  • I always find these early recordings fascinating because the "Heifetz sound" had not yet been fully realized. Also, it is easy to see he is still somewhat under the influence of Auer in his rather romantic approach. Later, he would develop even more precise intonation.

    Interesting that his Wieniawski Scherzo Tarantella is marvelous, but not nearly as good as Menuhin's 1932 recording. At least to me.
