1. a 35 roll in the camaro would put him deap bottom of 2nd gear unless he has 273's. 2 that car is about 300lbs heavier than a normal fbody since its a vert. 3. a mild bolton car from a dig or 20 roll wouldve killed the stang, thats without a stall on the stock tranny.
yeah this race would have been much more interesting from a dig... that is where an auto LS1 is the strongest, its not a roll racing car... and it still SHOULD lose, lol... but it'd be closer than this race from a roll, which is usually how mustang guys WANT to race f-body guys... I don't blame them, those live axle 4th gen f-bodies come off the line hard... i'll put it this way, this s/c early Sn95 would want none of a bolt-on, stalled, LS1 on DR, lol...
do any of you guys know what your talking about? sticks are way better for raceing ny buddy has a an Iroc-z with a TPI 350 and auto trans and i have a 91 rs camaro (same body as the iroc) with 350 TBI with a stick. he has a much better injection system then me and i can beat him.
@hallassorbelast its all how you build your car with 1000+ hp its safer with a auto and you run more consistant times a stock auto deosnt compare to a built and stalled one the only disadvantage between the two is you lose more power to the wheel using the auto and if your not a good driver with the stick or in general it'll affect trap times of course but proven fact most 1000+ or close to 1500 in between there are autos that have shift kits so they can be shifted
autos are only good with a shift kit i have a 95 sitck and my bro has a 94 auto with a shift kit and he can keep up in the start...mines not stock tho.
Look the LS1 is a great motor and all but seriously 4th gen camaros are fucking ugly, the first ones looked better but still if i had to drive a 4th gen Fbody ill take the firebird.

The manual will win, simply because you can run the rpms up more and get more out of the gear then the auto because it shifts at a certain point, but if you tune the auto to shift for the best speed and acceleration it will beat the manual.

Manual you can hold it in a gear longer and get more rpms out of it rather than a auto already shifting in 5-6 grand. Now you could build a auto tranny and have it set so its holding its gears longer, than your in a much better position to win.

ok I'm sorry but any one who owns and ls1 car never wants to race from a roll an from my experience with racing mustangs an my buddies racin them, everyone of them wanted a roll not dig because mustangs more than likely will always have the advantage in a roll race so sorry i'm not byin it i think the mustang wanted the roll race not the camaro

A S/C H/C/I stang only trapping 109mph? That's not impressive. My CAM ONLY LT1 traps 111-112MPH. Good run but that's still a stock LS1 and you didn't beat it that bad for having a H/C/I boosted stang... weak... Bad bottom end or not... sounds like an excuse... like you said the Camaro guy would do..hypocrite

@JCP281 When a Corvette beats a Mustang (the majority of the time) the book of excuses comes out and the number 1 excuse is: you have more cubic inches and the number 2 excuse is "its not in the same class".
Back n the day ford 5.0s were kicking 5.7s ass-no excuses, just better internals-all the way until Ford went with the 4.6 and GM went 5.7. To compensate for loss of HP Vortech and Paxton was the way out-kinda like above. So in reality, excuses do depend on the race and the car. :)
