when I watched 2:17-2:19, I can't help reading the expressions of the three famous gymnasts' face. Bessonova is truly excited by Gudonko's performance because they are teamates and perhaps best friends, Kabeva (sorry for saying this) has the facial expression which seems to say: "OK, whatever, it is a good routine, though....“ And from Tchachina's face I can see true appreciations, she really admired the performance, although Gudonko is from their major "rival" team.

Olympic medals do not equate to the best rhythmic gymnast. Oksana Kostina and Elena Vitrichenko, Maria Petrova, Larissa Lukyanenko, Tatiana Ogrizko, never won olympic gold medals and they were some of the best.

Kostina wasn't a great gymnast to me :( No flexibility, and her routines were never smiley and charming. Tatiana Ogrizko I like and Maria Petrova is OK. Vitrichenko is BORING.

All ones are beautiful, ... all sequences and exercises are magical, in the way you did it, music-routine-moment.... EXCELENT!!. I missed Yulia RASKINA in this video, she is not so popular but in sydney 2000 she deserved the gold; and also to Kabaeva in 1999-2000 years, when she was just the best one.

Thank you! Yes, Chaschina, Bessonova and Batyrchina are among my favourite gymnasts but actually Vitrichenko is my all time favourite and Kostina is also a favourite. I don't really know why I didn't include them (and Raskina! Love Raskina!) in the video more, but I always look for movements that fit the music. But if you look one more time, you'll see that there is in fact a clip of Raskina also :)

Like you said, WAAAAY underscored. It was the best ribbon routine in Athens no doubt. So heartbreaking, she knew she'd done her best and that everyone in the arena were in awe and then the score flashes and she just breaks down and cries... it still makes me so sad. :(
