@indiemelon I'm right there with you. (I realize it seems like everyone says this) but I've been singing and performing since I was about six years old. I love to sing. To me, songs and lyrics speak when words can't...you know? One talent I was NOT blessed with is writing songs. (Of course, this hasn't stopped me from trying...over and over) :) However, Joy's unique, refreshing style of music has been a huge inspiration for me as well. Anyway, good luck with your songs! @CarolinaGirl2816 There's a quote by F.Scott Fitzgerald that goes 'you don't write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say'. When I try to write a song I fail, I usually write them when I'm in a really bad mood or confused about somethin and I need to find a way to express how I'm feeling. I'm sure you'll write an amazing song one day :) Good luck :)
