created them to be. And, finally, may all the Churches and Pastors be the REAL DEAL.

  • Let it go leave it in gods hand

  • this is a good day to wake up.

  • that was real deep. that always brings tears to my eyes. slightly offended that he thought this song was only targeted to men but i still understand.

  • to be an atheist you say you dont belive in a God, but you have to asume that there is a God not to belive in him, so basically you know that God excist you just dont belive in him, I belive in jesus and my lord .............yes i know we cant see him but its a big thing called faith. just think about it???

  • kirk franklin has sum strong lyrics!

  • Obviousle @ricksparks isnt a real atheist. If you dont believe in sumthing then why break down the ppl who do. its almost like attacking someone because they eat too much instead of practicing tae kwon do like u might. You are probably a satanist. You seem against god instead of ignoring him. But these are the endtimes. satanists will take over youtube and we christians wont have a say in it soon. but for now. This is STILL a christian video. Atheists and satanists dont destroy the peace we keep

  • Man that is alot of cellphones in the air..IMFAO the men must of really felt his pain !

  • We cant change everyonr! I love this song for the message it brings to me...

  • How old were you when you were first told to believe in a deity, and why do you not realized you were brainwashed?

  • Aww... you feel sorry for me because I don't entertain the same delusion you do?

Well, keep this in mind.... according to Matthew 21, ALL prayers of believers will be GRANTED.

Pray for all the people who died in the Haitian earthquake to be brought back to life, right now. I dare you.

Feel free to let me know how that works out.

  • @ricksparks well keep this in mind the bible also says all because freshwater and dirty water can come from the same lake doesnt mean its GOOD so dont use the bible from the same mouth you mock god with and by the way im 15 and even im not that foolish

  • When you can prove the "bible" is anything but a book initially invented by ancient Canaanites who were looking to hide their own violent history with a mythological one, I'll take what you have to add seriously.

  • @ricksparks since were on this subject about proof you want me to show you all this proof well prove to me that the bible was created by canaanites who were so called "hiding" their history?

  • A great introduction for this is the PBS special "The Bible's Buried Secrets." It was released in 2008 and details quite a bit of discoveries by prominent archaeologists William Dever, Israel Finkelstein, and their contemporaries.

There might even be a torrent online, I know there was last year.

  • @ricksparks everything on tv is not true theres not any buried secret to the bible, the bible was created by strong beleivers who heard the word from god just like the government says theirs a recession and people wonder why we christian folk are living good through this so called recession because we plant seeds of faith to god and he pours blessings because we live by faith not by what we hear from the media or what we see in the government

  • I have given you a great starting point for the information YOU requested, and you are dismissing it without reviewing it. You are choosing to be an ignorant fool.

    So be it.

NO evidence; NO god. It's that simple. Anyone who claims otherwise is a liar or a fool.

  • @ricksparks for one i watch stuff like that all the time unlike you i reveiw things before criticising them and for two im not being a fool because im not angry or lashing out the bible says a man who responds to anger is a fool but he who holds his tongue has great wisdom

  • Unlike me?

Please stop pretending you know me well. You clearly don't, and pretending you do makes you appear like a complete fool.

The book also says you are to stone to death adulterers and children who refuse to obey their parents.

    FYI.

  • By the way, what does the recession have to do with the fact that the "bible" is bunk?

And if you're REALLY Christian, prove it.

Please give me ALL of your money.

Before you say NO, read this:

Matthew 5:42 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

  • Wow. what a powerful message in this song. God bless you Kirk for being so real. Thank you for chanllenging other young men.

  • sowing wickedness or righteousness

  • God has a plan for all of us. I have faith that God will will carry me through all my burdens and so far He has. I am not afraid to say that I am a christian and that these theories about God not being real and the Bible being lies are false. God is very real, and the Bible is the truth. That is what I believe.

  • @mintywoes

You keep referring to "god" as if one exists.

    Prove it.

  • ricksparks, how is it that you are so sure that the Canaanites were brain washing other humans? where is your proof and reason? seeing as we live longer now dont we have more to regret?

  • minty: Take a peek at the archaeological work of William Dever, Israel Finkelstein, and their contemporaries. Dever started out years ago to prove the "bible" true and discovered something very different.

We live longer because of science.

What does regret have to do with anything? Just because humans are afforded more opportunities to screw up than those who lived hundreds of years ago by virtue of longevity alone doesn't mean a "god" exists.

  • dear jesus im srry even tho my story is similuar to this song i wanna let it go it made me rember nd cry how i can do better i am a non believr but plz 4 giv me and my sins u may not evn kno my name but u led me this far thanx <3

  • Sha...He does know your name, He does know what youve been through. He loves you! There is something in you that does believe...He will get you through, even further. Give Him a shot...

  • hmph god is really cause god is everyone if u think there not then ur r blind from the inside

  • i love to see collaboz like this...i grew up listening to DCTalk and kirk and its good to see them join together to make music for the Lord!!!!1

  • cool melody, thx for posting.....

  • titans0419, I call these 'Holy Goosebumps'....C'mon church, get busy and help pick up hurting people w/o any forethought of when or why they are so damaged...Let's catch em, Christ will clean em....

  • MADDD GLORY

  • grandes interpretes

  • Chills all over my arms.... wow...

  • @ricksparks look - y don't you go to your little nonbeliever channels and make remarks like this there - i'm pretty sure that there you'll get all the feedback you want - but here, no one cares so your just wasting your time - one person see's it, marks it as spam and your comment is gone from view leaving no one else to see it -- if you think about it at the end your exactly what you call everyone else -- a fool

  • @ricksparks Im Not Even Religious -- Im Just Speaking On The Behalf Of All Those Who Have To Put Up With Your Remarks

  • What's it to you if I choose to remind people that putting faith in fictional nonsense is a detriment to humanity?

I challenge you to prove you're not religious. Write "There is NO such thing as god, especially the one described by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam." Do anything but that and consider yourself outed as just another religious fool.

  • @ricksparks There IS such a thing as god, ESPECIALLY the one described by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam -- I never said I didn't believe in God - all I said was that I wasn't religious - there's a difference

  • (sigh)

religious - a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies

    You are RELIGIOUS.

Please stop wasting my time with nonsense.

  • Do you take enjoyment in this debate? Explain a 'detriment to humanity'

And explain why such an issue is necessary to disprove the existance of a God when every night I converse with Him and every moment of the day I can feel and remember His incredible love and sacrifice?

  • I enjoy discussing things relevant to our society. Believing that an invisible being exists without one bit of real proof can be a dangerous delusion. Keep in mind, an atheist has never flown a plane into a civilian building or killed a women's healthcare provider because he thought a "loving god" wanted him to do so.

A detriment is something that causes damage, harm, or loss. No amount of good done in the name of religion can ever make up for the evil it inspires.

    - continued -

  • You may think you talk to a "god," but you might as well talk to Harry Potter or Gandalf. The conversation is still all in your head and very one-sided.

How old were you when you were first told to believe in a deity and why do you not realized you were brainwashed?

  • To your question my childhood was spent in lip-service; it was only when I began to read the Word and actually asked Jesus into my life that I received peace and, as you say, 'believed' though faith is more than simply believing.

I'm not going to pretend to be able to prove the existance of a divine being through science or human logics, and you must admit the impossibility of disproving it.

  • so when you were old enough to being to pretend you "felt" him you "felt" him.

    Sucker.

Tell me, how many prayers of yours have been answered? Cuz according to the "bible," ALL prayers of believers will be answered.

Pray for peace in the Middle East starting right now. I DARE you.

  • to ricksparks.i've seen enough pretenders and i should know what i feel and hear from Him, and how i see his effect on peoples' lives. dont pretend to have more knowledge about my relationship with the Father than i do.i have seen prayers anwered, sometimes not the way I expect according to His will, then guidance is always given.God seeks worshippers in spirit and in truth; there are many empty prayers.

You seem to have avoided my question on eternity. it seems like a costly gamble to me.

  • Prove there is a "god" and I'll believe in it.

Prove a conscious "eternity" exists and I'll concern myself with it.

  • ricksparks if everything was completely proven we wouldn't need the faith that the Father seeks. Can you consider, despite the cliche, the wind analogy? We can only see the effects of it..

One can't prove eternity excpet through God's Word. But I pray you would consider something beyond this empty life.

  • Once again - Until you prove a "god" exists, I am under no obligation to believe in such a thing.

What, exactly will you pray for? Cuz if you believe in the "god" of the "bible" and you're praying for me to be different than I am, you are asking your "god" to change what you SHOULD believe is "his" plan.

    Your religion is nonsense.

  • @ricksparks if theres no god who made u huh

  • Eman: My parents had sex. Same case as you.

NO evidence; NO god. Anyone who claims otherwise is a liar or a fool. Which are you?

  • @harey00

Actually, I can prove the "god" you believe in is not real, but I need your help.

The "bible" claims nothing is impossible with "god" and that all prayers of believers will be granted. Not considered, not mulled over... GRANTED.

As a believer, please pray - RIGHT NOW - for every parent who died in Haiti's earthquake to come back to life so the children who are currently orphaned don't have to suffer such an awful loss.

Let me know how that works out.

  • @ricksparks if u pray and u dont mean it or believe it it wont becom true an dude u need 2 repent thers a curse on haiti thats y they been sinning so u need to start loving god the world is ending soon real soon seriuoly i dont kno u but i dont wnt u 2 suffer in hell

  • Eman: There were two points in my life when I believed that I needed to "pray for Jesus" to come into my heart.

    Here's what happened:

    NOTHING.

Your "curse" crap is garbage. There's no such thing. The "god" of the "bible" is fiction, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool or a liar.

Prove there is a "hell" and I'll worry about it.

Why do you need to pretend an invisible being loves you in order to be happy?

  • A Christian means 'little Christ', we aim to become like Jesus. The values associated with this are peace, joy, and love for others because of the love of God. I don't understand how this lines up to your definition of detrimental. I need to remark though, ricksparks, that you have an incredible faith; to disregard the teachings of Jesus and so (let's say-) 'potentially' be condemned to eternal punishment. Eternity is a long time. But do you believe in eternity or Judgement Day?

  • @harey00

The things I believe in are based on reason and observation. The "eternity" and "judgement day" you believe in is based on fictional nonsense invented by ancient Canaanites who wanted to control the minds of other humans.

According to the "bible," all Christians are to give no thought for tomorrow and to love their enemies. Will you be trying to hug a member of the Taliban any time soon?

  • Look around and you should realise that, despite many's feigning, this life is only temporary, is only disgustingly materialistic. Do you not even hope for something beyond this?

Furthermore I would like to thank you for your openness of your beliefs and for your discussion.

  • @harey00

At least thanks to science our time on this planet is much longer than it was for humans who lived two-thousand years ago. If I were surrounded by people dying in their twenties and thirties, I too would likely want a "second life" in some kind of ethereal place.

You call the world disgustingly materialistic. Would you rather live in a cave, travel no further than you can walk, eat nothing but what you pick up or kill for yourself, and wear dead animal skins?

    Thank you as well.

  • ricksparks.. i have said before i cannot concretely prove a God in a way which you would accept, though you stubborn enough to retain your point of view regardless of what i say.

Nevertheless, you underestimate me when you assume i could not love my enemies or live without luxuries-turned-apparent-neccesities. The only thing important to me is my spiritual life, my love for Jesus and what I know he he has done for me.

  • harey: The fact that you cannot prove a "god" exists does not bother me. However, it should be of great concern to YOU.

How many minutes of your life have you dedicated to something which has never been proven to be real?

  • Call me Heath, mate.

I pray at least 15 minutes every day, and that is only because my flesh is weak.

You are forgetting the concept of faith.

And also what i feel, though you may smugly inform me that it is all pretend; due to your superior knowledge of my spiritual life.

  • ricksparks..

Prayer seems to be something you are convinced is empty. John 15:7: 'IF YOU REMAIN IN ME.. ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you' We must abide in Jesus and trust Him to lead us to the Father. John 4:24: 'God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.' And in Matthew 6: ' In this manner, therefore, pray:' and thus follows the Lord's Prayer. James 4:3:'When you ask, you do not recieve because you ask with the wrong motives'

  • Sorry, but it seems you've forgotten this:

Matthew 21, 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive

    .... ALL things!!!!

The contradiction to the verses you referred to is not surprising. The "bible" is FILLED with contradictions.

  • ricksparks.. what do believe happens after death?

and then what do you hope for after death?

  • As far as I know, nothing magical happens after death.

There is a theory that the chemical reactions produced by the decaying brain results in hallucinations.

I hope for nothing. I'm happy enough to engage in this life.

Why do you want another one?

  • Im not worried bout hallucinations, im talking bout the promise and Word of God that concerns Judgement Day, eternity in paradise, or eternity in eternal punishment. I think its a simple one or the other. God looks into everyone's heart when He judges, and when he condemns; remember 'where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  • "Heath:"

Why do you need an invisible friend and the promise of a life after this one to be happy?

That's an honest question, and not an attempt to insult you. I sincerely don't understand where you're coming from.

  • ricksparks.. if you are truly sincere you will consider all i say, not look only for ways to rebuke them, as i am sincere towards you.

I find my life overwhelmingly short, empty and without meaning, without the joy and love i have in Him. I am an emerging man in the prime of my physical life, i do often feel the temptation to live in the world, get laid, drink more than i need to. but i need, i wanna live for something greater. i have a purpose, i have a heavenly Father

  • Of course I'm sincere.

I can't help but notice you haven't answered my very clear questions.

  • I answered your most recent question with my last response. And as i look back to try and find any i might have overlooked i can see only 'why do you want another life?'

I am not in want because of my selfishness, one is allowed to hope for something beyond though. And the Lord promises eternal life for his followers. Christianity is more than this, though this is its reward.

  • You have not addressed why you need an invisible friend to be happy.

Ever think about why the "god" you believe in is referred to as a Lord or a King? Very regal, those ideas... Kings and Lords are a bit passé nowadays.

You claim a "god" promises eternal life. However, that information comes from a book written by humans who were attempting to cover up their real history with a fictional one. Take a look at the archaeological work of William Dever and Israel Finkelstein for more info.

  • i have indeed answered the invisible friend question.

To me William Dever appears to have only realised that not every account in the Old Testament can be directly related to historical findings. This does not prove them fictional or irrelevant to a Christian's study. Of Finkelstein i do not know enough about his works.

If these learned men are from whom your opinions gain strength, please consider incredible intellectuals who have loved God. One I look up to is C.S Lewis.

  • @harey00

Perhaps I need to address my question in a different way.

The "god" you believe in has NEVER been seen. The "heaven" you believe in has NEVER been proven real. The concept of a "soul" has NEVER been proven to be anything more than a construct of human minds. What do you get out of pretending otherwise?

Dever did much more than that. For one, he proved the people who invented the first five books of the "bible" were not former slaves in Egypt. Lewis does not impress me at all.

  • ricksparks.. God whom i believe in has NEVER been proven not real. 'To have faith is to be sure of the things you hope for, to be certain of the things that you cannot see' Heb 11:1. My faith is in God, my life is in God's hands and despite what you say, I feel his presence and the Holy Spirit in my life.

You feel that way about Lewis' teachings and conversion; you are one for concrete facts and historical and archaeological evidence.

  • @harey00

Zeus has never been proven not real. Nor has Ra, Krishna, and Bigfoot. Do you believe in them as well?

The fact that Lewis stole concepts from ancient religious text to augment his own fairy tales in an attempt to manipulate children into being more prone to believing Christian nonsense is quite annoying.

You like scriptural quotes? Here's a lovely one:

    - continued -

  • Luke 14:26 If any man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

No one, not even a person claiming to be the son of "god" (aka, "god" in disguise), is going to tell me in what order I am allowed to love those around me. A loving "god" would not make such a demand. What you have there is a tyrant; a by-product of the fact that the "bible" was written by men who wanted control of other men.

  • Luke 14:26. Even if you consider it silly, Christians follow Christ with their whole lives and so deny themsleves. Lewis was a great man of God, and anyone who takes the Chronicles in such a shallow way brings the shame upon himself. Look up Lee Strobel's books in relation to evolution and Darwinism.

The wages of sin mean eternal death, I thought you would know that.

Religous faith seems to you unnecessary, but it is not like choosing a career. It is a truth many people devote their lives to.

  • The term "great man of god" has no meaning to me. You might as write call someone a "great man of Gandalf" or "a great man of Yoda." They are all fictional characters.

Lewis was a coward. He recognized the inherent weaknesses of believing in a "god" with th same petty emotions as humans, but chose to do so anyway.

Strobel seems to me to be a charlatan. I've been exposed to him before. He claims he was atheist before he became a religious apologist, but not one bit of data proves his claim.

  • Death is likely eternal regardless whether one believes in the inane concept of sin.

Speaking of sin, would you REALLY blame your grandchildren if your grandparents broke a law? Think about it... that's EXACTLY what the whole Garden of Eden transgression is about.

    It's sheer nonsense.

I'm well aware many people waste a good portion of their lives believing an invisible man with a white beard and a crucified son loves them. I'm very sad for them.

  • @ricksparks dude god didnt blame us for their sins you remember the saying one bad apple spoils the bunch, because they listened to the DEVIL over GOD they were cursed and messed it up for everyone. but thanks be the god that he lets us repent and be born again

  • When you prove a "devil" and a "god" are real, I'll believe in them.

How old were you when you were first taught to believe in them, and were you at an age when you could read (and understand) the text their characters are based upon?

  • @ricksparks dude before i was a christian i believed in a god and a devil i just wasnt in it at first i didnt care what my parents said i was going to do what i wanted to until both god and the devil showed up in my dream and that dont mean im living out of fear that means im living in prosperity because god wanted something better for me

  • Well, dude, just because you dreamed about something which you'd already been exposed to doesn't impress me in the slightest.

Many times in my life, I've dreamed of things coming true - like new jobs, or moving to new states, that kind of thing. Last week I dreamed about a person I haven't spoken to since the late 90s. Should I think it's a "secret message" like you did with yours?

Of course not. We dream because our brains work even when we're sleeping.

    - continued -

  • @ricksparks but those things you have dreamed of are possible to happen and i didnt say it was a secret message it was proof to me that god wanted me to live a better life

  • When you prove a "god" exists I will believe in it.

I can't help but notice you still haven't done so.

  • Scientist Neil DeGrasse Tyson had a wonderful NOVA episode where they proved people's brains practice new things that have been learned, making the person do better at new tasks after a good night's sleep.

All your dream proves is that you were at a point when you were trying to decide what you wanted to believe in. What would be more impressive would be if you dreamed of a "god" or 'devil" BEFORE being exposed to the concepts.

    Do you understand?

  • I will pray for you whether you like it or not, and i will put my trust in God for my life, i will be ridiculed and argued against, i will be told i am foolish and taking part in something unnecessary. I know what will happen after this life whether you believe it or not. I love Jesus.

This will be my last comment but feel free to again stubbornly rebuke me.

  • Just keep in mind, when you pray you are asking the "god" you believe in to CHANGE whatever master plan that "god" supposedly had.

To paraphrase the late George Carlin (to protect any kiddies from his language), what's the point of have a grand master plan if any yahoo can come along and mess it up with prayer?

Love "Jesus" all you want. Just keep in mind, fictional characters are not real.

  • Richsparks

I'm new to this conversation but I realize what your talking about.

When you said we should turn the other cheek that does NOT mean we should be against war. Rather you have to look at it in the correct historical mindset.

When Jesus said that it was a time of an honor shame society. Because of this if you were a slave or servant the owner had every right to smack you across the face. What Jesus said was REVOLUTIONARY.

  • Bael: You inadvertently bring up an interesting point. Not only does the "god" of the "bible" condone genocide, "he" condones slavery as well.

I think most people agree slavery is evil.

    "God," however, does not.

    What does that tell you?

  • Why? because when the slave/servant was smacked it was on his right cheek because the owner would use his right hand and back hand slap him. This was the strike used on people lower then themselves. When Jesus said turn your cheek it was a passive way of saying I am your equal. Here do this. have a friend try to back slap your face with his right hand. Then turn your cheek tell him to try again. It can't happen. He would have to hit you elsewhere making you equal to him.

  • Anyone who struck one cheek of mine would find it impossible to do so to the other with me remaining passive.

I do not want to wait to find out if some kind of "after-life" exists to be sure anti-social miscreants are punished. I want it done in this life, ASAP.

There's a reason we humans enjoy movies where the bad guy dies at the end. Keep that in mind the next time you try to makes excuses for the nonsensical "turn the other cheek" line.

  • @ricksparks let me tell you something all because you cant see god doesnt mean hes not there when you look at someones head can you see their brain? no but you know its there because without one you cant function just like without god not even you can function just remember no matter what you say god still loves you

  • (yawn)

  • ricksparks

i dont feel zues, ra, krishna or the bigfoot in my heart, i dont feel them acting on my life. It all comes down to what you dont take a lot of notice of; it comes down to what happens in ones heart. You will say you've never felt it, but i doubt you've fully seeked for him with an open mind.

  • You are aware of the fact that your heart pumps blood, yes?

All emotion and thought is processed by your brain.

You can doubt all you want. I actually did, honestly & sincerely. Not only did I feel nothing, I'm certain you ALSO felt nothing that is not a product of your own brain.

Re-read your comments and replace the term "god" with "Xenu." It may help give you a sense of how you're coming across to me. Do you really want to live your life as a zealot which has never been proven real?

  • ... that last line should be, "Do you really want to live your life as a zealot in support of a being which has never been proven real?"

  • ricksparks..

If Darwinism was completely and concretely proven to be correct, I would still have this faith. I would not let one question stand in the way of what i KNOW. Evidence is not important to me. But it is to you. Idols in your life are men who have some evidence, some findings, and some theories. Richard Dawkins and archeaologists. While you are happy with this life, it is what I fear may happen to you after this life that disturbs me.

  • @harey00

    False bravado here. Boring.

  • @harey00

Also.... unfounded fear. What makes you think ANYTHING happens after death?

  • Evolution is not just a theory. It is an observed fact.

Evidence is not important to you? Then please, do not consider a career in law.

You say you are afraid of something which has never been proven to be real. I choose to spend my life being concerned about that which I know is real.

  • ricksparks..

It is in my faith that Jesus Christ saved us from the wages of sin; death. He loves us whether we reject it or not. I pray that you will not live out your life for another 50 years without accepting Jesus for real. Please reflect on this. There may always be questions unanswered but faith is needed. Millions of people across the world cannot have a conversion experience induced by tricks of the brain.

  • @harey00

    Wages of sin.. nonsense.

If you were a "god," would you REALLY think the best way to come up with to make up for a supposed transgression would be to magically knock up a virgin, be born as your own "son," and to die violently so humans could pretend to love you?

If the story of "Jesus" involved death by hanging, you think people would wear little nooses around their necks?

  • @ricksparks for one he didtnt knock mary up two jesus died violontely so you and me could be born again, before jesus's death people had to present a sacrifice to repent so when jesus died he was the major sacrifice of all people and he wasnt hanged he was CRUCIFIED

  • 1. Prove Mary was real

    2. Prove Jesus was real

    3. Prove "born again" is anything but a delusional concept

    4. If you can prove Jesus was real, then prove "he" was crucified

  • @ricksparks If your so sure about what you beleive in why is it so hard for you to read the books genesis, luke, and exodus, you beleive that after this life nothings going to happen so why not take your chances and challenge your faith?

  • What are you going on about? I've read the "bible" three times over the course of the past three decades. I'm working on a fourth to support a project I'm developing.

Interesting think about Genesis - in section 1 it claims "god" created plants, then animals, then humans. In section 2 it claims man came first, THEN plants, THEN animals, THEN woman - but only AFTER the man complained none of the animals were a suitable helper.

Both stories cannot be true. FYI.

  • @ricksparks thats not enough research if your trying to prove the stories are fake and for one in section 1 it says he created land not plants but in section 2 it does say plants those are two different things dude since your a strong beliver as an athiest and you dont be theirs no afterlife why not take your chances and try to be a christian just for a week and see how it works out

  • You're very confused. Do you even HAVE a copy of the book?

    Try biblegateway . com

Be sure to use an accurate translation, like the Hebrew in English or the King James. Other editions have been edited to REMOVE the contradiction.

Your challenge reminds me of a con-artist. "Come on, play just one round of cards... what have you got to lose?"

Time. And, in the case of your fairy-tale religion, brain cells. Also, credibility.

  • @ricksparks no im not conning you im just trying to how much you beleive in what you live cause you seem like you are a strong beleiver and i respect that

  • Do you possess the ability to make sense?

Seriously - WHAT is your damage? Indoctrinated as a child, currently engaged in trying to impress someone with your "spirituality," or just plain fooled?

  • @lamarian22 haha nice. you know in all my debating with others i never asked of the opponent to become what they are trying to disprove. nice move....er not butting in im just saying :) try to keep it peaceful guys

  • @mrm64 thanks its lyke they dont get it the world is a masrerpeice somebody had to paint this and the artist is GOD if hes so sure he would live in our shoes for a day and i bet god would be more appealing

  • People were dying long before the concept of "sin" was invented. Keep that in mind before using nonsensical phrases like that.

You're not the first person who has sanctimoniously announced you'll pray for me, and you'll likely not be the last. Why don't you pray for something useful, like everlasting peace in the Middle East, or for everyone suffering from pancreatic cancer to be cured for their sake as well as the sake of their friends & family?

    Religious faith is not necessary.

  • Oh let me ask you a question since you seem to be an atheist.

Have we reached perfection yet? It's been proven that we are the farthest that we shall evolve other than micro evolution. If were the perfect species why haven't we reached perfection?

With evolution ALL bad genes are constantly being removed because only those with the good genes continue on. Why are we constantly finding new diseases? shouldn't those diseases have been eradicated long ago by our "ancestors"

  • SEEM to be atheist? Funny.

"Perfection" is an unattainable goal due to the fact that such judgement would require a mind which has knowledge about every single thing which exists. No one has ever claimed humans are a perfect species. Anyone who has lied to you for some reason.

Actually, humans have many inactive genes. Chickens have inactive genes which, when activated, produce TEETH. Keep that in mind.

Most diseases are the result of evolving parasites or viruses.

  • @ricksparks before you speak you should do research the term sin didnt come about until eve ate from the tree nobody was dead because their were only two beings who existed at that time adam and eve.

  • ""Sin" is an imaginary construct.

Do you REALLY believe a woman made from a rib snacked on some magical fruit while hanging out with a talking snake? Really?

  • ricksparks..

    In response to your comment

The Lord does say to love your neighbour as yourself

and to love the Lord your God with all your mind, strength and soul.

I thank you for your correspondance and conclude it with the most literal sense of these words. God bless you.

  • If you believe your "god" wants you to love your neighbor (and turn the other cheek and give no thought for tomorrow) then you should do the following:

    A) Be against ALL forms of war

    B) Try to hug a member of the Taliban

Let me know how those things work out.

  • Regal expressions may seem limited to the past, but is the meaning, not the jargon that is important. I could easily call my Saviour the Governer, my Prime Minister, President of my life, Chairperson. But a King presides over even great leaders, and remains a King forever.

  • Your not being very logical.

I'd rather have a President than a King. Kings make unquestionable edicts, like the aforementioned "hate your family or you can't love me" nonsense.

Do you REALLY want to follow a "god" which demands you care less for your parents than "he?" If I were a "god" I would want people to love whomever they chose, in whatever order they deemed appropriate.

  • These are the epistles of the human race ;-).

This was my first time hearing or seeing this tune - tears are just streaming down my face ;-). Tears are perfect prayers.

This song is a testimony of many lives, mine included. I read a book many years ago called Balcony People - check it out if you ever feel like that.

This blessed me. Thank you for posting.
