That CNN contributor is blinded by false patriotism, and he's on a major news network outside of FOX. false patriotism is clearly infecting the media.
What they seem to fail to see is not only , should we look at 9-11 , but I really think we should look at some policies and things we might be doing to bring that kind of reaction and if those things can be changed . No one is condoning the actions of 9-11 , but at the same time there were some dynamics prior to that that may have triggered it that need to be looked at IMO
@khanmar I can see how my comment was confusing. Sorry. I do think we are running an empire destined to destroy itself.
The woman in the video was saying we weren't an empire despite all the countries we occupy (of you asked me, one is too many). So I was asking at what point, then, do we become an empire?
So I was also in agreement with Bill Maher and Michael Moore—two guys who I usually can't stand listening to. They are spot on here.
Doesn't America have almost 1000 foreign bases in approximately 130 countries, and isn't this an empire? Isn't our govt killing innocents in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Iraq? Hasn't our govt fought undeclared and therefore unconstitutional wars ever since 1945? Aren't our leaders eroding our constitutional rights and due process every day in every way? Isn't our debt insurmountable? It seems the very worst terrorist IN THE WORLD is the US govt.
right-wingers baffle me because they understand the blowback theory, all they have to do is remember how they felt after 9/11 and then realise this is how those 19 murdering hijackers felt, they had grievances and none of them had to do with hating freedom, are these so called "conservatives" so stupid as to think the US was minding it's own business prior to 9/11 ? are they not aware of the DECADES long US intervention/interference in the middle east ? are they that ignorant of history ???!!!!

Uhh what do you call the FLYING TERMINATOR WARBOTS we have in Afghanistan mass murdering entire families?
I cant wait for these dumb FUCKS to finally build SkyNet only for it to turn against them and show them what war looks like in their own backyard.

OK. So if we have that many bases in that many countries, Mr. and Ms. Right-Winger, at what point are we an empire? Are you kidding?
P.S. This might be the first time I have been able to agree with Moore and Maher for 6+ minutes.
