The car still exists today. It's on the Gone in 60 webpage. It was at the Peterson Automotive briefly. It's now in a private collection. The car still runs. It's at the end of this movie on the dvd running around in circles and doing burnouts.
I've seen that. According to what I read it did run after that, and still does today. This is the only time I've ever seen a car chase where they used the same vehicle throughout. Truly impressive really, you certainly couldn't do this with a modern car.
H.B. Halicky (not sure of the spelling) was the actor / stunt driver, he's one of the all time greats!
I'll try and find out how to do that. .but thanks for posting this classic jump - the car reportedly jumped over 100 feet - from the frontview angle you cant see the distance properly - a classic stunt performed without a crash helmet!
@kepkin up and to the left Edit video you click and change the flick lol :D rhyme :P. ;) After that the button changes to Save changes and you avenge the new design! :D The movie is like 50% of the time BORING! There was even one scene where they showed two faces for like 2 minutes and it was totally useless in the parking with the main character and a woman!
I think the part where he hits the pole at speed and spins completely around is one of the best parts

The film was shot in the year 1973, but came out in 1974.

Its like why did he have to die. I could see him pull off some really wild stunts during these past two decades.
Anyway greatest moment indeed!
