  • 1) As far is I know, you can not "learn" the ryu, but only "practice" in groups.

Because the only person who teaches is the Soke himself. Worldwide.

And he lives in Tokio, teaching in a church...

My Sensei told me this on my first day, "we're only practicing, i don't teach!"....he said.

    2) Those Onigote are so horrible to use, so stiff, so unflexible (when new) and so heavy.^

Itto Ryu is much more fun, when you're Shidachi,...^^

  • Sasamori Soke and Hirata Sensei inspired the group in San Diego!

  • @Johnjohnsm If your interested in writing an article about it, mail to taylor@kendo-world(dot)com for more information.

  • those kote are frkn huge!

  • so clean and simple, I've never seen any ma like this before.

  • Kawakami sensei kicks big time ass! I saw him perform and hold a lesson, he is out of this world

  • as far as i know, real kobudo martial arts styles r only taught in japan

  • @sexvamp666 trust me I practice this in Italy and Sasamori Takemi sama is going to hold a stage on June the second 2011

  • @sexvamp666 It depends on the school. Some have chapters all over the world, others stay close to home.

  • So cool.

  • anjodaza to the maximum level, I'm really impressed watching this and I can't wait for next saturday when I have the occasion to try this

  • Who's the other one? Irata sensei?

  • @ATNicolini

Sasamori Souke, Kawakami sensei (with glasses) Hirata sensei and Yabuki sensei (the highest one)

  • anyone know where i can learn this style of itto ryu in California?

  • @jung567 I think it's impossible to learn this style in California. the only person who can teach Ono Ha Itto Ryu is Soke, Sasamori Takemi (the man with white hair in this video) , and he teaches just in Tokyo ( at the Reigakudo ), he comes to Italy or Germany just one time in a year.

  • @ireneaikidokeiko darn...

  • @ireneaikidokeiko

he goes to USA too, but I don't know where..

  • @jung567 Sasamori Soke and Hirata Sensei visited San Diego this past weekend.

  • @zompus EEEEEHHHH!! NOOOOOOOO!! DXXX

  • I just started taking this style, thanks much for posting this one!

  • @blugularis where did u take it?

  • lol, the padded gloves look like hellboy's big hand! Thanks for uploading this video- I never get tired of seeing koryu kenjutsu styles!

  • when i compare this branch of itto ryu to mizoguchi... it seems... that mizoguchi is really smooth (really noticeable), while ono is how should i say this... thorough? It's my opinion sorry...

  • wat other kenjutsus had most influence on kendo?

  • @jung567

In my personal opinion Yagyu Shinkage Ryu, Shinto Ryu, and Niten Ichi Ryu.

  • @AsturiasGuitar
