I also think putting the speaker on the back of the skeleton is better. It always seemed to me that the speakers on the bottom died faster. My theory was that you had to hold him while he sang, because if you let him sit, the sound waves would get trapped under him, and go back into the speaker, which damaged it.

I think this is a 2002 one because it sounds quite muffled, meaning the speakers are on it's battery case. In 2003, Gemmy changed it by putting the speaker directly behind the hamster's "skeleton," which I personally think is better. It makes the sound more surround like. In 2004, Gemmy decided to keep the speaker inside the body, and the 2004 hamsters and mini dancing hamsters also had this installment. But this also was made in Gemmy Frogz , turtle dancers, and other gemmy franchise after '02

duh this is a 2003 version look at the tag maybe its the batteries or your speakers.

all 2003 dancing hamsters take AA's look at his tag its a in 2002 gemmy used there speakers on the battery case your right but on my Sgt.Murphy and captain carl the speaker is also on the bottom base.and those 2 were released in 2003.i know cuz my captain carl does not have his box and the front of my sgt.murphys box ripped i could see it a little

@jailhouserick629 The 2003 Dancing Hamsters that don't just move their arms and head (like this one) have their speakers on the bottom of the base, except for Sugar and J. Tee who have theirs on the back of the "skeleton."
