  • Thank you so much for your video! Today my screen "broke free" and now will now close properly. After watching your video, I was able to find the problem of 3 broken pieces of plastic where with screws. Do you have any recommendations for where to find parts (screen housing)? In Canada ?

  • Hi! Your video is really great. I have a problem with my laptop; it's a Dell xps m1330 but the video flex were broken and I need to put into the laptop again for obtaining warranty. I know it's a little tricky but please, help me. Where I lived all computers are very expensive.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm mexican.

    Have a nice day (:

  • I wanted to thank you for the video. It helped me fix my daughter's computer.

  • At 7:58 Great description in which case it is the inverter's fault. Thanks a lot!

  • nice laptop

  • The mark of genius is making the complex simple. Thank you for this demonstration. This chore seems less daunting now.

  • very instructive i was confused prior to watching this vid on the assembly of the screen, brought a lot of clarity. do you have a how to video on replacing the back light lamp itself?

  • Many many thanks!! I followed your video and repair my Dell LCD. The LCD was pure blank just yesterday. You are so talented. i really really appreciate!

  • i have the same thing on the compter that im useing now and my laptop

  • How long did it actually take you to replace the screen? A lot of small shops like to charge by the hour and I don't want to be taken advantage of

  • @lhoward496 screen replacement should not take an hour, id be surprised if it took half an hour, we usually take 10-15 minutes max.

  • i have a hard time hearing you,the volume is low on this video

  • dude I have dell M1530 with LED lcd. I wonder if I can replace it with non led (wuxga) lcd? (I am gonna get the new lcd with its inverter)

Do I need anything extra? or is it impossible for me to change lcd?

  • Thanks! This really helped. It's not the same model exactly but close enough to help more than the others:)

  • Its mostly common sense take the screen out unplug all the plugs then just put the new screen in and plug all the plugs where they suppose to go and then just tighten up the screws again

  • Great Help... Thank you so much

  • Maaan!!! You are the best, great money saving video. The best I've seen in a loooong time. Thanks very much.

  • i need to get screen for my friend dell it's inspiron 1545 but when i check the screens on ebay they say they're defferent models for inspiron 1545 screens. how i know that? socond thing they say CCFL backlight not included, is that mean i will a screen with no lights?

  • thumps up for all the times you thought "thats what she said"

  • warning! there is one important point which he forgot to tell you and ihe made the mistake himself, you much never touch the back of the screen because it could mess up the screen or put fingerprints at the back.

  • WARNING: DO NOT BUY A LAPTOP SCREEN FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Upon reading many negative reviews online I gave this company a chance to send me a replacement screen for my laptop. Of course they sent me the wrong screen for my laptop and claimed that it is compatible. Only 1 problem the screen keeps flashing, not to mention the product numbers do not match. Upon submitting a request for a new screen they told me that I have to pay shipping to return the screen and pay the shipping for the new one

  • @redolds4422 did it say in description Original or Compatible? did they mention in their T&C that return shipping is not included?

  • @redolds4422 Call trading standards, it will be covered under distance selling regulations.

  • @redolds4422 screen flashing may be the video controller not the display

  • you shoulda put the laptops model # cuz I was looking for this particular laptop but I looked under Dell Laptop 1558 & would not show up.

After I figured out how to do it myself I found your video.

    Thanks anyways though. ;]

  • Hi I just bought LCD replacement. Can you tell me if (T1)(A1) and (T1)(A2) should make much of a difference, the part number is the same. Thanks.

  • Thanks for this. Will there be any driver issues if I replace the screen with the same model or will the laptop work as if nothing has changed?

  • @taycuhtoe no.

  • Thank cool vid

  • Hi Lotfi-- very helpful video I cracked the screen on my Studio 1535 Bought a new one online and saved hundreds on both the part and labor. I had a real problem with the 2 screws at the bottom of the screen- getting them out and back in. They are at an angle because the top of the computer does not open to lay flat. wondering if there is any way to release the lid hinges to make it lay flat for easier access. Also- where do you place the inverter-- the bottom of my bezel won't snap back

  • @elkhocm Remove the hinge cover assembly to get better access.

  • Wow! He's a Laptop Repair man and a ventriloquist in one!!

  • Wow! He's a Laptop Repair man and a ventriloquist in one!!

  • i think i got a replacement.. it cost me 150 on ebay and its in but i didnt keep what you call the side hinges.. im an idiot.. whish i found this first.. but anyways.. that shouldnt make my screen not work.. i think i got the wrong screen so i think ill send it back and get the right one.. or rather

it seems i can see an image.. its just almost black

  • 80% dark screen problems are solved by replacing the inverter board, it is a stick board underneath the lcd screen that controls backlight and it usually dies for no reason. example dell inspiron 9400 inverter on ebay

  • @reply4reply Hi, sir Lot, how are you doing. I've replaced some Dell screens and I've learned about this problem. Except the inverter is burned, we must pay attention on the LCD part number. When we replace an SamSung LCD with an LG, for example, we lost the bright control and the image is realy darker, self experienced. I dont know why but I just could solve the problem replacing by an genuine LTN samsung screem. Ive put the broken LCD again just for fun and the bright rise, so, inverter was ok

  • is it the same for sony z series 13.1"

  • My Dell Inspiron 15 laptop screen is cracked. I just dropped it on the floor and there is some black colors spreading throughout the screen. Do I have to buy a new screen and replace it? Or can I ship it to Dell and pay a price to get it fixed?

  • now is this the same process for changing the back cover? because that's all I need to replace.

  • Thanks for such a great video -- I've just broken my dell studio 1555 screen (I stepped on it, don't ask!). In the next couple of days I'll be ordering a new screen from ebay and after watching your vid I feel much more confident about replacing it myself. I'll let you know how it goes!

  • Thanks for such a great video -- I've just broken my dell studio 1555 screen (I stepped on it, don't ask!). In the next couple of days I'll be ordering a new screen from ebay and after watching your vid I feel much more confident about replacing it myself. I'll let you know how it goes!

  • my dell laptop scren is broken and thia vid looks really helpful but i dont want to mess up my baby even more so i think ill just go ahead and pay $200 for it $100 for the screen and another $100 for the process of switching them out.

  • @neneateanna that's fair and i have few tips how to get cheaper repairs, always inform your repair man that you have an idea how much screens or parts cost because you checked them on ebay, also tell the repair man that you can do it yourself but you just don't have the time, don't drive your BMW anywhere near the shop or wear your prada hand bag that day, repair men give usually cheaper quotes when they think their customer is not dumb and rich.

  • @neneateanna I'd call dell if you still have warranty otherwise they'll charge a lot for replacement. take it to a private local repair shop for cheaper price.

  • @reply4reply MY LAPTOP HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND IS IN A LCD DISPLAY OPEN POSITION TO CHANGE WITH THE NEW ONE WHICH I HAVE JUST GOT BY POST. THE PROBLEM FOR ME HERE IS THAT HAVING THE SAME MODEL NO. "B154EW02 V.7" BY AU OPRTRONICS THERE IS THE DIFFERENCE IN H/W: RATING. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT DOES IT MEAN. THE OLD OR DAMAGED ONE HAS H/W:1A AND NEW ONE HAS H/W:3A. CAN U PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN REPLACE 1A BY 3A OR I HAVE TO FIND THE ONE WITH 1A RATING IN H/W: .

hoping to get the response soon.

  • @adhikarideep 1A only, 3A may not work.

  • @reply4reply H/W:3A and H/W:1A are the revisions in the hardware and they must not have any compatibility issue is what i found.

and it worked too. unless the model no. stays the same.

    hope this helps you instead.

any way thanks for your attempt to help me (reply).

  • your video is very helpful and realize that maybe you can help me with my problem. I need to replace my back cover of inspiron 1521 since I broke my hinges off. Could you post video on this or give me some instructions! That would be greatly appreciated!

  • Helpful videos. I was wondering if you have a video for replacing the top back cover for inspiron 1421 with hinges. I really screwed mine up and am wanting to fix it myself :) Thank you and I appreciate it!

  • you will need to provide the screen's model number which is in the back of the lcd screen, then I can help sofar this is the item number for you: 140358479056

  • Actually I'm not sure if the problem is from the screen or the inverter or the video card because I don't have back light but i can see the desktop by using a flashlight and when I connect my laptop to a monitor I don't get a live screen. What do you thing the problem is?

Thanks a lot for your help:)
