1992 was a rock-bottom year for Ferrari. Weird, double-floor F92 chassis, under-powered V12 and poor Ivan Capelli thrown into the seat - wrong man at the wrong time. Alesi wrung the best he could out of this car.
Lovely noise from the Ferrari V12, not much else. Alesi and Larini were slowest through the Suzuka speed traps, if I recall, slower even than the crappy Yamaha-powered Jordans. I remember Alesi being sandwiched between the two Minardis of Fittipaldi and Morbidelli up to the pitstops, and there was simply nothing he could do about it. The F92A was a complete joke, almost as bad as the 312T5.
It's '92, you can hear that commentator, when stating the order, mentioned Mansell, Patrese, Gugelmin(who last competed in '92). Also the sound of '92 Ferrari is different to '95 ferrari, you can find an onboard of Alesi at Suzuka in 1995 and compare them.:)
@dihauti You could have just sad that unfortunatly Senna was not among as back in 95. Obviously you are right, they even talk that Gugelmin had to decide to what team he was going in 93:). People don´t watch the videos till the end...
He finished 5th

@Audioquest56 Agreed, the '92 package was a mess for Ferrari. And a barbecue on wheels much of the time.

I always thought that Jean Alesi drove with both hands too close together. I had the same impression from this video.

@brunosaboia Yes, he does! Also, in some other videos you can see he turns his head a lot more than anybody else. ;)

I think this is more like 1995. Not 1992. Great Video though.

@xgrod: Also in 95, they had the 3 liter engine, which revs much higher than this.
zedextreme8177 11 months ago
@xgrod In 1995 they had yellow colloured Good Year marks on the tyres.
