  • yes

  • Signs a follow up film to the original movie is a bad idea:

    1. The author of the actual novel the movie is based off of says no to the project.

    2. Several fans oppose it.

    3. An entire new screenplay has to be developed because there was no other books that accompanied the original idea.

  • make more watchmen, fu*$ the author, he gave it to the fans when he released it.

  • fuck it iwatchmen i ahve seen the movie and ihave paid the price any1 welse who thingks to watch it i dontj think y ou should. wait for the prequel.

  • Leave alone. We all have seen what happens when you whore out a good idea......SAW!!!

  • I understand the desire to make more of a good thing.. But when the Author of the original creation doesn't want to have anything to do with it, don't assume u can do a better job than he can.

  • ...wtf Lee...Akerman is a beautifl woman..

  • Yes! ... More .... MORE!!!

  • I want stories of the Minutemen, The original Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, Silhouette, Mothman, Dollar Bill, Hooded Justice, Captain Metropolis and The Comedian.

  • Smells like Dragon Ball GT to me.

  • watchmen was great! Rorschach was my favorite , so badasss

  • ok riddle me this. roar shack dead most of the team is broke up what arew they going to do

  • @zohan1412 go search up what a prequel means

  • @anniefanganything hey fag when your done masturbating to spider man come talk shit

  • @zohan1412

    prequel [ˈpriːkwəl]

    n

(Performing Arts) a film or book about an earlier stage of a story or a character's life, released because the later part of it has already been successful

    that was really unnecessary.

  • you know what i hated... the guy with the coolest mask dies at thed end..

  • Should they be left alone? Probably. But that being said, Alan Moore is kinda snobbish when it comes to his own work. But really Alan? Hating the movie adaptation of Watchmen because they used Dr. Manhattan's energy instead of "Giant-ass Aliens" that have nothing to do with the previous plot whatsoever? Don't get me wrong, I love Alan Moore's work and Watchmen, but I also respect what filmmakers did with material presented to them. Except for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. That movie sucked.

  • @SenecaHyde me too i think the filmakers stayed true to book and changed around some parts but ultimatley they did an amazing job

  • @gabby1049 Oh I completely agree with you, I loved the movie. I was just pointing out that there might be a reason why Alan Moore wants nothing to do with the movie adaptations. He is a great writer, but sometimes he can be a bit to snooty for his own ego.

  • @SenecaHyde

No way! A snooty and pretentious author!?

  • @throatpoka No way! A sarcastic comment!?

  • they should leave it alone

  • hell no if dc is going to try to make a collaboration of movies that end up coming together like umm i dont know the avengers(marvel) then maybe they should do a justice league movie.

  • What's wrong with Malin Akerman?? Jealous much?

  • leave watchmen alone

  • Wait your super power is beer or fear? I didn't catch that part

  • Watchmen was a FLOP. Not a blockbuster!!!

  • if you incriment your show in seasons i want to hear diddle at least 5 more times this season and no joe not in reputition

  • I think i accidentally flagged this by accident, sorry.

  • Major confliction

  • I'll probably check it out due to sheer curiosity, but I'm not liking the whole no Moore thing....

  • Leave it alone? I don't know I like the movie never read the original graphic novels/comic books but thinking about it says leave it alone.

Oh and Lee Newtons comment at 1:57 made me laugh in the she's cute kinda way. lol

  • I wanna see more watchmen! I also love seeing capitalism strive. As long as they do a good job like they did with the movie. Oh yeah Obama 2012!!!!!

  • i wud like another watchmen once they can hold onto the actors and giv a new relative spin to the franchise

  • 3? she wasn't even looking at his back! lies... this show lies!!! Everyone LIES(truth)!!!!!

  • Joe talks with his hands like a monkey

  • Alan Moore is such a pessimistic dick!!!

  • @bow2deathwish and @uberhikari how long have you guys been married?

  • i already proved i wasnt wrong. listen sense you cant shut the fuck up. ill tell you what. for 20$ ill let u call up my home phone and yell at me for 5 minutes.

you much then leave me alone.

  • lol and they did make sequels and a prequel to moby dick. although non of them were any good.

saying they didn't many any. doesn't say much about him or his idea on the matter. it just shows ignorance.

  • @bow2deathwish Surely you jest, right? First, you say "they" made sequels and a prequel to Moby Dick, which doesn't make any sense. Before Moby Dick was a film it was a book written by Herman Melville; and he did NOT write any prequels or sequels. So when Moore says there weren't many prequels or sequels to Moby Dick, he clearly was NOT referring to the films, he was referring to the book. And that would make sense given the fact that Moby Dick and The Watchman are both books.

  • @bow2deathwish Second, Moore never said there were NO prequels to Moby Dick, he said "There weren't that MANY prequels to Moby Dick," which indicates that he knew there were prequel(s). So calling him ignorant for not knowing that there were any prequels to Moby Dick is clearly off the mark.

Finally, Allen Moore ignorant? Lol. That's the problem with the internet: anybody can post anything and post it without forethought.

  • @uberhikari you mad bro? sequels and prequels are 2 different things. yes i misheard them say "many" my fault. but you then say he was talking about books not movies. if he was then that its self made him wrong to my knowledge of MD. there were tons of prequels and sequels to MD. why would he refer to a book when the subject was bout them making prequels to the last movie.

i could go on about the many ignorant things they quoted him on, but there isnt enough space to type.

  • @bow2deathwish "You mad bro?" What are you a child? How you managed to surmise that I was "mad" escapes me. But what is clear is that you made your comment without the requisite knowledge to sufficiently understand what was going on, in other words you're the ignorant one. You ask "why would he [Moore] refer to a book when the subject was bout (sic) them making prequels to the last movie"? Because DC is making a prequel comic book series not a movie.

  • @uberhikari dude i just dont give a shit. you obviously are only trying to argue. i already proved my point.

if it will shut u up ill just say u win. so i dont have to keep getting emailed with ur dumb ass commenting on my post.

  • @bow2deathwish Just an hour ago you claimed I was the one getting mad and now, after I prove you wrong, you're the one getting mad. In your last point you were all high and mighty, claiming that you would admit when you were wrong. And now? You obviously didn't know what you were talking about. I quoted you directly, and you said "the subject was bout (sic) them making prequels to the last movie." When in reality the subject was about DC making a prequel comic book series.

  • @uberhikari ty for proving my point. now please just shut the fuck up. i dont fucking care.

you are a dumb ass. no matter how many times i prove you wrong you keep posting dumb ass comments. you are wrong get the fuck over it.

  • @bow2deathwish Moby Dick was a novel written by Herman Melville, the same author who wrote Billy Budd btw, he NEVER WROTE ANY PREQUELS OR SEQUELS TO MOBY DICK. Again, you claimed Moore was talking about movies but he wasn't; he was referring to the book. And, again, this is evidenced by the fact that DC is making a prequel COMIC BOOK series, not a prequel movie.

  • @uberhikari omg you are so fucking stupid. yes he was talking about movies. if he was talking about books then my original statement only makes that more accurate. he said they didnt make money. if he was talking about books. they didnt make any. if he was talking about movies they made a ton. either way he was wrong. and you are wrong for defending him,

  • @bow2deathwish At what point in the video do they quote Alan Moore as saying anything about money? Just point that out to me. He NEVER said anything about money. If he did, point it out and I'll concede. Just stop and think about what you're saying for a second: How could Alan Moore be talking about prequel movies when DC is not making a prequel movie about Watchmen? That simply doesn't make any sense.

  • @uberhikari again showing how dumb you are. i meant to say many. and that was pretty obvious. any 7 year old could have figured that out.

stop trying to stretch what was said and making shit up to prove a point. you already lost the original argument. this shit is getting old. stop fucking making a fool of your self because your fucking annoying and im tired to dealing with you.

so ill say it again. shut up. i dont fucking care about this fucking subject any more.

  • @bow2deathwish Everything that you typed in your last post amounts to ungrammatical, profanity-laced drivel. I keep asking you what your original argument was and you refuse to respond. Again, you claimed that Alan Moore was talking about movies because DC was making a prequel movie to the Watchmen. But I've shown that you made that statement because you were ignorant. DC is making a prequel comic book series; so Moore COULD NOT have been talking about movies.

  • @uberhikari if you dont even know the original argument then why are u still cry about it?

  • @bow2deathwish Because your writing is so ungrammatical that it's quite possible that I misinterpreted what you wrote. So again, what was your argument?

  • @uberhikari ok well its pretty obvious you lost this debate.

sense your only come back is to bash on poor English. you clearly have no real rebuttal to the argument. every thing i typed was readable. it would have taken a dumb ass to not understand what was typed. so again ty for proving my point on your lack of intellect. perfect English doesnt mean some 1 knows what they are talking about. poor English doesnt mean that person doesnt know what they are talking about.

    good job on your ignorance

  • @bow2deathwish I think there's something wrong with your brain. I've reiterated my argument multiple times and your only response was to curse at me.

  • @bow2deathwish I keep asking what your argument was and you still won't repeat it. Furthermore, I didn't say your argument was invalid because of your poor grammar.

  • @bow2deathwish I said that your ungrammatical sentences makes it hard to understand what you were saying, and that as a result I may have misinterpreted what you wrote.

  • @uberhikari you can scroll down and read what i wrote. my engish isnt bad. i just dont care about every proper thing that i type when i type.

  • @bow2deathwish This was your original post: "but you then say he was talking about books not movies. if he was then that its self made him wrong to my knowledge of MD. there were tons of prequels and sequels to MD. why would he refer to a book when the subject was bout them making prequels to the last movie." And honestly no matter how I interpret it, I've already proven why everything you've written is not factually correct, which means you're either ignorant or a liar.

  • @bow2deathwish Either you mean Moby Dick the novel has many sequels/prequels, which isn't true; or you meant the movies has many sequels/prequels, which is true, but is not relevant because Moore was talking about the novel and not the movies. And this is evidenced by the fact that DC is making a COMIC BOOK prequel, NOT a movie prequel. So it seems either way you're wrong. I suspect you know this, but you're merely being obstinate and petulant.

  • @bow2deathwish If you would stop being so childish and simply admit that you were wrong, or offer up a NEW argument about why you're right, then this could simply be over.

  • @bow2deathwish The subject matter was NEVER about DC making a prequel movie, therefore, Alan Moore was NOT talking about the Moby Dick movies when he said there were not many prequels to Moby Dick. He was referring to the book. And given the context it makes perfect sense: Alan Moore was basically asking why would DC make a prequel comic book series when another classic novel, Moby Dick, didn't have one.

  • @uberhikari oh BTW. if your going to get mad over posts that are not even about you. maybe you shouldn't be online.

also stretching what was said then to contradict yourself to try and prove my ignorance. doesn't prove I'm ignorant . it proves you are a tool.

ill admit when I'm wrong. and 1 thing in that was wrong. but my over all point was correct.

  • Lee Newton is HOTT

  • Do George Lucas and Michael Bay work for DC Comics now?

  • LEAVE WATCHMEN ALONE!! thumbs up who got the joke)

  • @megamcee that movie was badass

  • @megamcee

Ummm sorry but there is NO ONE LEFT to Thumbs you up..... ; )

  • lee newton + bikini = awesome vid.. MAKE ONE NOW

  • no/// this is lame

  • I feel like they just talk back and forth at each other for no reason. Arguing for the sake of arguing.

  • No creator, no prequel.

  • I don't think this was needed and it is a little wrong that they are doing it despite the creators not wanting it to happen BUT I am interested and the writers doing the prequel are good. Honestly I would've preferred a remastered version of the original. IMO golden and bronze age comic book art sucks.

  • If the creator isn't on board then this should be left alone. Period

  • i love lee

  • i kinda wana read the novel can i get a book that has all the issues

  • Don't want to see it. Leave it alone.

  • I am feeling the same as Bareta. I want it, but am having a hard time getting on board because of the lack of Moore.

  • If they make prequels to Watchmen, I'm going to fucking kill them all.

  • @TheTrohl WOW. You need to chill the fuck out.

  • what!? a comic book publisher is releasing a series of prequels?!?!? where have i heard THAT before? DC is dying...bleeding out. marvel on the other hand is KICKING ASS

  • DC new ideas (like the new 52) are not working to well, so they need something they can actually sell. Will interesting to see....

  • The first watchmen sucked ...why make another....

  • @takindown Watchmen is universally considered to be one of the greatest works of literature ever produced, thank you very much:

    entertainmentDOTtimeDOTcom/2005/10/16/all-time-100-novels/#watchmen-1986-by-alan-moore-dave-gibbons

  • Leave it alone. Don't put a swine ON pearls!

  • DC ran out of original ideas..

  • I'm a marvel girl

  • after 25 yrs a prequel?....

    I smell garbage....

    ROFLMAO

  • Don't ruin Watchmen! It's bad enough there's remakes for even the Classics like Looney tunes and Thundercats (My childhood ruined!) must we Over use every Original concept?!?! And Sequels really? Everyone knows that Sequels are never better then the originals.

  • 5 head... LMFAO.

  • Alan Moore is a pretentious twat.

  • @davmul1980 lol they report news retard

  • Leave it

  • Superman returns was the worst movie ever, but does that ruin the character? What if the creator of Batman had said NO to Batman Begins? I say let them try! Then we can see if we will laugh or rejoice.

  • i loved watchmen, saw it at a friend's place and instantly went and bought it on dvd. rourshachkhkkkhkhhkhk - favourite character from anything. ever.

but i think they're in danger of ruining it.

Take Tekken for an example, Tekken one, two and three were great. T3 is one of my ultimate favourite games. Sadly they've gone way too far and it's just crap. drawing out these long storylines and making stupid characters, it's just insane.

    LEAVE WANTED ALONE!

  • 5 fingers behind your back

  • the first watchman movie sucked major A SS

  • he cant complain about his 25 year old ideas when he hasnt had an idea in 25 years

  • Why are they quoting Jesus at 1:12 ?!

  • @billygirdler1 That's the great Allen Moore lol

  • WARSHAK!!!!!!!!!

  • Watchmen was awesome back in the day, the movie was good. But come on people you dont add to a classic, maybe revamp it but thats about it

  • watchmen is the shit best heros ever!!!!!!!

  • lol phil's like totally not in sourcefed anymore. well as long as lee doesn't leave ill be fine.

  • Leave it alone! They should have left the movie alone too.

  • Not another George Lucas

  • You have four fingers and a thumb. Unless your missing some digits. Which I don't believe you are.

  • I don't care...but ty

  • I choose to remain stubbornly optimistic that this could be a good thing. It would be really awesome if they would create some other philosophical/moral point out of each of the character's backstories that really fleshed out who they are. Like they did within the comic for Rorschach.

  • The movie itself wasnt any good but made good money. you just trying to cash in. Dont make more

  • Xmen origins nuff said

  • 3 words: Star Wars Prequels. Does that mean anything to you?

  • in the words of Doc Manhatann ,nothing ever ends

  • Ruining a good thing , its been done so many times

  • As long as theres awesome sex scenes, and awesome dr, manhattan shit, im good with it

  • What's the point in bitching about it and saying it's going to suck if you really think that don't read it.

  • Leave it alone. I don't need a prequel.

  • DC just pulled a Lucas

  • Ha ha.. hey, you say her name wrong. Gee....

  • While I would love to see the story continued, they do need to have more original ideas. The comic and movie industry (especially the latter) have become lacking in the past few years. Granted I stopped going and obsessing over a lot of the comics but I also haven't heard anything like I used to about them.

  • So an hour and a half movie of a blue penis?

  • Hey Joe,

You have 3 fingers behind you back.

    Sincerely,

    Mind Fuck

  • Just like the when they scarred Douglas Adams Hitchhikers books by adding another one after Douglas had died... this will be an abomination.

Pre/post creations without the original artist's involvement (and in the case of Lucas, even sometimes with it) are always a bare shadow of the greatness of the original work.

  • agreed, she is a fivehead, too big to be a forehead

  • It looks like comic books are getting as uncreative as movies...plumbing great stories from the past cause they can't think of anything great now to make money. When are we going to see the next "Death of..."? (Fill in the blank with any character who's popular...then they can be resurrected to make MORE money!)

  • How should I know I don't read :P

  • He sold off the story and characters to DC long ago, their a company that's out to make a buck through telling stories n that story is widely recognized. The characters aren't even originally Alan Moore creations n he has used characters created by others to spin tales, so I see his point, but don't care. They got some great writers n artist for the prequels n I know I'll check em' up when collected.

  • Come on, finally George Lucas has stopped alternating his movies and now this? They should leave it alone, definitively

  • Fuck DC... Bu I am curious about how it would pan out.

  • leave it alone you can only ruin it DC you can ONLY ruin it.

  • Lee = Awesome...I'm a fan

  • My bet is that one or two will be good enough to stand alone and the rest will fall flat.

  • I don't care, I'm definitely buying the Rorschach one.

  • @monkeynut4 My thoughts exactly, he was the best character in the novel by far, as well as the most intriguing.

  • I LOVE SOURCEFED! :D

  • Do you cause awkwardness or are you just super awkward? Lee doesn't instill fear, at least in me, so I think it is the latter Joe...

  • no... you have 10 fingers behind your back. ;D

  • I love when things come to an end when their time has come and they're remembered as timeless classics. You know, like Harry Potter, David Tennant's role as the Doctor, and hopefully, Watchmen. It's always a shame when things are ruined because they've been driven into the ground because they want to squeeze the most money out of it.

  • @1:15 THAT'S Alan Moore?

I though the had mistakenly loaded up a photo of Charles Manson. Please say he hasn't been living in a cave somewhere.

PS GET RID OF THESE F*******G CAPTCHAS

  • @1:15 THAT'S Alan Moore?

I though the had mistakenly loaded up a photo of Charles Manson. Please say he hasn't been living in a cave somewhere.

  • Have the prequels set in the same 'universe', but not tied to the original characters. This hopefully will make everyone happy. It is oft said Hollywood is a money machine, it's both fuels it and drives it. Money is its main reason for existence, so when some highly successful money generating franchise comes along, its not surprising the money machine will try to regenerate, replicate, recreate and extenuate that franchise mechanism for as long as possible.

  • Manga ftw

  • Whoa... That lady has freakishly small fingers.

  • She's right! The forehead ruined the movie! (aw jeez, relevant criticism please)

  • I'm not going to lie, I want to see the the stories and will read the comics but I still think they should have just left the series alone. At least they're being smart by releasing prequels and not crappy sequels

  • I don't know what to think about this prequel

  • Its the dude from berats and bereta !!!!!!

  • Aw, Lee. Lee, hey. Superficial attacks on other people? C'mon. Stop that :|

  • Prequels are worse tahn sequels

  • He looks like Booth from BONES!

  • Lee, your a member of the Sinestro Corps?

  • Hmmm. I like the ideas of prequels etc. There are some stories that are just SO GOOD that you want to know more, even though you know it's made up. So I'm okay with DC doing this. I just hope they're go for solid story line over generic story line that appeals to the most people to make the most money & in doing so makes it crappy.

  • I would only say yes if the creator had something to do with it. Other than that i think it would just fail

  • Watchmen is probably the best comic ever. I was excited about a prequel until I heard Allan Moore didn't approve. That just not cool, guys.

  • hey DC.... WRITE NEW COMICS!

  • Penis

  • i loved the Watchmen and i would love to a prequel but not with out it's original creator or even a nod from him

  • we read this book as an educational read in school right next to huck finn and the great gatsby. if they're gonna mess with it, they better watch their backs.

  • Bad idea. look what happened to the crow
