Jews For Jesus' site and on Wikipedia lists Jews For Jesus as a member of The Evangelical Council For Financial Accountability. This is an Evangelical Christian Organization of people who were born Jewish. Being Evangelical Christian and Jewish is contradictory. I would think if the Jewish messiah was Jesus that Jewish people would lead other Jews to The Messiah. The belief is that the Rapture is coming and the Jews will be Annihilated by Jesus' second coming is not a message of love.

This is very interesting, but incorrect. Don't you agree that this is a messianic prophecy? The Messiah is prophesied by the prophets as a Prophet, Priest and King. Psalm 110 is written by David as indicated the same way in all the other Psalms he wrote. It is clear that it is talking about the Messiah, that David's Lord would sit at the right hand of God. We know this Lord is not about Saul, because He was not a priest as indicated in verse 4. The only other Lord David knows is YHWH!

Also, the Torah divided King and Priest, they couldn't hold the same office (deut. 17:14-20, deut 18:1-8, 2Sam. 7:12-16, Lev 4:22-6) and a King could not perform the priests functions. Malki-Tzedek from Genesis was not a Cohen, not a descendant of Aaron. Another translation btw is "you are to serve forever as a rightous king" (malki-tzedek means not priest but rightous king).

It does make sense, in fact in many of the messianic prophecies that they had a specific current day relevence, but that doesn't take away from the body of prophecies and scriptures that make the case for the Messiah. When we look at the breadth of scriptures there is a specific message about who the Messiah would be, what He would do, where He would be born, when He would be born. Not easy for me to give a long reply since I have law school finals this week. But in a nutshell - I believe the Messiah will rebuild the Temple, regather the Jews, be a King from the line of David. Be careful when you dirty the name of YHWH by equating Allah with him. The prophet Jeremiah says His name shall be called The Lord Our Righteousness (see Jeremiah 23:5-6) and the prophet Isaiah says His name shall be called Immanuel and Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (see Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6).

If you read the old testament in Genesis, God with two of his angels possibly Arcangel Michael and Arcangel Gabriel ,all 3 of them in the flesh, approached Abraham and Abraham immediately recognized God's voice. God and his angels even ate with Abraham. God also re-appeared in the flesh to see Issac in the spring. God also re appeared again as the messiah 2000 years after that. Today, we find many people who are Jews that don't even PRACTICE Judaism! Are they not Jews anymore? Being Jewish by descent and believing in Christ is not an antithesis. Jews For Jesus' site and on Wikipedia lists Jews For Jesus as a member of The Evangelical Council For Financial Accountability. This is an Evangelical Christian Organization of people who were born Jewish. Being Evangelical Christian and Jewish is contradictory. I would think if the Jewish messiah was Jesus that Jewish people would lead other Jews to The Messiah. The belief is that the Rapture is coming and the Jews will be Annihilated by Jesus' second coming is not a message of love.

Read the begining part of the new testament of the bible. It explains the branches of Abraham, Issac and David which god used to come as the messiah clearly. Jesus the messiah, Virgin Mary his mother, Joseph his foster father, elder sister of Mary, Elisabeth and her son John the Baptist were the very last of the David branch. Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6 speaks about the birth of the Messiah. Immanuel from Isaiah 7:14 means "God with us", it's not only a symbolic name it's also a prophetic name. My life was changed for ever when I was 18 and confessed my sins to Jesus, a Jew, and asked him to into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I have heard of countless people pass out tracts about Jesus, but never have I received one for becoming a Jew. Why do they only get upset and pass out tracts, like in one of the clips, when Jews for Jesus comes about? There must be something afoot. Guilt, perhaps?

You are dead wrong matisforever. There is only one God, however he expresses himself to us in three persons: Father, Son (JESUS) and Ruach HaKodesh. Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6 speaks about the birth of the Messiah. Immanuel from Isaiah 7:14 means "God with us", God came to earth from heaven and manifested and incarnated in the flesh in the person of Yeshua the Messiah. After all he's God, so he can do anything.

isaiah 7:14 refers to a young woman not a virgin. another point is that this false messiah you believe in didn't fulfill any of the prophecies g-d has promised to us. you know the dead shall rise, it is the biggest belief in judiasm that there is one g-d and when g-d sends the Moshiach, which will be any day now, the dead shall be risen. your jesus didnt do that therefore he cant be the Moshiach. i could continue with all the other prophecies but there are to many this man didnt fulfill.

matisforever=Read Daniel 9:24-27, it speaks about the appointed time of the Messiah. He had to come, be crucified and resurrect on the third day before the destruction of the Second Temple. In 70 A.D. many years after Yeshua was crucified, resurrected and ascended, the Roman Army under General Titus smashed Jerusalem and destroyed the Second Temple in fulfillment of that prophecy. You have a choice, either Yeshua (JESUS) is the Messiah or there is none.

I am jewish and since i realised that yeshua is the messiah and prayed to him, my life has gone from crap to wonderful, the first miracle that happened i thought this is just coincidence but after the sixth miracle in 3 months i know for sure that jesus is with me and he has blessed me, say what you want, i never believed in anything before but now i have no doubt whatsoever that jesus is the messiah.

Jews for Jesus is not Christianity, it is a Messianic Jewish organization. It is also a Messianic Jewish movement proclaiming that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah foretold by the prophets in the Hebrew scriptures from the Torah.

This is very interesting, but incorrect. Don't you agree that this is a messianic prophecy? The Messiah is prophesied by the prophets as a Prophet, Priest and King. Psalm 110 is written by David as indicated the same way in all the other Psalms he wrote. It is clear that it is talking about the Messiah, that David's Lord would sit at the right hand of God. We know this Lord is not about Saul, because He was not a priest as indicated in verse 4. The only other Lord David knows is YHWH!

well that doesn't explain the fact that the word "Adoni" is never used as a term for God in the Bible. Also, the Torah divided King and Priest, they couldn't hold the same office (deut. 17:14-20, deut 18:1-8, 2Sam. 7:12-16, Lev 4:22-6) and a King could not perform the priests functions. Malki-Tzedek from Genesis was not a Cohen, not a descendant of Aaron. Another translation btw is "you are to serve forever as a rightous king" (malki-tzedek means not priest but rightous king).

I think you know more than you are telling us and are just trying to confuse the readers with your knowledge of Hebrew. If you know the original translations of these scriptures, why did you interpret them incorrectly? If you know that Psalm of David is written every time HE writes the Psalm, why did you say otherwise? If you knew that Saul was not a priest, why did you say this is referring to him? The translation is "a priest to the age, According to the order of Melchizedek." Read Zech 6:13.

I'm not sure I get what you're saying. I said the psalm is a psalm of david, it is also a psalm regarding David (there are other psalms, like 47, which for ex. is of Korach, not David). I also don't see where I said Saul was a priest, I said the psalm may refer to Saul since he is a Benjaminite (Ester 2:5 calls a Benjaminite 'ymini') which is also a word used in this psalm.

Yes ur quite right, i stand corrected [well i could split hairs and say that adoni is not same as adonai..but i wont- thatd be too much hair splitting]. Adon, is not a proper name for God (as YHWH or El are), it can mean 'lord' 'master' etc. and is most often used to address persons, but your interpretation is feasible - however looking at the entire thing in context and comparing it to other parts of the Torah, it is rather unlikely.

Detrmining whether certain passages were historically thought of as Messianic or whether they were re-interpreted so as to not be so in the Rabbinic period is tricky since we don't have too many commentaries from that period and both Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism began at roughly the same time. On the anti-messianic argument, I would note Matthew 28:17 where the Apostles at first doubted that Jesus was resurrected (pointing to there not being an expectation of this among the Jews) and that..

I see your point. It does make sense, in fact in many of the messianic prophecies that they had a specific current day relevence, but that doesn't take away from the body of prophecies and scriptures that make the case for the Messiah. When we look at the breadth of scriptures there is a specific message about who the Messiah would be, what He would do, where He would be born, when He would be born. I am interested to know why if these passages make such a case, who you think the Messiah is?

Not easy for me to give a long reply since I have law school finals this week. But in a nutshell - I believe the Messiah will rebuild the Temple, regather the Jews, be a King from the line of David. My problem and Jews' you see, is not Jesus' Messiahship (if thats a word) rather its Jesus as God, Trinity, Original Sin, etc. that is my main problem. I think the Ebionites for example who thought Jesus was the Messiah but not God were still theologically Jewish.

This is a well presented point. The problem is this: how is the Messiah supposed to do the things you mentioned if there is no peace? How is that peace supposed to come? Haven't we been trying? Is God going to force us to kiss and make up when we don't mean it? Jesus presented a solution according to the prophesies of the messiah? It's fine to dismiss if He wasn't the Messiah and God, but when you add up all the requirements, no one else stepped up at the right time and place. Who else is there?

Well the Messiah, supposedly, will bring Peace - restoring the Kingdom of Israel. Isn't this the vision (generally) Christians have of the second coming? Only difference is that the traditional Jewish belief is that all this will be accomplished the first time. Let me stress again however, the problem isn't so much the claim of Jesus as Messiah, the problem for me and for Jews is the claims of Divinity, Trinity, and the idea of Original Sin (if no original sin, Jesus' death isnt needed)

The way I was taught. The Temple will be rebuilt, then the messiah will come. Im not sure about when exectly peace will come but I will say that jesus existed in a time of hellish war, Jews don't believe G-d can be condensed into a person, or a can of soup. Also, in what way did he "step up to the plate"? Looking around the world, I see not one accomplishment he made that the world (you and I) can see. The messiah will change the ENTIRE world!!!

the god sees everything, the god is generous, and the god is kind so i thing there is only one god and it doesnt matter if we call him: God, Alah or Yehova. We all should be good at each other and believe in our faith even if a jew decides to believe in Jesus. Be careful when you dirty the name of YHWH by equating Allah with him. The nature of the God of the Tanakh and the nature of "Allah" are in direct opposition in their mercy, vengeance, and how their followers are to live their lives for their deity's honor. YHWH is the God of life and Allah is the God of death.

God cannot become a man, for this would mean that He changed and that He was limited. God does not change nor is he limited (Malachi 3:6; Psalm 102:26-27,2 Chronicles 6:18). The Gospel of Luke (2:52) says that Jesus grew in wisdom and favor in the eyes of God and man- can the eternal God, who created all things, who know all things "grow in wisdom" when he IS wisdom?
