  • There are 2 screws in the battery compartment that just need to be tightened. They are right next to the battery terminal.

  • i got the same thing too but i dont care just leave it

  • mine has been doing thaat since day one and it pisses me off because this damn thing cost just shy of 1600$!!!! not to mention that the top case where the track pad is, is detaching from the bottom case!, and the hinge creaks when i open it sometimes and aswell the bottom case near the hinge is starting to crack! and when i push down on the left side it makes and irritating clicking noise and the side case pops out! I almost witched to an hp notebook

  • mine does this

  • Mine doesn't make a click. It makes a rubbing noise. If anything, my case is warped, making discs nearly impossible to insert in the disk drive, and to get them out, I have to pry the plastic up and tilt the laptop on it's side to get the disk out. My thumbs always hurt afterwards.

  • mine does this but not as bad as the one in this video, plus there's no clicking sound and my macbook seems to be holding together pretty well

  • THANK YOU!!

  • i noticed that too!!

    -pokes squish-book

  • It happens to me too!

  • get the new aluminium macbook!

u neva hav da problem of the case falling apart!

    :)

  • or any other non-mac will do as well. oh and you'll save yourself at least a thousand bucks.

  • I got this problem to but want to get it repaired :(

  • lmao your right never saw that

  • Maaaaybe you've just been "squishing" it to the point that you stripped the screws and/or dug into the plastic around the screws.

  • Well i just did that on my macbook and its squichy but it makes no noise.

  • yeah mine does the same, its so annoying, and plus the pther day i chipped a bit of the case just by restin my hand on it, below and to the right of the track-pad .. . sucks.

  • man i thought i was the only one having this issue in fact its in the exact same place. everywhere else seems to feel sturdy though. glad to see its not just my macbook. oh and yeah, the left screws dont really seem to be screwed to anything.lol

  • I believe that the predecessor to the MacBook, the iBook G4, was much more solidly built. There is no squishy part on this machine. It's not much thicker (.3 inches) and not much heavier (Actually .1 pound LESS)! I think Apple did this to, like most companies would, save money.

  • most plastic computers are 'squishy' in places, its not nesseserily an issue. Thats why you pay more for an aluminum casing.

  • my macbook does that to . on one side i fixed it by tightening the screws on the inside . you can get to them by taking out the battery .

  • I have the same fucking problem!

  • SAME PROBLEM! I HATE IT! as a matter of fact, i told them about this, and for everyone to know, those aren't screws! The mac genius told me that those "screws" are there solely for appearance.

  • i've got a "creaky" macbook too! the bottom casing where the top meets when closed has also just started to crack. only have had the mac for a little over a month.

  • That's What happens on all macbooks.

  • and why is that?

  • They just didn't bother making the screws "active". probably somthing that will be revised.

  • Yeah, because I'm sure that Photoshop really cares which OS it's running on.

I hate Apple's laptops, not really their desktops.

But for every shortcoming that a PC has, an Apple has another.

Macs ship with some very nice software on them, and they have PC's completely built in that regard, I'll be the first to admit that.

But their laptops are groslly overpriced.

  • everything you said id right, but in the end there are other things to consider like the fact macs dont get viruses and how much easier and fun they are to use. you can think what you want if your a pc user but you should at least try one for a while.

  • Woah - just did the same thing on my MacBook - only had it a month and, well its not as bad as on this video - but it sure does move!

  • hey man i have the same problem

  • You ignorants... that even isn´t a macbook air... and... yes your vista loaded pc could rape my macbook... if it turned off and i am standing on it... screw you

  • That's why there is macbook pro. Macbook is for poor people and students.

  • that may be true but its better than no laptop at all

plus windows is for poor people!

  • Actually Windows is for programmers who intend to make a living writing useful code.

Mac is for people who make art for 10 dollars a week.

  • actually linux is for people who really make their living writing code...

  • Linux is so unpopular. Nobody makes things for Linux.

  • your art must suck balls......i guess five cents wouldn't even suffice. maybe a half-a-penny.

  • Actually my art's kinda nice. But it's not my profession, thus I use Windows.

  • No, Mac's are for people who are either susceptible to marketing or have far too much money. When you can look at a laptop that has 3 times the specifications of a Mac for half of the cost, and decide to pay for the inferior product, you speak volumes about your intelligence.

Say what you will about Vista, but my computer could rape any Mac short of their awesome ones with two CPUs and shitloads of RAM, and I paid hundreds of dollars less than say, a Macbook Air.

  • That's because the MacBook Air is one of the most costly configurations, and is completely useless.

  • no the mac mini is the cheapest one

  • holy... STOP FIGHTING>

i have used many OS's and many machines in my time. ALL HAVE THEIR STUPID ISSUES. JEEZ> and mbp has a few issues too (probably). but so do PC machines. And no, artists dont get freaking paid 10 bucks a week. and useful code is being written in ever OS (including Solaris, FreeBSD, BIOS, Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, u name it, there is code that helps people and is making the creater rich!)

    JEEZ STOP FIGHTING MORONS!

  • I went to the apple store today (getting closer to getting a macbook!),and i noticed this on one of the display models; kinda left me unimpressed. I don't think it's fixable, it's a design overlook, or laziness on apple's part.

  • oh god i have the same problem!I tought that was a problem only of my macbook...thank u so much for this video!

  • MacBook has problems like this, nobody gives a fuck, let them just be.

"Normal" laptop has some small issue, everyone's crying, screaming, suing people (In USA) etc :E

  • Ironically this is normal. Those two screws are only there to secure the top to the bottom case, nothing else. The squish in is because there is nothing behind that piece of plastic like there is on the right side. All that is there is a small gap, and then the battery bay.

  • I don't understand everyone here. Why are you trying to 'fix' it? It is there for no other reason than to look pretty. That's it. Apple screwed them in there to make them symmetrical with the two screws on the right-hand side. The are *not* attached anything, hence the squishiness! There is no need to fix anything, because nothing has broken.

  • same here!

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS OR NOT

  • Unfortunately, what has happened here is the internal nut has broken off of the internal chasis... the only way to fix it is to open up the macbook and reweld the bracket back on. Superglue won't cut it...

  • You don't need to fix it there is nothing to fix they are cosmetic meaning for looks only you dumbshit.

  • guys have you got little cracks between plastic and topcase?

  • yeah i noticed that too, at first i thought the screws were loose, turns out they're just cosmetic.

  • I wonder what happened to the quality of Apple products. Sure, the newer intel Macs are faster, but the PowerPC macs were higher quality

  • are the screws all tight?

  • mine does that!

  • Mine dosnt :)

  • Holy Shit, I thought my MacBook was the only one that did that...

I feel so much better now. lol

  • :) mine too

  • yeah mine does that i always make it do that cliking sound when im waiting for somthing to load or somthing like that

  • wtf...Mine dose that too!

  • to se kurwa przykrec srubke kretynie

  • wiesniacka odpowiedz na maxa

  • i ve got the same problem. any suggestions how to fix it? what causes this problem? heat from the inside or what?

  • Same here!

  • I imagined the squishing...and it wasn't that loud.

So I'm not sure what the big deal here is.

  • okay, you obviously did something to it because half the people here don't have it. I just checked it by the way I have a MacBook Pro and it doesn't click. So mabye you should take care of your computer or something.

  • It's the MacBooks, not the MacBook Pros.

  • LOL @ youll half to imagine the squishing

  • i refuse to.

also, it's a good thing i'm not black or asian, because i wouldn't be good at any of those. i've never been to jail for holding up a KFC, and i've never managed to crash a car at 15 mph because of my slanty eyes.

  • lmao what are you then.

think your tough talking shit online.

  • i'm a confederate skinhead. i have liberal political views though because i enjoy receiving penises in my badonkadonk and republicans are against homosexuality.

  • queeeeeeeeeeeeer

  • lol i never even noticed the screws until i saw this. mine doesnt have a sound though...maybe you should just leave it alone:P

  • ya me too

  • OMG. It never bothered me till now, Now I keep thinking about it and squishing it every odd couple of minutes =.=

  • yea and my dog loves pooping on the grass....so whattt!!

  • Wow, my dog does too! weird.

  • couldnt you simply tighten the screws?????

  • notice that the screws are screwed in from the inside!!

  • jesus christ! stop fucking with it... you got OCD or something? if you don't push it, it won't squeek!

  • i have never had to avoid pushing or touching anything on my non-mac computers. I guess you get what you pay for

  • the macs used to be aluminum, now they're shitty plastic!

  • so what

  • Yeah, the same thing here. Mine used to make a creaking sound, but has since stopped.

Although, the thought that it's there just get's to you, even if it isn't anything big.

  • i got a solution! stop screwing with the side of the mac!

  • I have exactly the same problem.

It's one of the thing I don't like about the macbook.
