  • good job & you are HOT.

  • great job

  • i always wear gloves when using a craft knife :)

  • You remind me of my little sister. She knocks down walls and puts in windows with fearless abandon! You got that same can-do spirit. And thanks for showing me how - so I DON'T HAVE TO ASK HER!!!

  • @KurtSahib Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • Can u come do my Windows:-)

  • @363bigmike My Dad has a list a mile long!

  • Great instructions and explanations--- Thank you foe taking the time to share this.

  • @tiletrader1 You are welcome! Best wishes!

  • best window repl video i have seen! Thanks

  • Awesome video..Just bought an older stucco house with old metal crankout windows that won't open and appear to be built "into" the concrete...Wish you could see these....Friend said they would need to be cut out....Any advice ???

  • I feel more comfortable now going in to do it myself now. What order did you plumb the window? I saw you go to a side; I'm sure you leveled the bottom first then plumbed the sides right? Also, you gave a quarter inch space on each side, did you use shims or did the anchor screws & foam hold everything in place?

Thanks for all your wonderful insight!

  • @dynamx81 We did anchor screws and foam on most of the windows. We did use shims on the windows that had very rough sills. Plumbing the sides and applying even pressure with the concrete screws is very important.

    Thanks!

  • OMG. Would you marry me?

  • Inspiring. Show me stucco / window removal. You are helping me feel not so trapped and overwhelmed.

Geez. Got an estimate 700 ish. for sliders in stucco. and they leave the old frame. yuck.

Great job. Hey Stephen, buy the girl a utility knife! :- )

I agree with everyone else's positive comments.

  • @HappyBeeb Thanks, stucco works the same for remodeling, you can usually match the stucco texture with a little practice, but color matching is almost impossible unless you paint the wall after. Waterproofing with stucco is important.

  • Thanks for posting this useful and well made video.

  • OMG, best home improvement video I've seen yet and I've seen a million! Thanks for making your instructions so detailed and easy! @Pinsk3, way to be so sexist.

  • @kgrote1 Thanks! Next week, should be a new video on replacing receptacles - old house, lots of work!

  • @stephenepoe We did a GFCI/receptacle video, but haven't finished the editing. should be up in a week or so.

  • @kgrote1 Thanks!

  • GREAT JOB VERY HELPFUL

  • wow great job! I am surprised that a woman can do such a good job.

    Good instructions.

  • thumbs up if you thought it was Microsoft Windows replacement :-D

  • Possibly the best DIY video I’ve ever seen.

    Very detailed yet not dragging

  • Are you folks in Casa Grande? Looks like the older homes in Pinal county long the I-10. Thnks for the video. I have the same windows I will be removing to replace with vinyl ones.

  • Great Video, besides of a "Handy Girl" you are a Pretty Girl, btw I wasn't sure either do the job myself or planning to pay somebodey to do the job but now I feel more confident to do the job myself.

Thank you for your Great Video...

  • Lol at this vid

  • Did you ever do any sliding doors? or just windows? And did you custom order the windows to fit your dimensions perfectly? I have some odd shaped windows at home. THANKS!

  • @datprius

We actually ordered one at an odd size. It added about 15 % to the cost of the window. We haven't done sliding doors (we have French doors) - same procedures, but shimming the sides properly is critical for doors. Weatherstripping and flashing is also important if there is a possibility of rain entering in. Run silicone bead under threshold.

  • what type of caulk was it? Ive only used plumbing or painting caulk which was white.

  • @datprius

This is good stuff. Has grit in it so that when used to repair masonry it matches great. Look for it in the concrete section.

  • Of course it would be a fellow Wildcat that would show me how to do my windows!

  • Nice job!

  • I'm a pretty handy girl but I wasn't sure I was going to be able to tackle my window project. I feel much more confident now. Thanks for the video...You Rock!

  • Great video! I wish my wife was as handy with a drill and crowbar....Your bloody fantastic

  • thanks so much i will be installing windows to a three story apt bldg and will employ the steps in this video. thanks again :)

  • Finally an easy to understand video on window replacement.

  • I have never installed double glazing only single glazing I would imagine this would be similar to installation in the UK. A very well presented video.

  • Great Video...thanks!

  • Excellent video. Easy to follow, wonderful job for showing all the steps. Thank you so much.

  • FYI you should have placed shims on both the front and back side of the window where you put your screws in to make the surface between the window and the brick a solid continous piece. Not to say you will have a problem with this but it ensures that when you tighten the window down it won't pull the frame crooked.

  • you're a baller....outstanding

  • Nice thorough vid

  • AWESOME!!!took a girl to make it look easy...looked at all these guys doing it and it was actually more confusing and seemed like it took longer...thank you!!!

  • Great video! My wife and I may just try to tackle our own home window project thanks to your easy step by step instructions. Thanks!

  • Great video! You truly gave wonderful tips - low expand foam, backer rod. Thanks for posting.

  • Kaitlin, you are fantastic!

Your window video truly helped me with a replacement of my window. My project is in a brick house and you just made the whole job look as easy as pie.

Thanks again & keep up the good work!

  • You really should be wearing some leather gloves and safety glasses when doing this type of work.

  • Great video! I was looking to install 2 small windows in a brick house and I now feel confident to do so. Thank you!

  • Thanks for the vid. Definitely appreciate the step by step as that alot of the other ones don't offer.

    PS. Your daughter's hot :P

  • We had an estimate too. They estimated $6,700 to put in 9 windows. We bought all 9 windows for $1,700.

  • You made it look so easy.... New windows are on my list, but hiring them done is $400-$500 each. I think I have the confidence to try to do it myself. Thanks for the video.
