I love Raccoons; I have a family of three in my backyard, but they've eaten most of the fish in my pond and I'm very upset so I'm having a friend move them to a forest where they'll be much happier and won't eat my pets >:(
@TheInstantClassic1 - Putting fish out is like putting out a welcome mat for raccoons to come - if there's food, they'll come - :) Thanks for caring about them though, some people have less than humane ways of dealing with raccoons that eat from their pond - :(
awww! i love raccoons and would love to see them in my garden but i live in the UK!
I work for a rescue company over here that rescues badgers, hedgehogs, fox's, squirrels and birds and soon we are coming to the US so its been lovely watching your videos! @151megz - You're welcome, that's definitely what I'm trying to do! Im a farmer i grow tobacco and corn. Coons eat over 200 dollars worth of crops each month. They break in to barns, shit on everything, scrach up cars, rip apart garbage and lot more damage. I shot 4 of them and the game cop came up few weeks ago and saw 3 dead coons in my fire pit and gave me 3, 150 dollar tickets that i have to go to court with. Its bull shit.
@DamTreeHuggers - No, it's *not* bullshit, although I can see how coons could piss you off if they're screwing up your livelihood... A lot of places require you to have a depredation permit (or something similarly named, a wildlife control permit, even a hunting permit, etc.) if you need to get rid of "nuisance" animals like that. Just shooting them without a permit and expecting to get off with-*out* paying a fine for it - *that* is bullshit.
How dare these Raccoons just come into North America (we were here first) and start eating our crops. God damn wild animals - let's exterminate them. Maybe we'll have better luck than we did with the American Buffalo. God damn things are still around.
@DamTreeHuggers Shit, I would hate to see what the game cop would do if he came to my place. I have caught so many raccoons that I damn near wasted all my ammo shooting them. Well over 300 of them in the past year. Starting to cost too much wasteing ammo on them, so I just throw the whole cage with the coon inside into the pond and let them drown.
So do I, you're extremely lucky to live in the wetlands and have raccoons! I need to travel to see mine - :) Dog food is the best thing to feed them nutritionally, so that's great!

Cute videos! I'll have to use these videos as reference when drawing raccoons, opossums, skunks and others. These videos have such good quality! Didn't know what sounds a raccoon makes. "Chittering". Hmm. I'm now subscribed.
I found this from your comments on Sandra And Woo.
Ah! Very cool! I've been following Sandra and Woo for the past few weeks - I found out about it on Wikipedia of all places, through Novil's profile page there.
Thanks for the nice comments! I absolutely love raccoons, and I try to catch as many natural details as I can with them - I have shots of them playing, destroying things, interacting with each other (which as of last weekend include a shot of 2 raccoons' courtship ritual!) - pretty much everything!
Raccoon sounds are something I try to capture the most of - they're not the most vocal of creatures when they don't have to be, but kits tend to "chitter" more than adults. Speaking of the courtship ritual (which I plan to post soon), that video has some good natural sounds of adult coons chittering - a first for me, and a very intimate look at a somewhat private raccoon "ritual"!
I thought so too! I was watching it as they were doing it and thought "Either I can go out and screw this shot, or I can just let raccoons be raccoons and let them play with it..." They seemed to love it! I had to get a new mic eventually (not just because of that, but leaving it out in the rain), but at least I caught something interesting with it before it died! :)
It would! I've seen some online that do, they're extremely hard to take care of and extremely destructive (I actually like destructive animals though :)) I'm uploading a HD version of this video right now if you want to see it in higher resolution - it should be available in a few hours.
beautiful family. I seen one raccoon in central park and he was FAT and I felt bad for him since one day he will be caught by the Parks dept and killed. He was so fat that he couldn't even run but only waddle away. He was so beautiful.
Aww! That's so sad - they don't just get rid of the coons in Central Park do they? I've seen nature shows where they show raccoon families in Central Park, they look pretty healthy in those. One of the photographers that faithfully follows Pale Male at the boat pond has a few snapshots of coons in Central Park... I hope the parks department doesn't screw with your fat coon - :(
Ahhh. They are so cute. How funny that they 'drowned' the mic. Hope that thing doesn't have enough 'juice' to harm them submerged in the water that way. Yep, normal raccoon behavior, try to take everything apart. I sit out with 'mine' and watch them. Someday I hope to get a video cam set up. The chittering is a sound the kits make to call their Mom. The Mom's make a sort of "whoop whoop" sound to summon the kits - or so it seems to me.
Great video.I look forward to seeing others as time allows!
Thanks! I absolutely love raccoons, they're my favorites! I do have quite a few raccoon videos (and I plan to release a "beauty of raccoons" video soon - if I get a chance to work on it!! :)), so definitely do check back! I love their inquisitive nature, I didn't think they'd think to take my mic and dunk it though! The mic doesn't have much power going to it, just a small watch battery - I wouldn't want them to hurt themselves either! :(
I love the chittering noises the kits do to their mom! That's one of the cutest raccoon vocalizations there is! I've heard *of* the sound before, and I've managed to catch a subdued chitter here and there, but this is the first time a kit did it *right into the mic*! Very glad when I caught that!! I've heard the whooping sound before too, but that can be interpreted in many different ways! Some do it to say "want more of THIS?" :) I'd love to compile a collection of raccoon vocalizations!
I got your message too - I'm going through a bunch of comments I've needed to reply to in the past few weeks while I get a little time here, I want to take my time to reply to that one - :) So I'll be writing you soon... I want to leave the Profile comment on though, that way other people will see the cat food vs dog food comment - hopefully that helps other people who may be concerned with the health of their raccoons!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, they're just so awesome to watch!
Hehe... it did break... :( Strangely enough though, it wasn't *this* that broke it! A very heavy rainstorm spelled the end for that mic, but I recently purchased a new one to replace the old soaked one... and a raccoon played with it the first day I had it out there! Can't keep anything from the curious paws of a racccoon! :)
Fantistic! I do love watching wild 'coons. Scooteroo certainly keeps us on our toes, I am glad you enjoy watching him. He is a Blond raccoon, 5th generation captive bred. He is 9 months old, and boy does he rule the house. He LOVES swimming in our canal out back, and playing with our dog. I will post more soon! Liz
Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing more from you! Scooteroo definitely looks like he rules the house! :) Wild raccoons have always fascinated me - well, raccoons in general have always fascinated me! I love everything about them, their mannerisms, their movements, their curiosity - they're just such interesting creatures! As far as my raccoon videos, I've been interested in them for years, but it wasn't until last year that I found a place where I could actually watch them!
Hehe... I'm late too! :) They definitely are! I've got more coming soon (a line I always say :)), so keep checking for that! Congrats on looking into the HD cam - HD is awesome to work with, but the lighting is key to get a good shot out of the scene.
Great Shots!!! They remind me of my foster babies over years. I love the way they put your microphone in the water. After all raccoons put everything in their water. If you get more raccoon shots please keep sending them to me.
Hi Aletheia! It's been awhile! WIll do - I've actually got a ton of raccoon videos on my page if you go back a bit, raccoons are what I've been getting most of my footage of lately! I believe I have over 30 different clips of raccoons doing something or other on my page now! They definitely do love the water, don't they! :)
What stops you from snagging up one of those little guys and keeping it for yourself? I admire your self control and wish more people could respect the wild life as much as you do!!!!
Thanks Linda! I'm a little late getting back (as usual :)), they're definitely "snaggable" little kits, but you have to keep your distance... :) I let my camera do the interacting with them - they definitely seem to like my equipment!
They are wild and probably wouldn't take well to being domesticated. It wouldnt' be fair to them and there may be laws against doing that in some states.
There are in some places, but raccoons are legal as pets in other states/places. You can't take a wild raccoon and make it a pet, but there are people that breed them for pets. I don't know any people like that personally, but I know they exist.
I can imagine! I've heard quite a few stories of raccoons that raid the refrigerator when they get large enough! Then they just sit there like they were supposed to be there in the first place - "What?" :)
One mnore comment - it was really funny when they dragged the micophone into the water and kept playing with it. Inspired capture. I hope the microphone dried out okay...
It did - it crackled and hissed a little for the rest of the night, but I've used it time and time again since then with absolutely no problems! That was one of those shots that you could either run out and grab the mic or just let them play with it... I chose the latter - :)
So do I! Hehe... it took me years before I found a place where I could watch raccoons, but now that I have, it's definitely worth it! I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the comment!
You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it! I have a lot of other videos I need to release eventually, the hard part is finding the time to sit down and edit them. Every piece I do needs an opening sequence (like the "2 and a half minutes of..." piece at the beginning of this video) and that takes me longer to do, because it's got to fit the mood of the piece... I'm kind of picky about that! :)
Thank you so much for saying so! I love yours too - Molly's an awesome ambassador for raccoonness! :) I'm glad you liked it! The kits are always playing around with something!
Such good footage! Ive always wondered why they wash everything. I put a fresh pan of water out every night, by morning it looks like they have been mud wrestling in it.
I'm glad you liked it! They do that to mine too, we put clean water out at night and by the morning, it *looks* like a muddy creek! I think they "wash" things because they have very tactile sense of touch, especially in their hands, almost better than their sight. They feel around for food, and the water somehow heightens their sense of touch, so they dunk things in there to feel what it is they've got.
Hehe... it still works, so no biggie there! At least they had fun with it! I'm glad you liked the video! I love those shots where they just stand there and look at the camera - quintessential curious raccoon shots - I have one of those from the last HD session that I really need to put on YT soon (it shows a closeup-closeup of a raccoon's face!)
Awesome footage (as per usual) I love how they have to 'wash' some of their food.. including your mic..!
I've been really busy this year and need a new camera due to the battery door on my current camera falling apart and now only being held closed with tape :-p
I love those 'coonies.. they're just... amazing. Something we don't get in the UK unless we visit a zoo... *sigh* at least we can share yours :-D
Hi Abi! It's been a while! :) I've been wicked busy too, I'm glad you liked the video! It took me 14 years before I found the place where I watch raccoons now, so I definitely know where you're coming from! Now that I do have a place to set cameras up to catch them, I just can't stop watching them - they're just awesome! :) I'd like to get video of foxes too, but I don't get them.
Sorry to hear about your camera - at least it still works with the tape on it! We have one like that too! :)
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching - I'm glad you liked it! Actually, that couldn't be further from the truth, I love the kits! I thought it was funny when they did that, I just sat and watched it! The mic still works, so no harm no foul - raccoons are just so playful, I'm amazed they hadn't done that sooner to the mic! :)
They do! Nope, I didn't interfere with them and the mic at all - although once they were done drowning it, I *zipped* out there to dry it off! :) I think they ran off because Mom coon ran off, and they just followed her, leaving the mic. The time between when they ran off and when I stood there ringing out the windscreen was about 45 seconds.
Great video as usual! You caught those cuties doing what they do best, eating and destroying. That's Outlaws favorite way to pass the time for sure! :)
Hehe... I could see him doing that! :) Yep, coons are definitely curious creatures! "Munch, munch - ooh, *this* looks fun to play with!" *riiip* "...munch..." :)
They're definitely a handful, but mom keeps them in line! :) These kits would be about 5 or 6 months old, because they don't usually come out foraging with Mom until 8-9 weeks or so and I've seen them around since July.
You are still so addicted to Racoons hm? Hehe jsut kidding, I know that when you really love something then you love it. I'm really impressed of your equipement and how you arranged the video in general. It was nice to watch, as always!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Yep, I'm still definitely addicted to raccoons - they're fun to watch and I find everything about them interesting! Having kits to watch now *with* the adults just makes it that much cooler! :)
Hehe... I've seen so many videos of your crew destroying things, it's time to return the favor! :) Thanks! I'm glad you liked it - the mic *does* still work actually! The foam surrounding the mic though... that's a different story!
Nice. Big fun with that microphone! You may already know this.. but many racoons carry a parasite. Baylisascaris procyonis is a zoonotic parasite. It is fatal to most all other animals and often by the time you catch an infection in another animal its too late ot treat it. It can also infect humans, though deaths are rare.
You can search online under Baylisascaris procyonis for more info.
Thanks! Hehe... well, we don't drink the water - :) I've heard quite a bit about raccoon roundworm in the past on various raccoon-related mailinglists I've been subscribed to. The way we do the raccoon project is usually by sticking a motion-activated camera out in the woods maybe 2 days or so a week. Every time the camera gets set up, the water dish gets cleaned and everything gets re-situated. I hope everything's cleaned out adequately enough each time so catching RR isn't a problem.
Thanks! Maybe some residual dust from a cheerio or two landed on it, but I really think they were just fooling around with it because it looked fun to play with! If they really thought there was food inside it, the adult coons would have been after it too!
Exactly! Hehe... "this mic isn't *soft* enough!" :) As soon as they ran off, I *zipped* outside to dry it out, but watching them do that, I couldn't stop them from having fun with it! It wouldn't hurt them at all, and my mic still works, so it was worth the dunk - :)
Ha! True! Although there's popping sounds in it, so I'd have to use it for an effect where someone's drowning while popping bubble packing material, and... :)
I tell ya, if this rain keeps up I can give you extra sound effects of drowing! My front paddock is a lake and were flooding. Might need the bubble wrap to stay a float! Do you have extra for my horses? hahahaha!
Zach, ummm how dumb, probably cause it's late but I spelt drowning twice as drowing!!!! Sorry but I hope you knew what I mean't!!! hehhehe! Yes I'm drowing and my brain is wet!!!!
Hehehe... that's cool, I got you! :) We got a lot of rain yesterday from the remnants of Hurricane Hanna, our basement flooded a bit and one of our ceilings got wet, so I definitely got you! Of course there's extra for the horses! :)
Sun is out today and I'm feeling fine! The tide is going down!!! Had a chat to the girls in England and their suffering from terrible weather as well! What's happening to our planet??? It can't be global warming!!!!!! ummmmmm! You're so sweet to supply my horseeees with bubble wrap! hehhehee!
That might have been why they did it, I think they just thought it was fun to play with! They never do that with the mic when the windscreen's on it, maybe they just felt like teething on something! :) The mic's relatively inexpensive (well, it was $100, which isn't that much for a shotgun mic), but it still works, so all is good!
Thanks for sending me your newest in HD. Love those critters. A mike baptism huh. had Jo's kits eating from my hand for a couple of weeks, then they just up and left. sure do miss'um. I'll leave the light on for them, should they be passing my way again. sid
You're welcome - I'm glad you liked it! That's sad that Jo's kits left, but it was so cool in the first place that she came back! I hope they do come back some day, maybe they're just changing their foraging routes?
Graham Crackers, Cheerios and a Hot Tub. Man I wish I was running with them coons. They are living large, sing me a sad song there bandit. I sure am glad that mic was plugged into a GFCI.
Hehe... yep, they've definitely got it made! :) Not really a GFCI, but there isn't much power at all going to that mic (it's not a phantom power mic, it's just got a small watch battery in it) so it wouldn't cause any damage to anyone being dunked in like that... well, the mic didn't work for a few hours, but the coons were perfectly fine! :)
You're welcome! I know of some people that have raccoons as pets, but it's a very, very dedicated thing to properly care for a raccoon, and it's not legal in most places. Search for "Remo Raccoon's Home Page" - some of his information is out of date, but it will give you a general idea of what it's like to have a coon as a pet.
I Luv raccoons. They are very nice and cute.

taburineagle 3 years ago

I want to leave the Profile comment on though, that way other people will see the cat food vs dog food comment - hopefully that helps other people who may be concerned with the health of their raccoons!
taburineagle 3 years ago
They are sooooooooo cute!
Funny when one of them started playing with the microphone!
I hope it wasn't too broken...
Fun video!
angelusa73 3 years ago

Liz
mrsmph 3 years ago
As far as my raccoon videos, I've been interested in them for years, but it wasn't until last year that I found a place where I could actually watch them!
taburineagle 3 years ago
Hehe - yes, exactly! "Investigators are still combing the scene, watching security camera videos to determine the culprit... oh, here he is!" :)

You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it! That mic has since "passed away" actually - but I don't think it was due to this night... :)

Hah! Dragged into the water...it is funny how they went for the mic!
Tstormer 3 years ago
I thought so too... :) They're definitely inquisitive little kits!
taburineagle 3 years ago
yeah they are...I have not seen any around here in a awhile.
It will prob be next year or more before I get and HD cam. But i just got a new Video Editor!

Awesome dude! (sorry Im late)
Looks great! My next cam is def an HD.
Coons are cool!
Tstormer 3 years ago

If you get more raccoon shots please keep sending them to me.
pollyandfriends 3 years ago
Hi Aletheia! It's been awhile! WIll do - I've actually got a ton of raccoon videos on my page if you go back a bit, raccoons are what I've been getting most of my footage of lately! I believe I have over 30 different clips of raccoons doing something or other on my page now! They definitely do love the water, don't they! :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
Too cute!
What stops you from snagging up one of those little guys and keeping it for yourself? I admire your self control and wish more people could respect the wild life as much as you do!!!!
You and your videos are awesome!
2skittles4u 3 years ago
Thanks Linda! I'm a little late getting back (as usual :)), they're definitely "snaggable" little kits, but you have to keep your distance... :) I let my camera do the interacting with them - they definitely seem to like my equipment!
taburineagle 3 years ago
They are wild and probably wouldn't take well to being domesticated. It wouldnt' be fair to them and there may be laws against doing that in some states.
tall32guy 2 years ago
There are in some places, but raccoons are legal as pets in other states/places. You can't take a wild raccoon and make it a pet, but there are people that breed them for pets. I don't know any people like that personally, but I know they exist.
taburineagle 2 years ago
Can't take nature out of them I'm afraid! I woke up last thanksgiving and Quinn was in the kitchen drawer eating graham crackers, she loved them!
jungian9111 2 years ago
I can imagine! I've heard quite a few stories of raccoons that raid the refrigerator when they get large enough! Then they just sit there like they were supposed to be there in the first place - "What?" :)

Excellent footage my friend. Thankyou for sharing.

One mnore comment - it was really funny when they dragged the micophone into the water and kept playing with it. Inspired capture. I hope the microphone dried out okay...
TomChair 3 years ago
It did - it crackled and hissed a little for the rest of the night, but I've used it time and time again since then with absolutely no problems! That was one of those shots that you could either run out and grab the mic or just let them play with it... I chose the latter - :)

I think this video is the best yet! Are you in a blind so that you can control the camera zoom or is it remote?
raccoonbrat 3 years ago
Thank you so much for taking the time to capture this on film, and for posting it. I loved it! :)
StreetSidhe 3 years ago
You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it! I have a lot of other videos I need to release eventually, the hard part is finding the time to sit down and edit them. Every piece I do needs an opening sequence (like the "2 and a half minutes of..." piece at the beginning of this video) and that takes me longer to do, because it's got to fit the mood of the piece... I'm kind of picky about that! :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
That's so much fun to watch the youngsters. They are always sooooo hardworking. And the ending is great! Thank you!!! I love your videos :-))
MoaMolly 3 years ago
Thank you so much for saying so! I love yours too - Molly's an awesome ambassador for raccoonness! :) I'm glad you liked it! The kits are always playing around with something!
taburineagle 3 years ago
Such good footage! Ive always wondered why they wash everything. I put a fresh pan of water out every night, by morning it looks like they have been mud wrestling in it.
wyliesnyder 3 years ago
I'm glad you liked it! They do that to mine too, we put clean water out at night and by the morning, it *looks* like a muddy creek! I think they "wash" things because they have very tactile sense of touch, especially in their hands, almost better than their sight. They feel around for food, and the water somehow heightens their sense of touch, so they dunk things in there to feel what it is they've got.
taburineagle 3 years ago
They're gorgeous ... I loved the close-up you got of mum !! Your poor mic ...
TillyFlop 3 years ago
Hehe... it still works, so no biggie there! At least they had fun with it! I'm glad you liked the video! I love those shots where they just stand there and look at the camera - quintessential curious raccoon shots - I have one of those from the last HD session that I really need to put on YT soon (it shows a closeup-closeup of a raccoon's face!)
taburineagle 3 years ago
Awesome footage (as per usual) I love how they have to 'wash' some of their food.. including your mic..!
I've been really busy this year and need a new camera due to the battery door on my current camera falling apart and now only being held closed with tape :-p
I love those 'coonies.. they're just... amazing. Something we don't get in the UK unless we visit a zoo... *sigh* at least we can share yours :-D
audiocoffee 3 years ago
taburineagle 3 years ago
Hehe... awesome video! That's too funny when they start going for the mic! They sure are busy little ones!!! Loved it!

Great video, enjoyed this one, but I guess those little guys are not to popular after drowning your mic. Thanks to SonnyLees for sharing this gem.
OzPix 3 years ago
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching - I'm glad you liked it! Actually, that couldn't be further from the truth, I love the kits! I thought it was funny when they did that, I just sat and watched it! The mic still works, so no harm no foul - raccoons are just so playful, I'm amazed they hadn't done that sooner to the mic! :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
waschbaeren are cute little bandits!and they really look like bandits because of their masked face.
did they back up as you went outside to "safe" your microphone, or did you went out as they were allready done with their drowning mission?
Nudelsalatbomber 3 years ago
They do! Nope, I didn't interfere with them and the mic at all - although once they were done drowning it, I *zipped* out there to dry it off! :) I think they ran off because Mom coon ran off, and they just followed her, leaving the mic. The time between when they ran off and when I stood there ringing out the windscreen was about 45 seconds.
taburineagle 3 years ago
Great video as usual! You caught those cuties doing what they do best, eating and destroying. That's Outlaws favorite way to pass the time for sure! :)

oh goodness aren't they something. How old would they be?
ShallAdoreCats 3 years ago
They're definitely a handful, but mom keeps them in line! :) These kits would be about 5 or 6 months old, because they don't usually come out foraging with Mom until 8-9 weeks or so and I've seen them around since July.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Yep, I'm still definitely addicted to raccoons - they're fun to watch and I find everything about them interesting! Having kits to watch now *with* the adults just makes it that much cooler! :)

I hope everything's cleaned out adequately enough each time so catching RR isn't a problem.
taburineagle 3 years ago
Thanks for the heads-up though!
taburineagle 3 years ago
Reminds me of flammuth's videos... so many coons! They must've thought there was some food to be found in the mic or something.
chibudgielvr 3 years ago
Thanks! Maybe some residual dust from a cheerio or two landed on it, but I really think they were just fooling around with it because it looked fun to play with! If they really thought there was food inside it, the adult coons would have been after it too!

SonnyLees 3 years ago
Exactly! Hehe... "this mic isn't *soft* enough!" :) As soon as they ran off, I *zipped* outside to dry it out, but watching them do that, I couldn't stop them from having fun with it! It wouldn't hurt them at all, and my mic still works, so it was worth the dunk - :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
You maybe able to use that drowing sound in another vid! gurgle gurgle! hehhehee!
SonnyLees 3 years ago
Ha! True! Although there's popping sounds in it, so I'd have to use it for an effect where someone's drowning while popping bubble packing material, and... :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
I tell ya, if this rain keeps up I can give you extra sound effects of drowing! My front paddock is a lake and were flooding. Might need the bubble wrap to stay a float! Do you have extra for my horses? hahahaha!
SonnyLees 3 years ago
Zach, ummm how dumb, probably cause it's late but I spelt drowning twice as drowing!!!! Sorry but I hope you knew what I mean't!!! hehhehe! Yes I'm drowing and my brain is wet!!!!
SonnyLees 3 years ago
Hehehe... that's cool, I got you! :) We got a lot of rain yesterday from the remnants of Hurricane Hanna, our basement flooded a bit and one of our ceilings got wet, so I definitely got you! Of course there's extra for the horses! :)
taburineagle 3 years ago
Sun is out today and I'm feeling fine! The tide is going down!!! Had a chat to the girls in England and their suffering from terrible weather as well! What's happening to our planet??? It can't be global warming!!!!!! ummmmmm! You're so sweet to supply my horseeees with bubble wrap! hehhehee!
SonnyLees 3 years ago
I hope that wasn't an expensive microphone!
I bet they thought that it would soften by washing it and then they could eat it.
boombella 3 years ago
That might have been why they did it, I think they just thought it was fun to play with! They never do that with the mic when the windscreen's on it, maybe they just felt like teething on something! :) The mic's relatively inexpensive (well, it was $100, which isn't that much for a shotgun mic), but it still works, so all is good!

poorpossum 3 years ago
Hehe... yep, they've definitely got it made! :)

would a raccoon make a pet at all?
btw ty for sharing this vid
steerplasty 3 years ago
You're welcome! I know of some people that have raccoons as pets, but it's a very, very dedicated thing to properly care for a raccoon, and it's not legal in most places. Search for "Remo Raccoon's Home Page" - some of his information is out of date, but it will give you a general idea of what it's like to have a coon as a pet.
