  • dave pulled out some good stuff

    !!!!

  • He should do this again. lol

  • paul looks just like larry david

  • What a great clip, thanks for posting it! If you can find them, vol. 1 & 2 of the books Incredibly Strange Music is a must-have!(publisher was Re/Search Laboratories. The CD's of the same name are okay, not great)

  • I tried looking for these online. The only one I could find was the ethel mermen disco album

  • fuck you dave, ill rob your house cunt

  • may '92, thats when people were tossing entire collections in the trash for crappy cd's, any regrets?

  • @GameICY makes me want to cry

  • keep those fingers dusty Dave!!!

  • I'm almost certain that the disco version of No Business Like Show Business was on a baseball blooper/great plays video from the 80s called the "Unofficial Baseball Handbook." It was played during the mascot montage.

  • @waltalan10 Thank you. Because of you, I now know the least interesting piece of trivia in existence.

  • welp, stereo works.

  • Ya ever notice how Letterman never shows any respect for whatever CD, record, or book that he holds up to the camera. Strange. I think he has some anger issues. It a passive aggressive behavior meant to imbarass his guest, or a power thing like having his chair higher than theirs. Asshole.

  • Wowo! Now Vinyl is back in style.

  • I want that taxi cab joint!

  • that stereo on the stereo test record sounds like "Holophonics" look it up on wikipedia

it sounds coming from extreme left, and extreme right. also...check out the snuggies commercial in stereo

  • it almost seems like dave's collection of vinyl is what stoners would love to have...

  • amazing how at 1:54 the stereo seperation still comes through after being recorded from TV and uploaded to the internet after all these years. I believe I heard this piece as a sample on a "Man or Astroman" album.

  • nice call on the Man or Astroman.

  • That sound effects LP would be perfect to freak people out with!

  • "sound of insects" was sampled by "money" mark nishita on a 10"ep that i got. the cricket song, i think it's called. you can tell the outside temp. by counting the ratio of chirps per minute. cool.

  • left and right channel from the stereo test was sweeet!

  • I use two copies of that record when DJing... it's got some great beeps and boops for scratching

  • Plato vs. "The Fly"! Hilarous!!!

  • wasn't Socrates the "fly?" maybe i'm too limited to understand, but i think dave is jokingly equating Socrates' words to the sound of a fly -- as people would compare socrates to a fly in his days.

  • 1992 ... LOL

  • "Hal, lemme hear that fly again!"

  • If you read Brett Milano's book 'Vinyl Junkies' he interviews the guy that use to go out and look for records just for these bits on Letterman.

  • lmao at 0:49! XD

  • Fantastic, thanks for uploading! Tree tree was hilarious

  • Yes, he was really great.

  • I have half o' these records!

  • wow, dave used to be funny

  • @absinthe12120 Yes.... You are so right!

  • old letterman clips rule!!! so do scary records you find at the back of the stack!!!

  • Cool segment. Thanks for posting!!

  • Man that was awkward.

  • ha ha! Jack Dangers aka Meat Beat Manifesto sampled that insect album on Subliminal Sandwich.

  • Not a match the board goes back.

  • yeah baby

  • I want that Mr Rogers LP! I also love that insect record!
