lol, the sounds gradually get louder throughout the season, so you don't even notice it until one day you're walking and are like "wait... wtf is that noise??" sleeping was easy, unless you make the mistake of thinking about them, cuz then your mind doesn't drown them out anymore, then you have a hell of a hard time trying to sleep because now you -know- there's something noisy outside. >:(
what's even grosser is after all the cicada molt, there are thousands of empty husks scattered about... in the grass, stuck to trees, on the walkways, it freaks me out :(
