For those who want to get it earlier: I got my tsuchinoko in Bolshaya past south. Just make your way through the two guards guarding the fence and kill the guard walking around the hill above them.

I placed the mouse trap from the Bolshaya base beside the guard. Ran in and out a few times until I heard the item sound. Since there are no other animals there it's a 100% chance catch :]

@CowboyH3r0 when u first see him when u go into the area where u see volgin and u see the guard pushing sokolove around, as soon as u start playing again pull out ur svd and aim at the end, i shot him twice but i think it only takes one to kill him. it unlocks an achievment and u dont have to fight him, but be careful he explodes and his wheelchair hits u lol. but as fo actually beating him, it took me a while, use ur thermals to help find him. its tricky but u can do it. also there

For those who are losing hope on obtaining this in HD collection this is what I did. After spending like twenty minutes catching frogs I went up to the ledge where you dropped in from the warehouse, I planted my last three traps right on near the ledge came back out and two frogs one Chinko!

I just tried this on MGS HD Edition for PS3. Worked but I had to do it twice. The first time I only caught three fours and one snake but no Tsuchinoko. So I picked up all of the mousetraps by crawling over them and placed them in the same spots again. Worked on the second time. Keep it in and remember to capture it again after meeting up with EVA behind the water fall near the end of the game.

@elmano4, no you have to find and shoot all the little green toy frogs throughout the game I think thare are sixty four hidden in the weirdest of places, note when you shoot them they make a weird noise a few times, it sounds like 'wuggle wuggle' but sort of high pitched.

@NYYankees4240 I did the no kill/alert method on my 1st playthrough on MGS HD Collection. Took me just under 4 hours to complete the whole game. No alerts, no kills, no life medicine used and I still didn't get it. I also tried getting all 64 Kerotans and I still didn't get the Infinite Ammo face paint. I just tried this 5 mousetraps method a few minutes ago and I caught the Tsuchinoko. However, I had to do it twice. Hopefully it'll give me the infinite ammo face paint at the end of the game

@elmano04 there's an alternative way for it, you have to complete the game without getting in "Alert" mode, Evasion and Caution is alright but not "Alert"

Mousetraps are usually in food storages the brown shacks, or in random places lol
