  • 4:41 If I were superman...

  • Just goes to show that being lazy doesn't prosper. Nothing wrong with a bit of hard labour!

  • ergentwie find ich es immer noch cool :P

  • this reminds me of The Phantom Tollbooth, when Milo pretended to be Chroma and "conduct the sunrise", and Chroma had to help him fix it...

  • watch this on acid

  • The sorcerer in this cartoons name was Yen-sid, which is just Disney spelled backwards!

  • played louder than law allows, it makes me wondering in another world

  • I had this movie on vhs....idk if i still do but damn i miss this movie :) real cool

  • @loneydolly Me too! Any idea if you can get it on DVD / Blu-ray?

  • @DJCRooK3D yeaa maybe if they're doing some special anniversary er something of the sort but other than that i haven't seen it yet :/ there might be a chance but i'm not totally sure

  • Awesome!

  • When I watched this movie, I never knew who the sorcerer's name was, I just simply thought that Disney never gave him a name, until I played Kingdom Hearts, I was told that he was named Yen Sid...which I never knew...

  • I wish I could teach my broom to do my housework, but I'd make sure to teach it to stop when its done.

  • @drewlaplanche Hire a cleaner!?

  • @DJCRooK3D True, but you dont have to pay a broom and it wont steal from you....

  • A famous part of the disney movie "fantasia" of 1940.

  • I miss the original Mickey Mouse!

  • this song actually scared me when i was younger... i always thought that i was going to get in trouble lol

  • Considering all the energy you put into getting this up here on YT, it sounds like a real 'labor of love'. We thank you & greatly appreciate it.

  • With the Blu-Ray version, Deems Taylor (aka Corey Burton) goes into broader detail with each piece of music that is being played, much like the original version.

  • matt flyzik is watching this ,matt thumbs up if u see this

  • my favorite part!!!! <3

  • Brings good old memories back.

  • saw this on the re-release in the theatres. just awesome and profoundly magical!

  • thank you very much for your time and effort to putting this up =D i appreciate it

  • Absolutely perfect. Nobody does it better than Disney.

  • I would love to have those brooms as bodyguards!

  • Am I the only one who was terrified of brooms after this?

  • what are the notes to this song! anyone out there who can find the flute notes! not the music but the notes! PLZ I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! IF U KNOW IT TELL ME! FLUTE.

  • @FurryFreak315 At IMSLP, Google "IMSLP Apprenti Sorcier"

  • Love it! :)

  • Paul Dukas didn't have many "hits" as a classical music composer... but then, after this he didn't need to did he! :)

  • This is CLASSIC

  • Bloody perfect.

  • My childhood, right there <3 :)

  • excuse the ignorance, but who is the composer?

  • @carreonhugo I believe it's Paul Dukas. (:

  • Nothing like a hurricane and a flooded basement to make one have this song stuck in their heads all day (not that the latter is a bad thing)

  • never mind that question. i figured it out.

  • does this song have a name, I can't seem to find it anywhere.

  • Comment removed

  • Did anyone every guess why Mickey couldnt control the broom?? Some say he "forgot the magic words" but what else do people think?

  • @Striker4552 he forgets the word that stops the broom continuing, It is a poem from a famous German man named Goethe, you can find it on google with the translation into english, its really good.#

  • My mother took me to see this movie when I was 6 years old and I can now appreciate how beautiful and precise the animation is. Is there anyone left willing to create this sort of frame by frame animation or is it now all about Pixar and CGI?

  • smoke a fat joint before watching this and its way more better :)

  • @omgitschelsea111 I cannot agree with you more my friend. Just makes my childhood memories alot better lol

  • Trippy

  • ♥♥ I love Mickey Mouse ♥♥

  • Good memories, enjoyed it too much as a child, and still enjoying it, hahaha.

  • Wow, thanks for allowing me to enjoy the efforts you put into this video!

  • Mickey RULES!!!

  • I am glad when I typed in Sorcerer's Apprentice this came up first and not the stupid movie ........ God I miss all of the classic Disney Movies .. not this new bullshit with the Jonas Sisters and Hannah Montana and all that other crap . and everyone using CGI? cmon ! you see how smooth this is !? and its FRAME BY FRAME ANIMATION HAND DRAWN AND PAINTED ! I wish I lived back in the day when Walt and the studio made this gold. R.I.P Walter Elias Disney . your movies keep you immortal

  • is that Yen Sid from Kingdom Hearts II for Playstation 2?

  • @zacefron4455 ....no...... thats Yen Side from Fantasia..

  • @zacefron4455 ....no...... thats Yen Side from Fantasia..

  • @zacefron4455 Yeah, but some characters are based on Disney characters, like Yen Sid

  • Finally, one without the music being half a step up.

  • I thought that was Hugh Douglas doing the introduction there.

  • @systemoperator Hugh Douglas did the narration for the 1982 theatrical release. The 1991 VHS (which is this video) features the original Deems Taylor introductions.

  • CLASSIC !!!

  • Oh, didn't know that.

  • Could you possibly upload every one of the Deems Taylor introductions from the Fantasia VHS?

  • how does Corey Burton Sound when HE says those lines?

  • @hemanshera777 He actually imitates his voice very well. I can barely tell the difference. Also, it's much higher quality definitely.

  • Thank you!!! :D

  • The true voice of Deems Taylor !

  • @ChernabogNosgoth that's the real deems taylor? i thought that this version uses the voice overdubs from the 80s release of the film, and that the dvd and blu-ray versions restored the deems taylor scences?

  • @firemonster996

nope this version is the one originally used from 1940

the ones you see on the other versions like on the dvd is Hugh Douglas

    easy misconception though

  • @MrDizzeyDisney personally, I actually prefer the Hugh Douglas introductions. They just sound more lively.

  • @firemonster996 I wish the Hugh Douglas dub would resurface one day. And to MrDizzeyDisney, the one you hear on the DVD is not Hugh Douglas but Corey Burton.

  • Thanks for putting this up!
