  • BY Tania not dambers anyway both rezillos and revillos are execallant pity on the beach isnt on the youtube :)

  • estos grupos son buenos y muy poco conocidos en latinoamerica.

  • GENIUS you gotta love Fay Fife, shame the vid for Hungry For Love isn't about

  • @bzzzzap,dig the joe meek ref.@coffee45 u clueless twat

  • ...Is this supposed to be a parody of Rock Lobster?

  • Rezillos, Revillos....its all one song, fab upload!!

  • not even the Revillos beat the REZILLOS!

  • WTF?

  • This is feckin awful and I love the band

  • I see now why The Circle Jerks, The Dead Kennedys, and The Bad Brains played the music they did.

  • Joe Meek smiles in his grave!

  • very cool :) should have played this in diving at egypts coral lol

  • CLASS

  • much better than anything the b52s did. I revillos have more cred since they were the rezillos too. plus that guys voice from the b52s is annoying

  • This is really the most WEARD song I've ever heard in my whole life... XD

Its really brilliant, I've been listening this song whole day now :P

  • Split Enz, B52's, & THE SCAVENGERS combined!

  • I wonder if she smelled like fish after that...

  • is this the start of aqua and barbie girl sic sic sic

  • B52's on drugs, love it!!!!

  • @fuzzyboy1964 before the b52's

  • @adda89 Both bands formed around 1976 but as I wrote earlier The Rezillos released singles before the 52s .

  • LoL, how dated

  • @spbats

Yeah, that's kind of what they were going for.

  • Does sound like Blondie!...

  • I should have eaten a bag of shrooms before I watched this

  • I was a fashion student way back then, but i didn't make their costumes. I did share a flat with the revillos for a bit, before they went to the states.

  • wow...I did not know the B-52's were such a rip off of this band.

  • I wanna go where the kids are hip to silver scuba suits.

  • How beautiful is Fay???

    Damn.

  • Who is the bass player in this video? William Mysterious from the Rezillos came back to help out for a while when The Revillos were changing personnel around this time. Is it Mysterious?

  • I think Its Vince, the timing is about right.

    Scott

  • No sign of Kid Krupa in the video. Wasn't he recruited before Vince? I think the line up I saw at the Edinburgh Astoria (May 1980) included Krupa and Mysterious. Around the time Scuba Scuba was released.

  • Hi, reading THE RHYTHM METHOD by Nicky Forbes at the moment and it says that Kid was about the time of Vince, if not slightly before, so who knows. I was at the Astoria, no longer there, in Edinburgh, have some great b/w photos, i sent them down to Nicky not that long ago.

  • The Rhythm Method is a great read. I bought it about 6 months ago and have started dipping in and out of it for a second time.

The tale about how the Scuba Scuba demo / cassette ending up being used for the single release is one of my favourites - Always wondered why Fay sounded like she was on helium. The re-recorded version from 1994 does the song more justice.

    Cheers

    Paul

  • Nicky used to take me to alot of the gigs and i became very friendly with them all, i loved it it was great fun and met some top people, took me to London and Nicky used to teach me drums, the band had rehersals and auditions in my Mum and Dads hotel in Leamington terrace. Ahhhh those were the days. Brilliant, lovely people who were a joy to be with.

    Scott

  • yep it is dennis (aka Vince) i know this cos i knew him way back then

  • Are you Nancy from Edinburgh?

  • yes, who are you?

  • Hi im Scott, my Mum and Dad used to have the Glenelg Hotel in Leamington Terrace, did you not used to make the clothes? My friend Bev Lyon used to make them as well. Also i used to wash their car, hahaha!

  • I used to go to the Glenelg Hotel in 1967 as we stayed in Gilmore Place and knew your Dad. What year did it shut down?

  • Hi, my mun and dad sold it in 1987 and i think it shut down in the 90's, but dont really know, my dad was Bob. Who are you?

  • i want to go in uk and marry that girl!!!

  • I Love these Gurls/ guys, I've had these on tape for 25 years!

  • the b-52's were around before the rezillos, but still great memories

  • @klingonbarbie But The Rezillos released a few singles before the B-52s did .

  • if anyone can send the music file of this to me, would be great.

    PM me.

    Thanks :)

  • LOL! Now I really wish I could swim! This song great!

  • great as ever

  • Those are big goldfish.

  • blackpool is totally risght.. in fact B52 wouldn´t even exist if wasn´t for them!!!

  • I respectfully suggest that you've got that totally backwards. Although both bands formed around 1976, I believe that the Revillos/Rezillos took major cues from the 52's.

  • Can anyone find anythgin for the acutal song "Rev Up"?

  • now i know were strawberry switchblade got their ideas from!

  • always loved this song so it's great to come across it!

  • can anyone find or post a video of monster man?

  • They were simply the British B52s - totally ace! They should have been more successful than they were and deserve to be talked about more!!

  • Except that they came before the B52s.

p.s. Hopefully Scotland won't be "British" for too much longer.

  • If Scotland decides to go for independence, good on them. But we in the Northumbrian Independence Resistance Movement want Edinburgh back - after all it was the ancient kingdom of Northumbria at one time, founded by our marvellous King Edwin.

  • Edinburgh was founded before King Edwin was ever alive. The name is of Welsh origin. The "Edwinesburgh" myth was invented by Simeon of Durham centuries after.

No one in Edinburgh considers themselves "Northumbrian". They consider themselves Scots though.

  • @blackpoolrok Yes you got that right!! I thought the same about that of the Revillos or Rezillols being the UK B52s only that the B52's has that early 60s the Ventures sound and the Revillos are more merseybeat like the groups from Liverpool. Their music also sound like they can be a soundtrack to Gerry Anderson's marionation puppet series Thunderbirds Are Go, Fireball XL5, Stingray and so on.

  • I haven't heard this for since about 1980 and I nearly wept with joy when I found it here! Fucking brilliant. It has everything you could possibly want: colour, humour and a great tune! Just brilliant.

  • VIVA LOS REVILLOS !!!!!!

  • The Revillos live Shows around 1980 / 1981 were just as energetic and colourful as on this video. They had great Stage sets and Lighting and their outfits and instruments were total Psychedelic Beatnik madness........I was always waiting for Rocky their Drummer to break a leg so I could try and worm my way in as their new Drummer...I'm still waiting dammit!!!

  • Nice!

  • That early 60s influence was big in the late 70s/early 80s. This could have come right off the soundtrack of a 60s American beach movie.

  • I joined their fan club...I was member #100 top that....

  • i love it!

  • Broken download link is now fixed!

  • me encanta Fay Fife......era lo maximo....

    Scuba Scuba

  • scuba scuba jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ovce naseljene u budućnosti

  • They remind of the B-52's.

  • This is one of the better dance tunes from the New Wave era. Great song and cool video!

  • i used to go and see the revillos play around this time, the shows were always fantatsic.. this clip is a real treat ! thanks for posting it

  • re groso......sintetico de una epoca que no se en que pensaban....espero algun dia poder vivir debajo del mar

  • God I could watch her dance all day!

  • foxy fay fife forever

  • very twisting by the pool! it's like watching some 1960's American teen film. all you need is Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon with assorted beach bunnies and surf goofs! post-modern or what?

  • I LOVE the Revillos even more than the Rezillos. Can't believe there isn't any clips featuring Kid Krupa.[R.I.P.] John was the brilliant and glittering guitarist with the twang on the records and tours from Rev-Up onwards. A lovely genuine guy surrounded by genuinely lunatic amazingly wonderful people. Rev on brother!

  • your right about kid krupa -know one knows .but i do

  • It don't get any better than this..thanks..Xlent

  • Their as mad as a cat in a goldfish bowl .brilliant!!!

  • eugene reminds me of tek jansen from the colbert reort for some reason

  • revillos are the best thing everrrrrrrr

  • The Rezillos should include some Revillos songs in their live set!

  • you are SO RIGHT BABY!!!

  • Superb - haven't seen this before either!

  • This is amazing! I've never heard this Rezillos song. So good!

  • I love how bands back in the day didnt take themselves so seriously i wanna hear more music like this not sad emo music

  • The costumes and music and even videos of old bands like this make me sad that we don't have music like this anymore.

  • Fan Scuba Tastic!! Have never seen the full version of this classic, thanx...SmartieBoy
