Never played an RR24, but I guess it's the same as the Kevin Bond but with a single active pickup and a FR trem.

so, i'm about to buy this guitar, i play mainly thrash metal like exodus, sepultura, megadeth, slayer, metallica, violator, testament, anthrax, evile, ... and some old school death metal from times to times.

is this a good guitar for that? does the floyd stays in tune?

The guitar is capable, assuming you've got an appropriate amp for that genre. It has passive pickups (I'd probably go for active pickups for real heavy stuff), but they're good stock pickups. I've heard mixed things about the licensed tremelo unit, but I never had a problem with mine, it held tune perfectly.

@DrSlackBladder i don't use an amp. i use my line 6 pod ux1 for practicing at home and studio's dual rectifier for band rehearsals.

i prefer passive pickups (especially this ones) to active pickups, they are more natural and warm.

and i've just heard good things about all in this guitar, so i'm going for it.
