  • Cute video Qualls.

  • Any of you who are wanting to enlist into the Marines, make sure you read through the Future Jarheads Website. The link is on my profile page. It is filled with info that you should know before enlisting and shipping.

  • how old washe when he went in

  • hey i was in his platoon...on his ryte at 1:11....memories

    Cpl Quirarte

  • 1:11 hispanic guy lol

  • God Bless Reubon and all of his loved ones. What a selfless, brave young man. How can one ever possibly repay or truly express ones gratitude and respect.

    Peace Reubon. Brett.

  • Hollywood!!

  • @sgtgs1 its funny how Parris Island gets more spotlight then San Diego ever had, just saying and to retort your comment, "Parris Hilton, Paradise Island" (you get the picture) sorry but I got to stand up for my MCRD SD brothers

  • Comment removed

  • lol, he looks so different without that beard

  • @MrIBLEEDCRIMSON Yeah, Reuben is part of a recon reserve unit. They are pretty hard core.

  • EAAAASST COASST

  • and a silver bullet vet reason number one not to passout on a hump or a run

  • pog reservist haha how did he get a video of his personal expeirence or was this on family day or something

  • cover to the front, align to the right, everyone move, except for the guide. hahaha

  • why are they called holy wood Marines when l.a is like 100 miles away from san diego?

  • @matthew562 'Cause there are alot of stupid, East coast trained grunts who think they're better than everyone else... lol.

  • @3fsh lol we are

  • @3fsh i should resent that, but it was explained to me that both places have it rough, paris island is just viewed as harder, the humidity makes the climate harsh, whether in summer or winter, the sandfleas are also a killer part of the training (i dare you to scratch a bite). San Diego has rough terrain, as in mountains, hills, rocks, etc, while paris island is full of sand. kinda makes paris island seem harder right?

  • @bludrgn5 Both places are hard in different ways. I can't say that one is "harder" than another. Pariris Island doesn't have the grueling climb at the end of the crucible (the reaper). East coast grunts just have this attitude towards San Diego boot camp that pisses me off. I can understand a little good natured "oh, we're better than you" but I've heard some pretty harsh insults and it's just unecessary.

  • @3fsh its just viewed that way, then again, if your listening to what grunts have to say, then your listening to information that has not been thought through. im an 0231, i dont listen to grunts in my company, its not their job to think, its mine. but im inclined to agree with you and keep it that both training bases have an incredible hard training routine

  • Man f off that dudes one of our brothers.

  • sweet video. im going to San Diego in november. XD

  • second day! lol that sucks, i bet a lot of recruits pass out during the crucible, but i guess i'll be finding out in september

  • good vid but gay ass song dude you should of put a Marine Cadence

  • @FIDsmoggydrizzle Everyone does Marine cadences... they get obnoxious after a minute or two.

  • @FIDsmoggydrizzle Breaking benjamin is fucking boss what ware you talking about?

  • nice halo soundtrack LOL great video

  • oh god he passed out? he got the silver bullet

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! The silver bullet! I had forgotten about that. One of my platoon members got that on the second day of training. Ha! I made sure to hydrate ALL THE TIME after I saw that. Good times. Semper Fi brother.

  • im going to join the marines, because i want to serve the country. I don't care if i am not american. I want to experience those pain in the training good luck to me 2011.

  • ill join 2010 bro good luck for u like u say i want to serve my country Semper Fucking Fidelis

  • mcrd sandiego

  • what center was he trained at?

  • That's MCRD San Diego.

  • I have some questions about that MOS..do you have an email for Reuben?

    i have alot of questions..

hes an MOS 0231 - - Intelligence Specialist right?

  • Is there a reason why the guys in the third and fourth row from the right at 2:14 are still marching while the rest of the platoon stood at attention?

  • They're doing something called "cover and alignment". They have to make sure they're perfectly lined up with both the person in front of them, and the person next to them.

  • just wondering but how old was he when he enlisted? he looks a little older at MEPs swearing in than he did as a recruit haha. at meps he looks like 33 but as a recruit he looks like 24

  • facial hair makes you look older LOL

  • He enlisted when he was 19 and turned 20 while he was at boot camp.

  • cover and alignment, AY SIR OORAH MARINE CORPS !!!! (double clap) KILL !! !! !!

  • owsowme

  • Comment removed

  • Ooorah! Semper Fi new Marine. My son graduated in April (Mike Company, 3269). What is your MOS?

  • Reuben's MOS is 0231. What is your son's MOS? :)

  • 0121 - Personnel. He is at Camp Johnson right now and will be home stationed in Yuma next month. Great video!

  • Thank you! :D

  • kill devil dog, remember the times

  • very nice vid...

  • You can see his sigh of relief at the end of the video. It's around 3:20 where you can just see him take one deep breath after putting his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor onto his hat.

  • Just courious how old was he when he joined?

  • 19 :) He turned 20 at boot camp.

  • Semper Fi Marine!

  • lol. the ceremony room....i remember that. Our ceremony officer was a Marine. Everyone in the room was entering the Marines except one army guy. by the end of the ceremony he said that he should've joined the Marines.

  • OOH RAH!!!

I Ship July 20th to MCRD SD

    Coming from RSS North Phoenix

  • FIERCE!

My hubby was in the Coast Guard for 5 years, then exited. This brings back memories - we lived all over, 4 states & first 2 kids in 6 years. Marriage "stress test." LOL!

  • Congrats man. I ship to MCRD San Diego in October - cannot wait to fight for the title of Marine.

  • Semper Fi Devil Dog. usmc vet. 88-91

  • @bigfellabuzz fUCK U MILITARY WEAKLING FUCKS

I'm leaving for MCRD San Diego in August, been training with my recruiters and I can't wait.

  • Congrats! :)

  • i just swore in two days ago marine active duty 0311 cant freakin wait an it dosent matter if your a reservist your a marine an theres one thing my grandad taught me once a marine always a marine ooooooorahy an simper fi

  • Ooh-Rah Brother, Semper Fi Great Job, another great warrior to defend our freedoms and preserve our country, have faith in what you do and always look forward to great opportunities.

  • "nasty comment"

  • LOL

  • haha

  • that was amazing!!! outstanding video!!! OOO RAH

  • Paratroopers are not SF, not even close, and Cav Scouts aren't either. Cav Scouts are no different than regualr Army Infantry except that they focus a little more on recon type stuff and spend more time in vehicles than an regular Army Infantryman.

    Marine Infantry isn't SF either.

Marines are just as badass. I got nothing but respect for them. We all do our job in the end.

    Pvt. Oregon Army National Guard

    2-162 Infantry

  • lol Cav Scout? I'm sure you'd hate for me to call you a 19K.

  • What you're doing is trying to compare oranges and apples. Each division of the military has distinct and unique purposes and strengths. The Marines have Force Recon, the Army has Rangers, and the Navy has Seals. Trying to say that any one of these is "better" than another is ridiculous. I'm partial towards Marines of course, but that's just a matter of pride because my fiancé is one. :P

  • I thought boot camp made you skinnier :P puahaha j/k ma'am chipping out on Jan 26th 13 more days Hoorah! MCRD San Diego Hollyhood marine!

  • Good luck! Oh, and I wouldn't say "Hoorah", 'cause that's an Army thing, and they'd probably skin you alive if they heard you say that. It's "Oorah!" :P

  • Eh, It's all a matter of pronunciation :D

  • Haha yeah, because even though it's "hoorah" in the army, sounds like everyone is saying "hooah". Pretty much like the R is missing :P

  • Haha back form boot camp! and I was in Alpha too! lol

  • Oorah! Alpha is the best. :P

  • neither one of you are even in the military i bet.

  • I am sure they can, But Marines Can Also and the funny thing is you are comparing a infantry to a Special Forces person, and the Marine Holds his Ground!!! OOORAH SEMPER FI

and to all you other Branches of the Military God Bless!!!

  • good luck soldier marine !!!

i'm soldier it's infantryman of brazilian air force . it's maguinific...

  • Wow good for him, I go to MCRD SD in about 6 days :) Can't wait!

  • a414669 that is so true, But hey you'll lose a girl you know you can always get a new one it's a hard reality....

  • oorah joing usmc rite outa highschool

  • OH, I'm sorry, it's looks like the W0-1 pin. Thanks.

  • He's a W0-1-Warrant Officer 1

  • The ribbon on his uniform is the National Defense Service Medal (for joining during a time of war). He is an enlisted Lance Corporal, not an officer.

  • was he in bravo company?

  • Alpha, actually. :)

  • i knew he was 1st Battalion from the red shirts the DI's were wearing. but one of those DI's looked very similar to mine. then again they all look alike lol

  • Well...he WAS a Pvt...now...a Lcpl no?

  • He graduated as a contract PFC. Now he's a LCPL. :) He was promoted at one of his recent drills.

  • Oh god he's a reservist? He will start hating his life in about 2 years, maybe less. Tell him to go active...this is coming from a former marine grunt reservist

  • He's already been in for 2 years. Yeah, it's hard, but he doesn't hate it so far. :) Why did you hate it so much?

  • If you decided to be in military you'll expect things like that..

  • why does the reservist suck??

  • He doesn't.

  • why is being a reservist so bad?

Im in the DEP program now and im going to do reserves. and input would be nice.

  • nothing wrong with it just know that you'll get shit for it all through boot and possibly soi. just move fast and sound off and don't do anything stupid and you won't catch any real flak from your drill instructors about it. you'll still get slayed but that's what every recruit is in for.

  • o alright ill keep that in mind.

  • The reserves is NOT "bad". You'll probably get made fun of by other Marines and called a "weekend warrior". They also tend to screw up your paycheck when you finish training and go to once a month drills. But, the bright side is that you get awesome training, decent pay, and the ability to live a somewhat normal life rather than being stuck at a base somewhere.

  • that kind of the way i see it living a somewhat normal life up until im really needed.

  • you got that right im in the core!

  • No your not, it's spelled Corps not core...

  • I dont know him but im sure PROUD of him! OORAH

  • he looks real differfent

  • he needs to do some ab exercises and learn to march he sucked at it

  • He was in the hospital at Camp Pendleton for a week on double rations and then on light duty for a week at MCRD... that's why he still has a little bit of a stomach, otherwise it would have been gone. As for the marching, his whole platoon wasn't very good at it in general... lol.

  • why was he in the hospital?

  • He developed pneumonia during the crucible and passed out on the last hike up to the reaper with a temperature of 105 degrees F.

  • dude chill out he still completed boot camp with everyone else and that deserves some credit.

  • Oorah! My last name is Acosta, Semper Fi Acosta!

  • heck yes. :P

  • not to be a dick, but they're close order drill staring at roughly 1:45 was pretty heinous

  • His plt. was pretty well known for their crappy marching... lol.

  • yummy! lmfao

    i love me some marine

  • He looks hella old at first..maybe it was his hair style and his beard..but after bootcamp he looked very good and young..not saying he didnt look nice before..he just looked better!!..Oh and i plain on joining the marines too..Im studying for my ASVAB test right now..I want to be a Marine soo bad!! I love your video!!

  • Thank you! Yeah, when he shaved his goatee off for boot camp, he looked 10 years younger... once he graduated, he looked like he was 17... lol. Congrats on joining up! Start exercising now and get in shape! :D
