No you don't. It is known as Recon Craft Theta. However by getting the DLC Mothership Zeta, you get beamed up to the Mothership when getting to the UFO.

You can also get alien blaster ammo when you first arrive in megaton, make sure it's night and go to super duper mart. Sometimes there will be canisters hitting it and exploding, sending alien blaster ammo everywhere.

Grab the Alien Blaster and ammo near the alien body quick! Because you can't get it if you buy the new DLC. Instead of trying to grab it you get sucked into a tractor-beam. and then you get to run out into space and get more ammo and weapons!

This game has startled me more than anything my life. Everytime I play it seems some random motherfucker leaps out of nowhere and scares the shit out of me.

The worst time was in the Ant tunnels in Grayditch. After killing the 4 elite ant guards for the quest, the Ant Queen spotted me, but I ran away. Then, as I was running through the tunnels, the game glitched and she TELEPORTED right in front of me! I literally yelled "OH SHIT" at 2 in the morning. Woke up my roommate.

Lol, in all fairness Aliens would be the least of the worries of the survivors of the wasteland, considering there are super mutants, who themselves resemble really big muscle aliens. In fact, if your character could speak for himself, if you came across the downed ship he'd probably just think it was an extremely scrawny super mutant. One thing I don't understand though, all that radiation. Did the ship generate all of it or something?

did you read the Germantown Police HQ terminals? there's a few inside the building with pre-war 911 calls, and a terminal outside which is a personal log of a policeman at the time the war started. one of the log starts with "Bombs fell in DC today, Don't even know if it was the chinese..." indicating that it was right at the start of the war.
